I live in very humid Sydney and they are taking over the house. My husband worries he'll be eaten during the night. If you want more humidity put your pots on a tray lined with peddles and wet the pebbles every few days, the water will evaporate up creating humidity. They will love it. I think the basket is perfect for it.
What do you mean by “wet the pebbles”? Should they be literally wet on the surface or do you mean to fill the tray with water and cover with pebbles?
I love that you gave Amanda “Planterina” credit!! So respectful and cool of you. And I love this idea. Looks great! I have a big Monstera Dragon Tail 😍😍 Aloha from Maui, Hawaii!!
I'm so happy that you showed us how to make moss poles! I ordered everything on Amazon and used leftover PVC pipe that I had in my yard. I just made three moss poles and my son said, "Wow!" It's so rewardilng to be able to make something nice, at a fraction of the cost! Thank you, so much for the tutorial! ;0)
This is awesome!
This is the best in depth video about monstera that I have ever seen. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Christine is the BEST!!
Same here, and I very much agree.
I agree! I'm so happy to have found this video. Anyone have any clue where to buy the shredded coconut fiber with stone mixture she had in the potting soil? Thanks.
You make repotting an Art Form 🌟 Enjoyed your meticulous strategy as well as your knowledge! I (we) Appreciate the education and learning ✨ You take my doubt out of investing these large beautiful loving plants! And ‘that’ basket is a dream 🤩 Wishing You a
Wonderful week💫
I bought a plant from a store that was labeled Philodendron, I wanted to figure out exactly what type it was so I posted it on Facebook and everyone told me it’s actually a Monstera Deliciosa! They are such beautiful plants, I can’t wait to make its climbing pole and watch it grow! 😍
What are the 3 ingredients you use for the coco chip mix?
You rock! I love the way she looks in the basket! I have huge Monsteras, Variegated as well. I’m going to get baskets! Thanks so much! I’m hooked!!!
It's nice how it all blended perfectly with that gigantic basket!
Thank you for such detail with your explanations and instructions on repotting a monstera. I should have watched this video a long time ago. I have a monstera that I haven’t done much research about and it’s huge now. I’ve had it for over a year. I’ve repotted it twice but I’m sure not with the proper care. It has really big aerial roots and I didn’t even know that’s what they were. I thought they were the reguLar roots growing up and out of the pot because it’s so big. I will be watching your other videos for more information and tips and tricks. Thank you!!
It was nothing but pleasure to watch this video, I totally enjoyed it! Great repotting job and very impressive final look of the plant in that basket. Thank you for sharing.
OMG, j'adore les monsteras, ce sont des plantes tellement magnifiques, les tiennes sont parfaites! merci pour ce tuto, gros bisous de France
Beautiful
Thank you so much!! My plant is dehydrated and I didn’t even know it. I recently moved from a humid climate (so cal) to a really dry climate (Boise, Idaho) and my plant has NOT thrived as it did in so cal! I currently have her in my tub with my diffuser on and the door shut. The poor baby! I didn’t even think about the humidity, DUH! Ive had her for years and she’s been so low-maintenance, and since we moved things went down hill and I had changed anything. Im going to repot her and get her a bigger pot. She’s so cramped. So happy for your video, thank you!! I’ll be misting a few times a day now! 😍😍😍
I am in love with your videos! Just discovered your video about Monstera. I have been wanting one for a long time and I found a small one second hand. Now I want to make it beautiful. 🥰
You are so brave to wear White while re-potting.
She looks beautiful in white.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge regarding the Montera Deliciosa plant.
Have a blessed New Year 2021.
🤣🤣🤣
In fairness, I love her all-white outfit. It looks great on her especially with the nice, healthy green plants in contrast.
The white outfit served as a beautiful backdrop.

LOVE the detailed video, just potted my 1st Monstera!!!🥰🥰🥰
Hi Christine! I'm addicted to your tasteful, informative and calming videos, and it's almost like a therapy for me. You have a great mission to show people how to love, take care and save the plants. I subscribed to your channel and enjoy watching your videos, especially the ones from Arizona:). I wish you and Michael the best in your creative activities!
I received a monstera on mother’s day this year, am now a little more informed as to how to look after my plant, very informative, thank you so much.😘.
sphagnum moss is always sold out at my local garden stores, but they're always in stock at the pet stores.
I absolutely love this series! I enjoyed every minute of this video (informative and mesmerizing). Next summer when I repot mine I am going to look for a similar basket ( I love that look).
Also, I was thinking giving a plants as a gift (like for a house warming or a new job etc.) that one took the time to repot would be so sentimental.
I'm so happy you're enjoying the series! That's a great idea, giving a beautiful repotted plant is a lovely thoughtful gift idea. 🌵🌱🌿🙌
Oh, you have reminded me that I must transplant my Monstera! 😄 Loving this series 💖. You're such a perfectionist, it looks gorgeous, great job. Thank you.
So excited for this video!! 🌿💚
Right on, that's so fantastic to hear! Thank you!
Ommmg I love your channel! such a pleasant surprise to find you here ahaha
I appreciate you & this video SO much! I purchased my 1st Monstera from a Sam's club at the beginning of summer. I REALLY wanted one & was shocked to find it there of all places. Placed on my back porch, it has grown & grown! Now, getting ready to bring indoors (I live in Upstate, NY...pretty sure this tropical beauty will NOT "grow to love" the snow! 😉), I came across your video & I learned SO many things! Thank you for being so patient,no kind & so informative! 🤗
I learned alot thankyou! Beautiful plants and energy you have!
Very soft spoken with great clarity, and extremely informative
I also wet or moisten the pole to encourage the roots to grab onto it.
Great job with the plants! Love that video, my monstera is still small. It is hard to work on it in an apartment, careful under the shower will help with moisture. Thanks Christine.
You put your plants under the shower?
YES! Thank you Christine! Beautiful-
You plants are really neat!! I love these plants keep doing your thing girl!!!
Talk about perfect timing! I was just getting ready to do this and I didn’t know where to start 😅 thanks so much!
Me too. Good thing I was able to watch this video before repotting.
Yay! So glad it could help! Thank you!
Just purchased one last week very very Informative video especially in regards to the charcoal also because of the pandemic I have purchased over 20 indoor plants thanks for sharing your information
Great job on DIY moss pole!
I love your tips! I'm planning to repot mine too so your video is in perfect timing!
Awesome Julie! Good luck with it, I know you'll do a great job!

Christine, you should be a hand model. 🙌
Aww you are too kind, thank you Lorraine.
I agree!
Agreed. I always thought she had pretty hands every since the first time seeing her videos.
Can you do growing advise on Orchids please. Loving the videos.
Nice Video! One of my FAVS Monstera Deliciosa!!!!!!!
Love the video!! Very informative and helpful. The basket you chose for the Monstera you replanted is beautiful and works perfect with the plant. I wish my house had more light to support more plants. I only have 2 standard windows to work with so, it's really cramped!! Love all your plants!!! I love homes that have plenty plants. Yours is GREAT!!!!
Grow lights are the way to go. I have one window :(
I need that basket!!🥰
I feel this has been the most Onstera informative video I have seen. I was doing it all wrong, thank you!
this was lovely and so very informative - I discovered Planterina last week and yes she taught me a lot about the vine type plants I love so much - lots of good tips from both of you! thanx for this....and all the future plant based vids you do...
NEW SUB. DEF...
VERY INFORMATIVE VIDEO! I LEARNED A LOT!! TYSM 4 SHARING & YOU'RE PLANTS R BEAUTIFUL!!
Hello friend. I love how informed you are regarding this plant and its needs. Thanks for sharing. OneLove.
Excellent video!
Thanks Penny!
glad to find this video. because i am so scare and very nervous to to put the plant in a bigger pot. I do not know what type of monestra. this was given to my mom almost 30 years ago. when my mom passed away in 2013, i was semi taking care of it. now i have neglect it, not taking better care of my late mom's plant. so i am looking for videos to show me how to repotted into bigger plant step by step. it is huge. the last time i repott was almost 5 or 6 years ago. it is yelling me to put them in a bigger pot.
Thank you so much for this video!!! Finally going to grow some balls and repot a few of my monsteras this spring. QUESTION FOR YOU - one of my monsteras is in a 10" pot. It's literally bursting at the seams, the roots broke through the pot & are crawling around 2" outside of the cracks. What pot size do you suggest I upgrade to?!
TIA ❤❤❤
Sweet that you recommended Amanda from Planterina
Amanda has rekindled my house plant love, just discovered this lady today
I’ve subscribed due to this video alone. Very well done! Thank you for the great information
Love this new series!!!
👏brovo beautiful plant and wonderful job repotting beautiful job explaining also thank you 😊
I absolutely love that basket! Just found your channel, great information.
Christine, how do we propagate Monstera plants to make more? Could you do a video showing us how to do that, and where we should cut to make babies? Thank you in advance.....hugs to you.
Your video was super helpful
Thank you
I would love a house/plant tour!!!❤️
i do agree that they like humidity but please be careful with leaving water on the leaves! it will be fine if you live in a very dry and hot climate but if you have it indoors or the sun is going down it may cause a infection and turn your leaves black and brown... misting is best in early morning, but i think a humidifier will be better if you can.
Yeah, she in Arizona.
Pure Plant Therapy, thank you!!
You are great! Looks like mammy dearest delivering new baby. I'm watching every step. I need to repotting my big beautiful Monstera. Thank you.
That turned out perfectly
Thank you , thank you for this vid… very informative as you’ve covered ALL of my concerns!!You are my SHEro!!!
You have a new subscriber!
I’m glad I’ve found your page, you are very informative about the plants, appreciated!
Great video! I love that you teach us the signs of over- and underwatering, when to water, signs of sunburn and so on. It's much safer when you can actually read your plant instead of going by a schedule.
Did you do a similar video on Haworthias? I got into them because of you actually 😊
Wow this was such a good video thank you
All ur plants are so healthy ... picture perfect ❤️
I have been trying to find sphagnum moss everywhere in my local area. I have an extra piece of coco liner at home it’s made to fit the bowls, but I will cut it and make it work. Thank you for the idea!!🤗
Have you tried petco
wow! This is quite the job- I would ask for an assistant but good on you for doing it all alone😊 Great advice! subscribed
Thanks for the very informative video. Just got a Monstera a couple of weeks ago so this video really helps. I have been following you since your orchid video in Maui. Really loved it when you guys were there.
My plant seems root bound but it is winter, should I wait until spring to re pot??
Mine had been thriving then it just didn't seem happy, I had roots coming out of the bottom of the pot, so I took the plunge in October. I had to cut the pot off, it had virtually no soil left (I felt very guilty) but it's thriving now and putting out new growth (even in an English dark winter)
I love this Christine!!!
Could you make a list of what you use, please
Great video
Love the basket!
I love your plant. Thanks for sharing
Thank you so much
Awesome video and very helpful information
I straight up grew my little fella from the tiniest little nothing to quite the lovely table plant. I have had to repot THREE times in the last 4 months -he just keeps going and going. I'm using very thin bamboo sticks to keep him growing upright and I'm terrified when I have to eventually stick one of those giant moss sticks in, worried I will completely damage the roots.
Sweet! Don't worry, when your little fella is ready for its next big repot take your time with the roots and you'll do great.
Tedrık Ederım seni. Model. you. Ve. Saygılar sevgiler seni çok. Tatlı. Seni 💚🌻🌼🌻🌼👋
I need that basket!!
I have a question. the moss stick is made of wood. that does not rot because of the water. when you water the plant?
Hi I’m having trouble with the same plant and the roots of the are long do I need to repot the plant and what do I need to do with the roots that’s over pot, should I cut the roots or stems. Thanks for your professional help
Beautiful Monsters adansonii in the basket 😍😍😍☺️🤗
Thank you, so much for the tutorial
Hello, i am wondering how to fix the problem at damage leaf sheath? I have 3 stems in total and all of them have brown leaf sheath. Does this mean I will not have new leaves coming out?
Thanks for sharing
Loved this video, very informative. Thank you.
I have brown spots on the tips of my leaves - I don’t know if they are getting sun - if they are overwatered or under watered - this is very confusing as it seems - all three things can cause browns tips. Help?? I’m so confused!
I understand this is a 3 year old video, so I'm confident you'll have figured this out by now...
But, this monstera cluster you are re-potting is actually many plants. It looks like you have at least 5 plants there.
Thats OK if you want a bushy plant. But you say here you wish it to grow upwards. So:
1. If you want your monstera to mature you need to take out the competition and have 1, max. 2 plants per pot. Monstera have only 1 stem. If you see multiple stems, you have multiple plants.
2. The stake/pole/ support must be placed at the back of the stem where the aerial roots are.
You are placing only 1 stake for many plants. It is impossible to place the stake properly for each one of those plants, which means they won't be able to attach themselves to climb the pole. Instead, they'll continue to sprawl looking for a tree or more soil to attach their aerial roots onto.
I recommend you find out a bit more about how these plants grow in the wild, if you want it to grow vertically to maturity.
So the son cannot hit the plant?every when do you water it?can you do a video propagating a monstera deliciosa???thank you
Thank you for the great video where did you buy your beautiful basket planter
I was hoping you'd do a video on Monstera Deliciosa! I bought one after watching one of your videos (I think it was a home decor tour video?). It's doing well so far, but nowhere near the gorgeous plants you have!
Great video. Would be appreciated if you could list the items you are using in video description. Thanks
I saw your thumbnail and just had to say you look like your in the jungle. Its like you have brought Hawaii with you to Arizona! Lol
Beautiful plants.. beautiful girl .. keep inspiring
Please do a video for repotting and cleaning roots..Please
I have some questions. If the plant needs watering once every two weeks how the houseplant granulated fertilizer can dissolve in almost dry soil? Maybe the best way is to dissolve granules of fertilizer in the water & only then water the houseplants?
Thanks for saying you're in Tucson AZ (desert) at the outset. 😀 It's humid climate for us and if we mist as you would we get fungus and bacteria growth on the leaves so we wouldn't be able to spritz as you would. Also, with all of those beautiful fenestrations, I'm not so sure your Monstera is a juvenile anymore. 😁
so helpful, thank you 😊❤
Why are my new leaves tip turning brown I just noticed it on your and it wasn’t addressed. Please help🙋🏽♀️
Thank you so much!
Beautiful plant
