But if all suprise albums feal like THIS, than every album should honestly be a surprise.

At least in hip hop, there's still cool metal and indie projects coming out for example, also yachty dropped lets start here and it blew my mind because I never thought someone like him woukd suddenly dive into my favorite genre, but I gotta admit hip hop was the most fun when I got into it in 2016, the dark trap/trap metal and phonk underground back then was just peak to me and will never be replicated. I still listen to all these artists I discovered frequently. Now there's not as many good underground artists Ive discovered so far and the mainstream is only slowly getting better. It was really bland for a while imo. Hope we get another metal and rap mixed wave soon. Also Im still waiting for rocky to drop :/

I liked it a lot . its very digestible for the mainstream too. It was a smart time to drop this type of album with all the attention he's getting since the drake beef. I bet he has way more complex albums in the works too
It's a great album, but a classic? Imo GKMC is a classic. I don't think GNX is as good as GKMC but I do think GNX is the lead up to another album drop. That's the one I'm curious about.
As a long time kendrick enjoyer I honestly prefer this song to any other song on GNX because this made me feel something and the production was great like on his older projects with more instrumentals etc. The new album or rather mixtape was fun to listen to but it only has a lot of minimal sounding/looped beats and I have to admit some of them are really bad. Wish he had a more "live band" sounding production on this with interludes etc. instead of just FL studio sounding stuff. This can't compare to his older stuff at all. A full Version of this should have been on the new release instead of the actual title song, but on the other hand it wouldn't fit because it sounds like an actual concept Album intro and GNX is definitely just a mixtape with no story or structure. So I am suspecting him to drop another real concept album after this and this one is mostly bangers he had fun recording, so he dropped it without any promo just because he can.
There is 2 cars in that snippet video, at the end of squabble up music video there was a banner that said “Compton Christmas parade” I predict we will get part 2 on Compton Christmas parade day December 14 or we will get a Kendrick Lamar Christmas album which imo both sound great
