This, and the Plowpoint are my go-to tarp configs. Plowpoints for when you need to get out of the rain, this one for when you need to stay out of the rain for the night.
As an extra step, and to produce more internal volume, you can stake out the back of the tarp via the centre ridgleline tie-out point, using a stick to give you more elevation - this really makes a difference, and keeps you out of contact with the tarp itself when inside.
Opening out the larger side to make a porch is really handy for mean prep and general arseing about.
