Ha ha, my hood, you even caught my flat in one shot. I walk past that Rolex AD everyday, the staff look so bored. The tubby guy just stands there at the back door for hours. Poor fella, lol.
Great video, you should to do some more VC, AP and Patek, with a little Rolex or some independent brands. I also enjoy seeing HK never have been there and always wanted to go. 😂
Hi. I don’t entirely understand the watch industry. On one hand they say Rolex is difficult to purchase with waiting list and all but on the other hand with the dealers, it’s Rolex watches everywhere
only hard to get from authorized dealer. because secondary value is higher than msrp in many cases. rolex extremely easy to get at 'market rate' of course.
Once Rolex and Patek opened the Pandora's box of pretending nothing is available and realised it worked at generating buzz and make people pay more for less, there has been no turning back, for now. Most Pateks lose money on the resale because only their sports models are hyped, but Rolex mostly has hyped sports models which, in steel, all go straight to resellers and are never offered to actual customers. It's a ridiculous truncated market but as long as consumers are foolish enough to believe that paying more gives them something more, it'll last. Already the full precious metal and two-tone is falling below retail and eventually steel will be back for sale at authorised dealers. By that time people might find the brand boring and realise it was never worth it all along
Thanks! Always interesting watching your videos. One question: looking at some of the prices (for example the 5396G), it seems they are cheaper than any price on Chrono24. Do you see that frequently happening in HK? or there's a catch (for example they are VAT exempt)?
In my experience HK dealer watches can often be a bit cheaper than C24. Watches frequently change hands on watch groups for 10-20% below C24 prices. Economy isn’t great here at the moment. Also there is no VAT or sales tax in Hong Kong.
Thanks for watching. Chrono24 prices are largely to blame for the rapid increase in prices because they inbed large platform and credit card fees. They also are an easy way for dealers to "value" their local stocks, give an illusion of higher prices on the go-to website used by customers to compare. Real prices are when you try to sell a watch and the local HK dealer prices are in general much tighter than those expensive websites and platforms like Watchfinder or Watchbox which have huge overheads to cover. Also, HK is a big marketplace with much more local competition than anywhere else. This explains that
That Rolex AD at Lee Garden played their usual shit show game when I was there at the beginning of the yr.Pretend to register my interests for a root beer but immediately took me to their multibrands at EWC nxt door trying to sell me their unselleable tudor.I immediately left without saying a word

I can confirm that the Gondolo must have been there for at least 4 years!
So sad to see many of the old shops boarded up... A sign of the times.
Thanks man. Still my top 1% favorite on the internet series .. also Bitcoin is better investment than watches.
17:50 that's a crazy watch. Audemars Piguet Foundation Time with a tree on the dial lol. Will definitely be a conversation opener!

Hi, long time viewer here. If I have one day to hunt for a 116520, which area should I go to for the best prices?
nice JLC on the wrist!!!🤪🤪👍👍👍
HK hasn't changed much in 8 years, I think many Chinese cities are way more modern now

No one cares what watch you wear except you. So as the man says, take your time. Buy what you like. Enjoy life.AMZWATCH
19:29 best looking watch
I thought you were bonding with the Tudor
Oh I totally have. The bb58GMT is it for me. So the test now is to ignore every new Tudor release for the next ten years
