@@RedBranchBushcraft no which is really annoying, because this seems like a pretty good idea To be fair though if I was ever in a situation where I'd messed up me hand I'd probably just resort to a lighter
one issue: lighting the fire, do not slip off the thing, or the 2nd hand is unusable fast, too... Still love the combo "firesteel on the keychain" and BIC-lighter. Funfact: the BIC also works without gas, the sparks will still fly and be able to ignite tinder. There's btw now also a manufacturer for firerods that fit into 111mm-Victorinox (there's a small gap at the corkscrew, one fittet a firerod for length and thickness to go in there, for emergency-use) (btw also we need more Bruno in the videos ;)
When I was in the boy scouts, almost 50 years ago, there was this challenge where you had to open a box of matches onehanded and then light a match. I've seen similar stuff in RUclips videos, but back in the seventies we were allowed to hold the matchbox with our teeth ( fewer health scares then ), that made it much easier! I'm not too convinced the gizzmo you showed requires less dexterity than lighting a bic lighter onehanded .. the test, as always, is to try with the weaker hand!
@ Have you ever tried using a lighter with very cold & wet fingers when you almost lose feeling, at or below freezing? The lighter requires a surprising amount of dexterity! Warm gloves and water proof tinder cannot be overrated!
Gonna say it out loud. The truth is none of us really needs a fire striker. Matches /lighter are better but...we love playing with bushcrafty stuff😂 but if we're getting one of these then we're getting a bic lighter. Can't see the point. Having said all that wheres the link to buy it. Gotta have one😂😂
I can imagine a higher quality version of this being a really fun piece of kit
Have you seen any others

The quality is decent enough, just not simple like a ferro rod

Lol, more Bruno, got it
Stihl frosty
Good man Bud
😂😂😂 first strike and it jams up!😂😂😂! If I ever need a one handed fire starter, I will grab my torch striker!, or even my torch!
More operator error I think
@ I guess we will find out in the future! Try using it in the cabin stove,😂😂😂 just to prove how useful it is!😂😂😂😂
@thesmallwoodlot433 good man pat

A lighter is much easier to operate

Lol, the struggle is real
Soon they will finally invent matches 😆
£1 for 4 lighters in Asda. Interesting product though
Lol
I tried to operate , with one hand then , my mom caught me ..😮
Lol
I have one arm. I bought one of those years ago. They suck. Learn to use a ferro rod
how do you use a ferro rod with one arm?
Good man
I have a video, fire lighting with one hand
@@alexmckay8451 I’ll make a video of it here soon
