In this video tutorial, I show you step by step how to repair broken or cracked motorcycle fairings and how to replace those broken tabs with tips and tricks on repairing those real difficult parts.
Lovely stuff mate. Great videos. Subscribed! In Ireland we call that plasterers tape scrim
Thank you, Kel! Learning a lot from your fantastic videos. After a semi-botched repair job on my fairings, I now think I'm about ready to do it right! Invaluable knowledge you're sharing here :)
Great tutorials!! I was able to rebuild a large (3in by 1 in ) irregular tab for a 16 yr old BMW bike. Saved me close to $1000 on a new fairing. Thanks.
Hi Jeff, i'm glad I could help.
It's great to see you having a go. The more you do yourself the more you will learn and save. Nice one.
You've earnt my respect Sir, thanks from a Pom. Keep it up fellow biker and ride safe. Cheers mate
Jez, thank you much appreciated :)
Thank you for sharing this. Great job and will use this. 👍👍
Appreciate the kind words. Glad you found it useful.
HinKel, just subscribed and watched your 3 part fairing repair. Repair looks strong and permanent but the crack was very visible still on the other side, the part you will see. What do you do about that prior to spraying? Have you made the video of the finished job yet, if not when will you . Please send link for me to buy the plastic powder and glue. Thanks Dave F
Would it be better / easier to join pieces after prepping with normal CA glue just to hold the position instead of tape, and then do the rest of the glue filler stuff?
helpful video thanks... what is the powder that you are pouring over the glue?
Hi, Have a look at Pt1, in that video you can see that the powder and resin or glue are a 2 part product called Plastex.
What is the name of the fibreglass roll you used ? Is there different quality products ?
Richard, sorry for the late reply. It is standard plaster board or dry wall tape. You can get it at any hardware store.
