Dad you can hook the orange light wire to any dash light. Tap into your gauge cluster. the round plug on the right it would be one of the lower ones. I don't remember for the left side, but you can trace em to your lights to figure it out. They don't dim with the dimming mode just go about half bright when you turn your lights on. Kind of like a lot after market stereos.
As a machinist we have different drill bits by number and size A-Z & 1-80 each ones a different specific size. Love the install. Real clean . I bought a set with the glowshift column gauge last week for my first gen.
Tip: use anything that can be magnetized that fits the pyro hole. Stick in the hole then put your magnetic on the piece of metal. It will magnetized the piece and pick up the shaving. You don't need a special size magnet.
I like how you guys do powerstroke videos and cummins videos! That's the main reason I'm subscribed because you guys don't talk down on the other trucks & engines.
One thing I see and tell others when drilling and taping for get with turbo on is grease drill bits and taps it catches metal shavings, clean and reapply grease. Just a tip great video
Have you thought about a fuel pin I'm not positive on first GEN but I know second Gen trucks love the 3200 governor spring kit don't know if that's available for first GEN trucks
Using a shop vacuum while drilling helps. Kind of like the dentist uses while squirting water to rinse your mouth. Unless it is a huge piece, it will simply get blown out the exhaust.
Only thing I can say about manifold tap process is that if that probe ever decides to break off, you just scattered your turbo. Ive always put mine on the exhaust side of turbo then simply add 300 degrees to what ever its reading. Example 900 on gauage is 1200 in reality. Better be backing off that skinny pedal real soon at that point. Thanks for the video
If I recall correctly, I used the the 3 amp fuse at I think #14 or 15 and then the one going to Radio, since it it tied to the ignition switch...I'll have Malachi add link to the piggy back circuit fuse tap to description...Be blessed!
Did you paint the pillar housing? I’m wanting to paint match the one I just bought before I install it and trying to track down a interior paint that closely matches the gray interior.
After driving lots of these trucks both gas and diesel i dont think i would put another set of a pillar gauges in i ha e the autometer 2 gauges version of this and it just makes a nasty blind spot for me. I personally will be doing the dashboard style on my latest 87 with big block truck
Just a heads up for you next EGT probe grease on the drill bit, someone holding the vacuum while your drilling and start the truck before the drill bit gets all the way threw. Then you won't get any metal shaving in the exhaust manifold and turbo. That was a ballsy way of doing it
LOUD 'N' PROUD cool I was giving you some tips for the next time you do it. metal shavings and a thin wheel that spins upwards of 10k RPMs don't go together. So it's better to take as many precautions as possible to save the turbo
Sem Verpaalen fuel hostage 20X12's right now is the thought... and I don't think you can do tow mirrors on these old trucks with a lot of fabrication... the old school mirrors mount different haha
There is a link in the description above to purchase a set of these gauges for your 12 valve diesel! Thanks again for watching! Appreciate you all!

Holding a magnet right beside the drill bit also works just as well
Have you thought about a fuel pin

Which fuses did you use for the constant 12v power source?
what spots did you put the red and yellow wires in the fuse box
