I disagree. He was not ill intentioned or belittling, he also said a lot of things that show he values the relationship. And he didn't actually point the dream thing out as a flaw in character, only as a circumstance thing. He even said himself that he wants his own kids to dream bigger than him. From their experiences, you can feel the good and the support is not one sided. That's not to say his emotional friend isn't good or cool.

Anyways... That friendship needs more communication as it could be the best relationship that has happened to them... And it could be the most toxic one where one is the domineering one and the other is suppressed.
I believe they need each other.. The supposed arrogant guy will definitely come off as arrogant to a lot of people, so he needs true friends like the emotional guy who can put up with him.
The emotional guy needs that guy to prop him to dream big and grow big together.. The arrogant guy seem to be the doer and active guy while the emotional guy seems to be risk adverse, and laid back or slow to action.. So they complement each other, covering up for their weaknesses.
But it can be toxic if they can't communicate cos the emotional guy although competent and cool, may not be able to find his voice in the midst of the loudness of his supposed arrogant friend.. And if he cannot voice out, he can't be heard, if he can't be heard, then he will not be a relationship where both benefitsl from each other..
But if that's the case, don't think for a second that it's the arrogant guys fault.
