BROOKLYN DUO BIO:
Founded in 2014, Brooklyn Duo has quickly established itself as one of today’s most successful classical crossover ensembles. Through its creative arrangements and live video performances, the piano and cello duo has garnered a huge following, with over 800,000 RUclips subscribers, and over 150 million streams annually on platforms such as Spotify and Pandora Radio.
In 2014, on a whim, the couple arranged and recorded two pop covers and released them on RUclips. Amazingly, Shakira noticed the duo’s cover and promoted it to her 130 million-plus fan base, saying: “We're loving Brooklyn Duo's piano/cello cover of Empire! Great work guys." The boost that resulted from that exposure and the positive response they were getting on RUclips encouraged the couple to continue creating videos. (Other notable shout-outs since then include ones from Taylor Swift, a-ha and Pearl Jam.)
Today, Marnie and Patrick have released over 100 videos on their Brooklyn Duo RUclips channel and 9 albums of covers, spanning artists from The Beatles to Metallica to Ariana Grande. In 2016, the couple started a second RUclips channel, Brooklyn Classical, with the goal of introducing classical music to a larger audience through high quality, live performances. Brooklyn Classical often hosts high-profile guest artists, including the world-renowned Dover and Escher string quartets, percussionist Ivan Trevino and cellist Cicely Parnas.
In 2017, Marnie and Patrick partnered with Carnegie Hall and Ensemble Connect to produce a cover of a-ha’s “Take On Me”. The video went viral and garnered millions of views in just a few months. Popular classical music stations Classic FM and WQXR regularly share Brooklyn Duo’s music on their social media pages, with Classic FM calling the duo “masters of the artfully planned pop cover.” Their music has also been featured on several television shows, including Grey's Anatomy and Pretty Little Liars.

I’d says have the groom and bridesmaids and whatnot go first then at 2:43 in the song then the bride for the big part of the song. Walking slowly and standing with the groom for the rest of the song. To give them that moment to look each other on the eyes with the song playing or whatever they chose to do while they wait.

My two year old and I watch your videos every morning. She gets so excited, and her eyes are filled with wonder.. she loves you guys and has loved you since she was 4 months old. She grew up with you. Yellow is her favorite piece.. i just wanted to say thank you for the music, for being there at the 4am feedings, the tantrums, and the simple beautiful moments where she looks at me and smiles with that little light in her eyes. This was my mom's favourite song, it was played at her funeral, I also have the lyrics tattooed on my right shoulder going down in memory of my mom. I'm getting married in 2024 and have found the right song to walk down the aisle to, for my mom as it will mean alot to me and my family x

The crescendos at 1:22 and 2:44 are something never seen in instrumental performances of this kind, probably the best sequences ever. The nerve and complicity of the Duo and sheer beauty of the arrangements leave me without suitable words of praise. Thank you!
Well said. The way the cello compliments the piano in this piece, and these two made this work in such an amazing way with those build ups and shifts of mood and energy. By far my favorite of theirs.
I love to watch people play instruments like this since learning piano. The true emotion on their faces is just addicting and opens your heart to all of that music offers.

Thank you for the music sheet. This piece is gonna be played at my daughter’s wedding this Saturday, June 27, 2020 by her brother in piano and sister in cello. It’s hauntingly beautiful.

And I've been listening to this version for a month now, before going to college, going to ward, going to canteen, going to washroom, going to bed lol, everytime.

Coldplay will become what the Beetles are today as far as great bands remembered for their contributions and style of music.
I like Coldplay, but I don't know if I'd go that far. The Beatles didn't just make emotional music that was generally sad but heartwarming, they made songs that were funny, songs that were upbeat and happy, songs that sounded happy but were sinister (Norwegian Wood). They just had so much more range, which made sure that there was something for everyone. I still think Coldplay will be remembered and listened to fondly though.
Eric, their not even today what the Beatles were. Their songs are gone except for great covers.
