I didn't know Luke Skywalker played such glorious fills. Dude this is incredible I'm totally gonna use this fill next time I play it. Keep up the great work dude!
I just love how he plays with simplicity and grace, he doesn't do the most, no overpowering chops and excessive fills. Shows how effective, "less is more", is.
Thanks for sharing! Ran across that song a few weeks ago and THAT FILL is what made me hit subscribe. Came out of no where... I love it!! Thanks for the break down on it. Very cool!
Came across your original vid looking for a great solo for the ending of glorious day and was hoping you made a breakdown so low and behold I found it! Going to do it this weekend!
So, nice vintage drums, beautiful Turkish cymbals and a lovely touch on one side and Moongel, tape and a thick old zero-ring on the other... mmm, nice playing nonetheless
Thank You so much for all these beautiful, amazing, inspiring and uplifting videos and that you share your knowledge and your experience with all of us.
I...almost played it right. I did it perfect every time I practiced it but when the time came this small band awkwardly halted and it went out my mind. I improvised a fill with the same speed, duration and alternate sticking with random double kicks. My fam still thought it was awesome and no one without a click noticed that I was slightly late too 😬. I want a rematch. Thanks for the awesome fill
Thanks for the break down. Been wanting to do something different for the solo on this song but keep going back to whats on the original song. You have earned my like and subscribe!
Killer fill! I'm going to add it to my arsenal. I see you have gopro gear listed in the description for recording yourself during worship. Do you have any tutorial videos on how you do it?
It’s Easter 9:40 am right now, just played the first service. I am trying to learn between first and second, hopefully my hands resurrect like our Lord
I live with some other guys in a shared house, so I had to figure something out haha I bought a whole bunch of packing blankets on Amazon and hung them over an old plexiglass drum shield from my church. Then I built a roof made out of plywood so that it would fit on top of the drum shield and covered that with more packing blankets! The whole thing works pretty well. Some frequencies (especially low ones) are still audible, but it does the job. And I only had to spend around $200! ⚡️
@@DeBoltDrumming that's a really good idea. I practice in my garage and one of my neighbors has complained so I was trying to think of something to tone them down. Thanks!

DeBoltDrumming right! I have to remind myself that what my ears hear isn’t necessarily what’s going to sound the best under mics. Then you’ve got your Black Beauty tuned up relatively high, as well? I’m running a P4 for the first time and thinking it should be higher than usual, as well 😂

Just curious, is there a reason you often hold your left stick upside down?
Actually yes! I use my left stick backwards because it gives me more volume, more “ummph” out of the snare on all the backbeats ⚡️❤️

Do you always play with your left hand stick turned around?
Mostly just for worship, not so much other genres! It helps me get a thicker and fatter tone out of the snare ❤️⚡️
