"The Alchemy Project" is a unique collaboration featuring 13 bands and musicians who co-wrote and performed the seven new tracks with the Dutch symphonic metal titans. Simone said: "Charlotte and I go back many years, but we never really worked on music together. Since she started releasing her solo songs, I became an admirer of her work and reached out to her to create a song for 'The Alchemy Project'. That collaboration resulted in the beautiful haunting song, 'Sirens - Of Blood And Water'. We both have a fascination for mermaids, the fairytale from H.C. Andersen and wanted to write a song from the perspective of the sisters of the little mermaid. I loved how our creative minds flowed into the song and having Myrkur, who happens to be Danish just like the author of the tale, add her unique voice to the song was the perfect match that we needed to complete the story.". 😱only after you didn't recognise Charlotte, I realised you haven't seen anything from Charlotte (original singer of Delain) or any of her solo work (2 albums in two years , 1 song per month: someone was busy during the pandemic).
Two fun facts: 1.The Sirens (2014-2015): This trio was composed by Anneke van Giersbergen, Liv Kristine (Theatre of Tragedy, Leaves’ Eyes) & Kari Rueslåtten (The 3rd and the Mortal). 2.Simone Simons named Charlotte Wessels and Anneke van Giersbergen as her best friends, ad if Simone would form a Dutch girl band, it would be the three of them.
I still hear "happy biiiirthday" in every intro of videos you do,am i weird? Jokes aside,Charlotte Wessels is one of my favourite vocalists. She used to be a founding member of Delain,but she left after several years with the band. Of course shes a fellow Dutch lady with Floor Jansen,Simone in Epica and then some. I believe this is indeed an all Dutch act,theese 3? Waaait,what am i even saying. Myrkur is Danish lol,and so is theyr lead vocalist Amalie Bruun. Well,2 Dutch ladies and a Danish Viking then. 😁 Anyway,i think you have done Delain reactions before on this channel? Or am i tripping? 🤔Anyway Delain is an amazing band and well worth a deepdive! They now have 3 vocalists,one being the female lead in Diana Leah replacing Charlotte,and shes amazing too. 2:20 Thats Charlotte btw,the blonde is Amalie from Myrkur.
