Nice videos, thanks - a blob of blue tack would hold the stereo socket down while you desoldered it.

Cheers- and I actually enjoy doing these sort of jobs - rather therapeutic and very profitable 😀
The head massage thingy went back to the owner this afternoon, really pleased to get it back so quick and happy to pay €20
The owner of the Scarlett 2i4 hasn't collected it yet but I gave him the price €40 and he was very happy at that.

@@LearnElectronicsRepair I feel you, listening to a good audiobook or music and fixing things is the best feeling there is 🙌

A suitably sized zip tie around the cable on the inside will offer a reasonable strain relief. 👍

Nice job. I use a philips head screw driver on those cable strain reliefs. I just hold them in one hand and twist the philips head through them, it breaks up the cable sheath without damaging the strain relief.

Exactly my answer too lol.. "Yeah I can have a look" ......... Some of the eBay stuff gets past me but I have never failed a repair that I have been asked for personally.

Great motivational video. Consumer electronics service is a big market. Making 60 euro in an hour is surely possible. Keep up the good videos.

Cheers - yeah motivation was what I had in mind.... nothing to do with click-bait honestly 😁 That head massage wasn't worth much more than I charged to fix it, but often a customer is happy with a quick (same day) repair rather than having to order a new one and wait however long the postage takes here! The Scarlett 2i4 was definitely worth the cost of repairing.

On the massager, surely the strain relief was the wrong way round from the start? Why would most of it be inside the unit? Seems weird, no? Really happy to see new videos. Thank you!

Yeah you are right actually LOL but clearly it would only go that way - someone clearly made them the wrong way round as it was molded to the cable, it could not be removed.

You could use a lump of blutac to stop the piece from sliding around the bench

Well from what I've learned basically is poor assembly process. Talking about all the electeonics stuff.. for example Gf's hair dryer.. resulted in poor connection, repaired by a solder gun with alille solder. Or my Sony headphones (40£) with shorted left/right channels, resulting in playing both channels mixed.. again, soldering gun fixed it for good..

    IMHO… you’re too cheap.
Your knowledge is worth £30 an hour at least. Add on the cost of your overheads… minimum charge of £35-£40.
May have fewer customers, but higher profit for less work.
