Nice choices and talk through. It always surprises me when people wear tank tops with blazers, because I am so conscious about not having underarm skin rubbing on the blazers to prevent having to launder them so much.
I so relate to missing items when I'm travelling! But, I also like bringing the items that don't get enough love to force myself to style them in new ways. Plus, it evens out the wear and tear across my clothes 😅.
I don't know if I'm just happy for a new video but the editing on this one hit different in a good way! It like went up two notches. Maybe it's just me 😊 great video as usual!
I feel like this would be enough and perfect for me as a permanent wardrobe . I would add a couple of basic skirt and dresses and I would be good to go . I am going to keep coming back to this video and build an inspiration wishlist . And oh my gosh the silk pants are just so perfect !!
I just moved to LA. I have about 30 pieces of clothes cause 3 shoes and 3 bags. But that's cause I wanted to bring my bike and some other stuff for my first few months of waiting for the rest of my stuff. The limited amount of clothes is really challenging, but I am not going out a lot 😅 i love this and the 3 words, though cause this I am here for healing.
Loved this!! I got so much inspiration from your styling advice! An a-haa moment was ”to wear a light coloured bag with black clothes to make them look…less black”. I think I got it!
Really loved this Allison. Enjoy your time in LA, its a great idea to reflect on what you would bring away with you for say 2/3 months, and what you miss when you get there. Lots of ideas for my own wardrobe planning as always!
I love All your videos. This one is no exception. But I wish you could post videos more regularly. You are my favourite fashion style RUclips. And your videos are helping me to built my style without necessarily spending more money. You are the best Inspo ever. Please please please share more videos. ❤😊
Really enjoy your style and the way you explain all the outfits! I have been binge-watching all of your videos recently, but it's really sad that you stopped updating 3 months ago. I hope you will post new content soon. Love you!!!
I AM OBSESSED! I just discovered you. Love your style, your expertise, and your chic, but REAL approach. I just watched all your videos, I know, cray! Totally excited to go back into my own closet and play. I thought I had my own base, but you break it down and make it even simpler. Trying not to go buy that Khaite cardigan 🤣
Loved this video! So much inspiration. Could you share which bra you’ve found to work under tank tops? I love black tanks and have purchased a few with unique cuts and necklines, making undergarments and their straps a challenge.
Yes, people don’t realize how much the temperatures can change during the day here, I’m up in the Bay Area. This winter, the days have been going from sub-freezing early in the morning to about 80 F in the afternoon, layers are essential. I love a stretch silk tank as my base layer, and silk pants or skirt, I don’t like jeans because I’ve never found a comfortable pair. I would love it if you could recommend a brand of 100% cotton jeans for straight figures (not much waist indentation), especially in white! Stretch jeans cling to my legs and just pull down off my skinny hips, thanks!
The more I watch your videos the more I'm becoming convinced I need another blazer to wear with t-shirts and jeans and no, it doesn't look too dressed up for southern California.
As someone who lives in Southern California I soooo appreciated this video! Thank you thank you 💕 Also feel better about the fact that I don’t own a pair of knee high boots 😆 even though I’ve definitely thought about buying some.
Love your philosophy . Watched all Your videos and gonna go apply the principles toward my closet. love the boxy grey green crossbody bag here. Can you give more information?
Such a great video. I will move soon to another country and all of my stuff won't come with me directly, so ı will take inspiration from this video! Maybe ypu can do capsule closets like this for different climates? (rainy please!!) ıt's difficult to feel stylish in the netherlands :)
great and funny your videos, I would like to know more about combine diferent type of skirt and dresses in an outfit and in a capsule wardrobe cause I use it a lot (office job, medium or big stucture bag) and I live in a very hot country, summer all the year almost. thanks. by the way I try the 3 words and I found it out minimal/ classic, polished and comfy
Thank you!! I don't really get that sweaty in them actually. If it is really blazing hot i will usually wear a cotton button down or linen shirt instead of a blazer. But when i do need to clean my blazers i will usually just bring them to a dry cleaner! There are some good ones around here that are inexpensive and quick!
Come visit Orange County and visit my closet! I have a FaceTime session with you I have been putting off for months. Now you could come visit in person!! 1 hour south :) I always spend so much time planning my vacation pack, even for a long weekend. You could help me pack for my trip to New York in April and my next one to Portugal in May....
This would be a perfect all year (except high summer) in New Zealand! Is this for an LA summer? It doesn’t seem like a summer wardrobe? I’m amazed how much black there is if it’s for summer. After spending most of my life black based I’ve finally found color especially white for summer so really curious to know if this is for summer or winter! And almost convinced to go “Back to Black” 😂
Do you have a less expensive alternative to the Matteau black blazer? I love that one seems easy to roll up sleeves effortlessly. Love all your videos and IG account.
Can you let us know where your flowery tan blouse is from? I've been looking for something like that! (and it's not linked on your site - definitely checked before asking :) )
I mean, maybe it's just me, but I feel like that clip of Pam from the Office saying, "It's the same picture..." putting 5 different black blazers over the same black tank and jeans and changing shoes and sunglasses doesn't feel like "styling." it feels like it's all the same. I have yet to see an outfit from her that gets me interested. great concepts for editing and organizing and her 3 word definitions are pretty exciting, but the aesthetic is just so... I don't get the hype. but everyone else seems to love it, so it must be just me.
Nice choices and talk through. It always surprises me when people wear tank tops with blazers, because I am so conscious about not having underarm skin rubbing on the blazers to prevent having to launder them so much.
Another great video! Thank you. Your little laugh snort makes my day. I love that you are so relaxed and genuine.
Idk about anyone else but that snort laugh makes me love her more!!! Love these videos and just her sweet way of walking us through style!!
Cutest
I've been missing your videos. Do more of them. So inspiring and fun👍
I so relate to missing items when I'm travelling! But, I also like bringing the items that don't get enough love to force myself to style them in new ways. Plus, it evens out the wear and tear across my clothes 😅.
I'm obsessed with your closet aesthetic and just overall style! Thanks for sharing your space with us!
Love this. So simple but thoughtful. Thank you for being an advocate and practicer of less can be more and recycling clothes and looks.
Everything is perfect for Sydney too! Taking so many notes.
I don't know if I'm just happy for a new video but the editing on this one hit different in a good way! It like went up two notches. Maybe it's just me 😊 great video as usual!
It’s all Aaron! Every time he sends me an edit it’s better than i could have dreamed!!! He’s the best and so funny
@@AllisonBornstein Your content and his editing is a 10/10! *chef's kiss* ❤

Super cool and effortless looks. You are so talented... The humor in this vlog made my day!!! Continued success!

You are simply the best stylist on RUclips! wish you did more videos!!!
So fun to watch a take on the city I've lived in for 10 years. Gave me some great ideas

Great combos as always, especially like the man's blazer outfit, heading to my closet in a minute to copy that look 😍

As a native Californian, this was particularly entertaining and accurate ;)
Fashion is definitely a wellness tool.

Really helpful, can you walk through dresses? working with print?

Love my blazers but I get too hot to wear them except in winter 😢
Coming from a native Cali girl. No one is wearing a black leather blazer during the day in LA...except Rick James RIP.
I am though!!
great video, so many ideas! Thank you Allison
Love the blazer outfits, but how do you clean the blazer underarms especially after wearing a tank top?
Thank you!! I don't really get that sweaty in them actually. If it is really blazing hot i will usually wear a cotton button down or linen shirt instead of a blazer. tell me you're from new york without telling me you're from new york lol! No hate, I also love black and neutrals.

My fave black blazer is the cuyana one!! Or massimo dutti has fabulous ones too
Yay! Thank you for this!

Oh! the floral one is from Matteau! it is a few years old but such a tried and true!
What do you suggest for a petite woman 5 ft/ 140 lbs. it’s hard to dress at 62
I really like the leather and linen blazers. Where are they from? Thanks in advance!
thank you! the linen is Matteau and leather was a gift from Magda Butrym
@@AllisonBornstein thanks very much!

I would have thought that a stylist would take more risks with respect to color, textures and shapes...
Why? If you look at the street style photos of editors during fashion week, most of them wear clean styles, neutral colors the majority of the time.
Boring as hell
