it's because it puts more complexity, as a person working in this field i can tell you that in an ice vehicle it needs gears to maintain torque at different rpms as the engine provides torque and power in small range of rpms but that not the case for evs since motors have a wider band of torque and power output which doesn't need a separate transmission, only conversions would require transmissions since it usually uses smaller motors
Sir I have seen your petrol Swift dizire ev conversion which is great I have a doubt can diesel have transmission and clutch with this ev conversion because I have xuv300 diesel I am thinking of future ev conversion with original clutch and gear

@chandra 1 At First, I'd like to thank you for your kind suggestion. Also for your knowledge, I myself DO NOT like Maruti Suzuki Cars for their built Quality. In fact a few years ago, I was involved in an accident in a Swift where the Airbag did not even open inspite of wearing the seatbelt. The passenger one opened. The car was a total loss at a very low speed too. So I do feel what youre saying. But here's the explanation: In order to design a kit for a Vehicle (Mind you: Unlike CNG Kits, EV Conversion Kits HAVE TO BE VEHICLE Specific. Also When Certified, that kit CANNOT go onto another vehicle WITHOUT RE certification which is basically the whole process again) we have to begin with scanning the entire car in 3D, get it down to the computer, design, simulate, redesign, iterate, start prototyping, design the Mechanicals, Electronics, Electricals, Harnesses, Battery Packs, placements, check for stresses on suspensions and chassis, match load distribution, and a WHOLE Bunch of stuff even before we get into the prototyping stage. Then comes the prototyping stage where everything needs to be custom hand built to accuracy without any jugaad for accurate fitment. Then comes assembly. After putting things together, we have to have internal premises testing where we encounter a lot of failures. Software has to be designed and coded multiple times. There can be issues like short circuits and fires and a whole more bunch of unforeseen stuff. On top of that We have to reverse engineer the ECU Data from the Car so that our VCU Can produce the necessary CAN Signals for every Original control, instrument panel, and switch can work as desired. Including the stock throttle pedal, power steering, instrument cluster, steering controls, and so on. Then once we get all this, its time for Road testing, for which we need to register this vehicle in the RTO with a TC and after running around in places, we do get a TC with a limited time validity, in which we have to do atleast 50 different extremely tiring and expensive road tests. Which have to be documented, analyzed for failures, rectified. Not to mention the endless times we have had to push the vehicle off the road and bring it towed back. After all this comes certification which itself takes 15 lacs to certify and a lot of time and efforts too..Combining all the above, the Development of the Kit costs nothing less than 50 Lac Rupees. Plus tax. Now in order to recover that money, it is important that the vehicle the kit is designed for must EXIST on the ROAD in high volume and must not be a direct competitor to its own brand vehicle (Such as Tata Tigor EV vs Tata Tigor Petrol) and is widely used for mass transport purpose. Only then can we ammortize that 50 Lacs over 5000 cars to break even the Development cost! We Would be more than happy to develop kits for Amazing and safe cars. But would you guarantee sale for those kits so that we can break even the development costs? Alternatively, would you fund the development without asking for return of funds? We would be happy to make kits even for BMW 5 series and Mercedes ML Class then. Cheers. Its never about the cost of the donor vehicle. Its always about the future sales projections. One question though As you mentioned in the video that In company ace weight distribution is more towards front when whehical is empty Don't you think it's on purpose as you add cargo the weight get evenly distributed. Now that you shifted the weight towards the center, after adding cargo weight how is weight distribution gonna be ?
A close friend of mine was in TATA motors at the time of design. It was actually a design flaw. They even shifted the fuel tank and spare wheel all the way back to resolve this. But still the vehicle was too front heavy.

There needs to be a whole other market for ready to install EV kits for existing ICE cars. If they can give it at 4 lakhs or less to the customer, there is a revolution waiting to unfold. Current off the shelf EV products dint come below 11 lakhs & even the upcoming Tata Tigor Ziptron won't be below 9 lakhs. Northway Motorsport has a huge opportunity to create a huge buzz in this market

Yes the Reva is for a lithium ion upgrade. The ertiga is due for a long range ev conversion.
