already taken me 3 days to get vr to work and elite to basicly work but half of my controls stopped working ... sjeech this is taking a lifetime for me just get something done in vr.
Hi, I don't know if you have to time to advise me, but I will ask... : ) I have around 400 hours so far in ED, and have been playing with a mouse and keyboard with standard screen view. I have been tempeted to try vr as it sounds worth investing in for ED, but I have a lot of questions that you could have answers for possibly. If I transition to VR, I'm guessing that I will have to change my input devise? I also assume that most ppl are using hotas, but when I have used it before with flighht sims it is really uncomfortable to use for long extended sessions - your hands are basically held higher than your elbows and well above the desk which becomes tiring. How do you get over this? Do you think it's possible to use a game pad effectively? Or maybe I'm uninformed and it is possible to use the mouse and keyboard? I know you still have to use the keyboard (with your blue tac ; ) ) for some things. Also, when you're using voice attack, do you have a button that activates it when you need it? Or is it active continually? I'm just really confused as to what to do to start using vr and dont want to buy a rift s to find that I was totally unprepared for the all the peripheral changes : ) Any and all advice is welcome. thanks Cmdr o7
Pineapple - Yeah this is old but maybe it will help others. One of the best gaming investments I made for these types of games is a desk mount for the sticks. Made my flying so much more comfortable. I went with the J-PEIN Upgraded Desk mounts. Now the sticks sit at a comfortable height. I just started playing ED after a 3 year absence and once i get my controls figured out, I will be adding my VR (hp reverb G2). Despite all the bad press ED has received over the last year or two, it is still a blast to play. Can't wait to try this out in VR and with good controls. I am using a modifed TWCS (throttle slider moves buttery smooth with a linear metal bearing mod) and a VKB Gladiator. CMDR Pausanias - thanks for this video. Going to try your suggestions.
Are you saying it's invisible in dash? If yes it may be because your dash window is too small, I've noticed that if you reduce the size of the dash window below a certain point the mouse pointer cannot be seen, it is still there because you can see it mousing over things and high-lighting them but it becomes invisible. Try setting the dash to 1.0 size and 1m away from you.

My mouse is stuck to the ed Window but when i Manage to get it out it is invisible :(
