They did explain how hollows are created in this episode, Rukia says some souls become hollows on their own through the grudges or regrets or whatever that they have, and some and made by being consumed by existing hollows, like we saw in this episode. There is a bit more explanation on how it can happen coming up, but those 2 methods Rukia mentioned are basically what it comes down to.
I HIGHLY recommend you try to split your audio so you can just mute the show without muting your commentary, since most of us have probably already seen the show and are here for the commentary anyways.

Try recording your voice with Audacity and your screen with your recording software (screen audio only) and then you have 2 separate audio tracks. There's not really any way to split audio tracks if you've recorded them both from the same source. It's why they use the clappers in film and a lot of people clap before a recording and edit it out, so you can sync the audio from the peak of the clap to the visual clapping
FYI : This anime have an Omake (spesial segment in endings) like Naruto, so don't skip it after credit scene because that's segment (Shinigami art book, Quincy Ensiclopedia, Arrancar Ensiklopedia, Xcution segment, & facts about Zanpakuto) is funny & important

No patreon is completely uncut and you can post whatever you want pretty much. Even when there are copyright issues once in a blue moon there's always a workaround (like changing the title for example). That's why so many anime reactors have patreons, along with the fact that you can't get monetised if something is copyright claimed on yt which most of the time episode reactions will be. The patreon is there purely if you want to see the full version of the content, there's no pressure on anyone to pay for it (obviously!)
I don't mind audio cuts too much, but I do hope commentary audio doesn't get cut :/ If somehow copyright still happens while you're talking over it, then may I suggest making a habit of pausing for commentary? Unless it's just a quip. Tho, funny quips getting muted would also be pretty sad :v

Don't worry it's not a way to get people to go to patreon, I'm not a scumbag like that 😭 so when I edit the videos I edit them with all sound attached, and then RUclips flags it for copyright. For episode 1 I was able to erase just the song and keep my voice, but for some reason this time it only let me erase the audio fully. It's really annoying, I need to try and find a software or something that singles out vocals so that I can mute OSTs. They're the main problem.

Yeah unfortunately there's insane amounts of copyright restrictions on bleach, RUclips said the video would be blocked worldwide unless certain parts of the video got muted. Trying to figure out a way to solo my voice so that the OSTs are the only things being muted but that only works in some cases. Learning through every upload right now!

Yeah... currently working on figuring out how to split the audio layers on the editing software I use. Once I have that figured out, it should be ok!
