Wonderful recap. I've been following this series since Jay stated talking about this project on Instagram, probably around the end of 2019. So I've been waiting for this book since book 1 was released 2 and a half years ago.
Thank you! We needed it! This book is sooo good but there's so many plot-lines we get scattered which fits because it's a story within a story being re-told, but those plot-lines are left unfinished, we get slithers of it but since there's a sequel these plot-lines are supposed to be left unconcluded, we know what is going to happen from the present-timeline we just don't know how A gets to C after B. Having a recap is helpful! I actually was so late reading Empire of the Vampire, like 4/5 months ago! So I fortunately didn't need to wait years.
@@daniellesubject8511 the way my brain said this same thing as I was editing the video 😂 I had just got this copy that day and apparently refused to put it down lol
Thanks for the recap ! I've been waiting for " Empire of the damned " for 3 years ! I just finished reading " fire and blood" so now I can read " Empire of the damned "
Thank you for the recap, very useful. I read EoTV last July. I still remember most of it, but there were many things I forgot. I started reading EoTD yesterday, but after this recap I feel like going back to EoTV first 😅 if only I had the time 😢
Just FYI Saoirse is an Irish name and is pronounced Seer sha. There is a very famous actress named Saoirse Ronan for reference. Thanks for the recap, just about to start Empire of the Damned.
I love that copy! I've seen so many cool copies of this book. I don't know why there are so many but they're all so cool! Mine is the Barnes and Noble version, which looks cooler than most books, but all these other copies make mine look basic! hah. Where did you get yours?
Haha, I get what you’re saying, because I really did not like the Indigo’s (Canada’s version of B&N) version. But someone in my area ended up posting this edition for sale and I got it from them. It is the waterstones edition though, so by my understanding, it’s from the UK
I want to be exited to read this as i enjoyed the first one. But i tried the nevernight series while waiting for the sequel and hated it, so now i have mixed feelings on jay as an author 😂
Waited about two years. Loved the book, but I remember feeling like that blood witch is his sister made zero sense whatsoever to me (not just that it takes a LONG TIME to become a high blood top begin with). This really threw me off the story somewhat...
I agree, the blood witch thing always seemed like an after thought thrown in so I assumed it was something he wanted in book two so went back to lay the foundation after the rest of the story was written. But then the sister reveal threw me because, why? Why did it have to be the sister? And she’s super insanely powerful but only been a vampire for 20 years? Also she would’ve been like 15 when she turned or young to some degree so not at all what I was picturing in my head before
Wonderful recap.

You have far more patience than me, haha. I hope the 2nd one was worth the wait!!

I like the story within a story, but definitely adds a level of difficulty for memory recall. 4/5 months is way better than 3 years, haha!
Excellent recap, but I think the most impressive part was you holding that massive book up the entire time
