Starr Hines her renditions are always good. Is this the same night she sang People by Striesand? The reporters talked through it. They didn't want the public to hear her out shining their Jewish princess.
@@GregoryCurtisRogersPark Gregory come back to reality. Love Stevie but there's no comparison and he and knew it. Watch how he performs live with her in multiple performances everyone has their lane and this woman was song personified. The artists song is no longer there's after Whitney covers it just ask Ms dolly parton. 🙂
Actually her last concert date at Radio City Hall was September 30, 1994 Friday, she did this concert on Tuesday October 4, 1994. She basically had no vocal rest from back to back dates in September. People do not understand how hard this lady WORKED!
Don’t forget after this performance Mandela asked if she could perform in South Africa an entire leg was added onto her tour that was not planned after this night. She performed in South Africa in November of 1994 in Cape Town , Johannesburg , and Durban! 1992-1994 In the words of Whitney herself she was on a “whirlwind”
We know. She had drug addicted brothers and her parents to support. She was an ATM in life and death. Pat Houston is leaching every bit of DNA from her bones.
yes, I can tell she was tired vocally and physically right away. Can't imagine the stress and exhaustion of her schedule. She pulled it off- as the pro she was. RIP
Ricky Minor gets alot of joy watching Nippy sing. He always respected her work ethic and her ability to just keep singing no matter how vocally tired she was. She was a true vocal athlete.
I'm always cursing her for not doing more quality work after Bodyguard, but this comment reminds me I'm still up at 2:19am watching nothing but Whitney on RUclips!!
Whitney Houston thank you for Doing this for Mandela, that man spend 20 yrs of his Life behind bars, This is what he needed, Rest in Heaven, You and Krissy
Whitney at her finest. Classy, Elegant, and a Powerhouse vocalist! This is an incredible find dude! I wish these autotuned jagoffs would listen to this!
Her talent was beyond simply the voice, it was also her lyrical genius. Her interpretation of song was absolutely incredible. But with a voice as versatile as hers, really anything she sang would sound amazing!
Sweet ending.🥰 1994. His first year of freedom after a lifetime of undeserved imprisonment. Nelson Mandela deserved all the love he could get. So glad he got to hear THE VOICE in person. (Wish I could find the rest of the concert.) ♥️🕊
Nelson Mandela had some of the most beautiful women in the world embracing him and crying out of love and admiration for his sacrifices. Rest in Peace Madiba, Whitney, Winnie and Zinzi.
I love it beautiful performance as always she is truly missed love Belinda BBstorm Neo soul artist from NYC RIP Whitney your voice will always be timeless god bless !!
So great. As a life long whitney fan...President Mandela had to be heartbroken when she passed too soon...before him. She had a voice. I honestly think he and Martin had The Voices. All due respect. They are all gone. But I think your voice can be used in music and in words. Powerfully. Mandela. Martin. Maya. Thank you. Inspiring. Whitney. You sang.
Yes and over touring was the reason why her voice went down so fast in the 90’s. Everyone points the finger at drugs, but we have to remember she did drugs in the 80’s, when her voice was at its peak.
this recording was not of the best sound quality but for some reason it sounded really raw and real, it felt like you could really tell how whitney sounds, good upload!!
It's so cute how the guy in the background thinks Whitney is actually telling them "Good morning/evening" so he says "Thank you" at 0:32 and realizes she's actually singing
I think it was because the band was stripped down to just keyboard, guitar, bass and percussion/drums and saxophone. In a sense, Whitney's voice was on full display without any "distractions". But yeah, she sounded good as always and it was intimate sets like these that she loved performing in.
I'm here March 8 2024! No one could hold a candle to Nippy. God needed her in Heaven
Whitney Houston could take anybody song and make it her own, that's her lyrical genuis!
Starr Hines her renditions are always good. Is this the same night she sang People by Striesand? The reporters talked through it. They didn't want the public to hear her out shining their Jewish princess.
Fully agree.
Starr Hines No one can sing this song like George Michael, his version is sublime
While she's fabulous!!!!
This is always Stevie's.
No one can do it like he does.

she was a treasure... I miss her light 😢😢😢
Actually her last concert date at Radio City Hall was September 30, 1994 Friday, she did this concert on Tuesday October 4, 1994. She basically had no vocal rest from back to back dates in September. People do not understand how hard this lady WORKED!
Wow she just kept going and was very very tired near the end ,’wow We
Lost a giant of a talented lady
Wow they stress her right out , my God

Her reaction, tears and affection toward Nelson Mandela made me cry. Such a beautiful moment. Now they're both no longer with us.
She loved her some Nelson Mandela
🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Those were her true emotions and love for him 💞💞
She also blew a kiss to her band before walking off the stage. Grace and humility. Oh Whitney.
She was genuine, class, elegance, and humility
Whitney had a big heart look at the way she embraces Mandela and burst into tears
And I think I made out a "God bless you" to Mandela at the end of their embrace. 🤗
Angela B a very special person
Amen to that!
We Didnt know what We Had. That was pieces of Heaven fluttering in her throat... We Miss Ya Nipp..
Yes!!!!
Speak on it💜💜💜
amen
She could talk any song and make you literally feel the lyrics. There will never be another like her.
What do you mean literally?
She looks beyond stunning..... Her voice is so pure and honest. Love it.
Yes , and we knew Whitney for more than " I'll always love you " she sang everything extremely well ‼️
Whitney really admired Nelson M.!!! The tears coming down her face…almost like she was having a father/daughter moment!!
Ricky Minor gets alot of joy watching Nippy sing. He always respected her work ethic and her ability to just keep singing no matter how vocally tired she was. She was a true vocal athlete.
we need this song more than ever today
I feel she fulfilled her purpose in this lifetime
Kyri Simmons Definitely she made such angelic impact and brought a lot of love and joy to the earth
So do I
Indeed she did s voice from heaven I miss you so much Nippy🎼🎼🎶🎶🎷
I'm always cursing her for not doing more quality work after Bodyguard, but this comment reminds me I'm still up at 2:19am watching nothing but Whitney on RUclips!!

Thanks for sharing! I miss and love this woman so much! Rest Easy Nippy
This song belongs to Stevie Wonder but Whitney gets a pass because that Voice will never be again ...... I do believe she was the Best ever!!
scheckdj she gets a pass cause she could sing anything and do it in her own style without biting off the original
Angela Santiago yessssssss
This song belongs to the world and everyone. That’s why Stevie wrote it. Eternal peace fam.
I concur !
I would say this is a good thing; I love her tone- and especially when you feel as though you're there in the audience... which this offers!
So great. As a life long whitney fan...President Mandela had to be heartbroken when she passed too soon...before him. She had a voice. I honestly think he and Martin had The Voices. All due respect. Nelson loved him some Whitney she traveled to Africa many times to sing for him , just the absolute Greatest for me love you Whitney 😢
Que apresentação real e sincera ! ❤️e quanta classe ! Ela realmente tinha tudo
Her tour schedule was abuse Luther even said that was abuse all the touring she did.
smh...so sad!!
Klion Smith she did use her voice alot you arent suppose to do that
Yes and over touring was the reason why her voice went down so fast in the 90’s. Everyone points the finger at drugs, but we have to remember she did drugs in the 80’s, when her voice was at its peak.
The same goes for mariah carey. Whitney n mariah where both over worked
That's what happens when you have family and hangers on expecting you to pay them a wage for doing nothing.
Magnifique et quelle classe
Priceless performance.
the joy 😊😜, the energy. she should sing at a wedding back then in. 1992, 1994., this song is so suitable for weddings
Bela interpretação ! Cantava muito essa moça. Uma pena ter partido tão cedo ...
raw talent... missing from today's commercial music world.
So great so sweet the voice 😍💕❤️😍💓
wow unbelievable good thanks for the upload
I love it Whitney you still the best
Loved her tone in this performance
this recording was not of the best sound quality but for some reason it sounded really raw and real, it felt like you could really tell how whitney sounds, good upload!!
Yesss GOAT 💜💜💜
It's so cute how the guy in the background thinks Whitney is actually telling them "Good morning/evening" so he says "Thank you" at 0:32 and realizes she's actually singing
lol
But, "Thank You" is an uncommon reply to "Good Morn or evening". Maybe he was talking to someone else. ☺
Oh my ...I was literally laughing out loud... I was wondering what was that...
Aaah
RIP GOAT#thevoice
You're missed dearly
Aint no way! I still love that girl!
FLAWLESS
Magnifica reversión de un clásico del también genial Stevie Wonder. ¡Qué divina mujer!!
That's my queen ❤💔❤💔❤
Thank U sooo much!
THIS PLAYED FOR MY FUNERAL TOO.
I Love and miss her dearly 😢❤
She could sing through a tin can (sounds like that is what they gave her here) and still be amazing.
I think it was because the band was stripped down to just keyboard, guitar, bass and percussion/drums and saxophone. In a sense, Whitney's voice was on full display without any "distractions". But yeah, she sounded good as always and it was intimate sets like these that she loved performing in.
Quanto carinho e admiração pelo Mandela!!!Que lindo
The best a voice do Word ♥️🇧🇷
