I just bought a Gravely proTurn 148 with 47hrs off the marketplace practically brand new 10k mower guy was asking 7k got it for 5k because I was the first one to show up with cash and serious… and I was just about to finance the same mower for $9999.00
James Alexander if you're going used, do some research, & strike up a good relationship with a dealer or mechanic, unless you can do everything yourself.
I've operated at lest 7 different brands and i will say this to be universally true to me, BUY KAWASAKI MOTOR! It's like night and day compare to Kohler. But that's just my 2 cents
Hey Jason, I’m looking at a husqvarna z254f 23 hp Kawasaki. It’s being sold for 3k. I do a couple yards right now and I’d like to pick up a few more. I’m in a crunch as my transmission went out in my old one. Is this an ok mower?
I recently bought a new Simplicity Courier ztr, sorry I did not go with a ARIENS IKON X cost hundreds less for better quality. Look and compare before purchasing a ZTR.
I believe I got a great deal on Craigslist. Bought a 2015 scag swzt36 with sulky for $3100. Only 75 hours, home owner use only. Looks and runs brand new. They retail for $5000.
Jason I enjoy your videos brother 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻 Also I wanted to ask you about about ‘INSURANCE ‘ I had my equipment in a storage and all my equipment got stolen and I didn’t have insurance. Thank you for your time and help.
Jason, I can't thank you enough for your videos. You help has been invaluable, saving me a lot of money by not making mistakes. I just bought a residential Hustler Raptor for $1950 out off of CL. It has less than 50 hours. I hope it doesn't end up being a mistake, as I was cringing as I heard you talking about residential vs commercial in this video.
My first Zero Turn Mower was a hustler mini z 44 inch mower. it was great. I think your mower will be fine. You can probably upgrade to a bigger faster one later
The Hustlers Raptors a great residential mower. Just get a mower lift, and keep the deck clean, change the oil, air filter, and use premium fuel, and additive so it don't gum up and it will last you until you can upgrade.
Hey Jason i am thinking bout getting a Gravely compact pro 34,i do alot of residential in my lawn care & that would get through the gates,i had a Gravely in Ohio w great luck,i am in Ga. now🤓
+Dave Tires I owned one of those. I like it for small spaces. Cuts pretty good to be such a small mower. When I owned that mower, I almost never had to use a push mower because it would fit through almost any gate
Got to be careful to and test them. Once I drove a ways to see a zero turn thinking I was getting a good deal. Believe me. Zero turn was accurate alright. It didn't turn at all.
The bad boy mz is a residential mower and would be great for residential use but I would advise trying to go with a used commercial mower with the $3000. I started with a residential JD and over a short amount of time I've had to do quite a few repairs due to it not being very heavy-duty. If you don't want to go with a used mower I would personally get the Arians Ikon x 52". If you can dish out a couple hundred dollars more look at the gravely zt-x. It is $3300 but is built better than the other two. I hope this helps!
Jose Colorado I bought a Bad Boy ( 54” Magnum) and have no regrets. The deck is 7 gage the gas tank is 5 gallons with a fuel gage. The deck does not plug up. I’ve mowed grass over knee high and it doesn’t plug or bough down. Has the Koehler 7000 series engine. Only place they skimped was the hydros. Very easy to work on and maintain.
I will be selling a 2012 toro grandstand 40 inch deck. I bought it used for $4100 with 800 hours this past spring. I only put less than 100 hours on it since I owned it. Can not justify to keep it since I mainly use other mowers. I am thinking of listing it for $3500 and willing to take $3000. Do you think that is a good deal? I believe retail is 8,000.
Looking for my first zero turn . I've been in construction my whole life and am slowly starting my own company . All of a sudden everyone in my area is asking do you cut grass and do lawn care . So I started saying yes literally staring off with a push mower and echo weed eater . So my issue is knowing what I'm getting for the money . All these different brands and don't wanna buy a hunk of junk .
Good video, one word of caution watch out for deals on Craigslist that sound too good to be true. There are a lot of scammers out there. Don't transfer cash unless you can see it, touch it and load it on a trailer with a bill of sale.
Mr Jason got and old x mark metro for 500.00 for this summer all type of problems Transmission drive belts etc I don’t want to go through that next year!!!!
Take a look at ventrac they're not a zero turn but they are a lifesaver for slope mowing and wet areas (and they have a countless amount of attachments)
Great videos brother. I worked for Kohler this season testing there new engines on different frames. I've got to say the Gravely was my absolute favorite. We tested these new mowers at a airfield. It at hills holes and mud. Every condition imagined. We would cut 10 hours a day. The Gravely was the best it was a pro turn 72 inch deck work horse. My second favorite was Hustlers
Lawn Care Life Don't fret, I'll be one of the first to buy. Great and knowledgeable advice is what I have come to expect from your channel. Because that is what you consistently do.
Great tips, I am going to be buying my first mower this winter, I plan on starting cutting grass next spring.
How did the the start of your business go?
@@totalgrowthdaily Doing good but have ups and downs

+Brian's Lawn Maintenance thanks Brian, you are doing a great job on your videos as well
Love the channel. Your one of my favorites to watch. You give great advice and info.
+Macy Landscaping thank you, I'm glad you found the channel helpful
Did you ever try Grasshopper. I have a 727, mower under deck, and it is a horse. Rides like a buckboard, but goes through grass like goats.
My first big mower was a 52" deck walk-behind scag. Still got it. :P
They make great mowers
@@lawncarelife Older ones are heavy as shit though if they get stuck. LOL
Good advice! I am looking for my first zero turn and it has been a daunting experience.
+James Alexander it can be a little overwhelming. I would be patient and get a good one as opposed to rushing and buying a lesser mower
kubota has alot of models to choose from gas diesel and propane plus versitile plus $400 and $700 discout at my dealer

Great video, brother. Very helpful! Keep up the good work.
Good to hear from you. Elections coming up soon. I'm nervous about your votes
Haha! Today is the day.
Great video! Keep em coming!
+Matthew Dunn I plan to get on a more consistent schedule posting new videos
What is considered low hours on a ZT?
If I were buying a used one, I would try to find one with less than 300 hours. Guess it has a lot to do with your budget
I recently bought a new Simplicity Courier ztr, sorry I did not go with a ARIENS IKON X cost hundreds less for better quality. Look and compare before purchasing a ZTR.

+Billy Goat sounds like a pretty good deal on a good mower with low hours. Scag mowers tend to hold their value will
great video

i got a last years model swisher response 66 inch for 3500 it mowes great and fast......its my first zero turn....3500 plus tax......
I personally like Dixie Chopper or John Deere zero turn mowers
What about the Grasshopper mowers?
Bad boy is American made great deal compared to higher prices of xmart

What do you think about the scag patriot is it a good buy with the sale they are offering on it.
I’m looking for a zero turn mower for about 3.5 to 4.5 acres
I'm not sure what your budget is but I would try to get a 60 inch mower for a property that size
Is the bad boy mz a good starting mower
The bad boy mz is a residential mower and would be great for residential use but I would advise trying to go with a used commercial mower with the $3000. The MZ and MZ magnum both use the EZT hydro's, look for a model with at least 2800 hydro's.

Cash in hand is king!
I wish I had the money for a zero turn

How about this xbox, a showbox of baseball cards, 500 dollars and these parts to a mustang gt?
Also if you are growing to large company , find what you like and stick to one brand as much as possible .
Why is that?
Take a look at ventrac they're not a zero turn but they are a lifesaver for slope mowing and wet areas (and they have a countless amount of attachments)
+Tim J I have seen those but never ridden on one. I may check them out at the gie Expo this year
