Back when the nba was fun to watch. They played defense. They ran pick and rolls. They played with fundamentals

Plus, now, you can carry the ball for three steps, Palm the ball, take three full steps on a drive, stop on each step aka euro-step, and after they stop after the three steps still allowed another full step as part of their drive- they are better physically but you can say that’s a cultural generational aspect of life nowadays plus better diets, exercising, etc. and 80 have little basketball IQ, sense and creativity. It’s no longer basketball, it’s a video game rules basketball. Plus no three second, no double dribble, allow to change/move pivot foot, and no contact allowed.

@@dandandkl9048Players today are absolutely NOT better basketball players. They have zero restrictions on offense due to defense no longer being allowed. What they do have is unrestricted PED use and monumentally bloated paychecks. So I totally agree with your assessment. 👍

Detlef, baby bird.. poor mans bird.. but a cheap copy of Larry Bird is STILL pretty damn good. I remember his days with the pacers and sonics most. He was a tough player that didnt mind getting in the faces of Charles Oakley and Anthony Mason.. I respected his game a lot.

Detlef is a hell of a player. It's just he was unlucky to have been born in roughly the same era as the greatest player of his archetype. If he came around today, he'd give Dirk a run for his money.

One question that no one has ever asked Bill Walton: How would your '76 team have fared against the Boston '86 team? I think I know his answer - it's pretty obvious that one of those teams is vastly more talented - but I'd like see him squirm a bit as he gave the inevitable answer.

Bird vs Jordan all time, 23-11. Jordan couldn't win a Championship until after Bird retired. At Bird's retirement MJ said, "Good riddance Larry, I can't say I'm sorry to see you go. You've ruined most of my best games."
