This book was much more focused than the first one. It is incredible. That “attack” on Selen by Gabriel was totally planned. It’s about the to pop off in the next book!
I liked your summary. You covered pretty much everything. Wanted to make sure I didn’t miss anything important from the audiobook, so your summary was great. Thank you.
just finished last night. i thought the book was absolutely amazing. and i can't get over how underrated these are. literally think they are 100x better than joe ambercrombie's the first law
Thanks for doing a Spoiler review. I was so pissed that Dior was dead. I felt like I was getting some hint at the end with Gabriel and Joaquin that she was not dead and then Selene made mention of saying she didn’t see Dior get buried. Like it was her clever way of saying Dior wasn’t buried without actually saying it. But I felt like I was missing something because I listened to the audiobook. I didn’t realize it was Dior’s eyes that opened. It’s also pretty obvious that Gabriel and Selene planned their “brawl” in the prison. And now she’s been relieved of her muzzle lol For the longest time I thought Selene had shape shifted into a moth. I didn’t realize the moth was essentially her familiar until her human form was with Gabriel and the moth was still with Dior lol
I love that book so much. I can't wait for part 3. Also,I'd love a spin-off series,or sequel/ prequel. The author need to write "the Bible " of that world. I like the alternate take on Christianity.
Do you think the "white moth" in the present day is controlled by Dior or Selene ? Unless it is just a moth...
It’s got to be significant somehow. I don’t know what theory to have tho, I could make a case for either one
I highlighted that too and was like what's with the white moth that's been hanging around since the beginning of book one 😭🤨

I hope this helped! I listened to the audiobook so my pronunciations are based off the narrator

I’m so glad you liked it! Yeah I agree, I think they deserve way more hype
By the way, the author already wrote half of the next book. I think we will get the 3rd book in late 2025 or early 2026.
God I hope so!!
