When joker card was shown with the zooming in his face it gave me chills. I thought this whole thing was another fake reality or something and they still have to beat the final game. Reading some stuff from manga readers about the ending was reassuring.
I think I might have just witnessed one of the best TV episodes ever! Also one of the best representations of mental illness ever, from the soul crushing scene at the clynic where Arisu questions his own worth and has almost given up, to the words Usagi spoke to him, the words they speak to eachother as they regain strength to carry on, and then getting that second chance and new look at life at the end... It's probably not for everyone, and some people will never understand and they will always disregard what true depression is, but as someone who has battled with it... My God it was beautiful! I can only thank the creators for being brave to do this. Tears were flowing I tell you. And to top it off, all the false revelations, and the final joker card that either leaves the ending open or sets it up for some more.... That was the icing on the cake. Masterpiece!
It’s so heartbreaking to see this show end after having waited for so long for the second seasons release, but the actors and producers did such a fantastic job ending the series, it’s absolutely perfect and will always be my favorite show. Love all the actors too, especially all the women of Alice in borderland like, Aya Asahina, Ayaka, Tao and Yuri
What i find so interesting is that the scene where you see many patients, when you realize that everyone there has went through the games. For those who don’t understand, every second irl is a few months in the borderland, which is how the king of clubs got there a while ago. That shot hits hard because you start to wonder what they went through in the past, or maybe future games.
just watched s2 & already missing this show this show made me feel a little comforted bcoz of mental health issues they highlighted fighting to live everyday. thinking one can do everything on their own but actually helps if even 1 person is truly there for you last scene of queen & arisu is kind of like a person who is already struggling and toxic people in their life trying to push you over the edge knowingly or unknowingly
Did you guys realize that when arisu touched usagis hand while giving her the change he said if they had met before like he suddenly remembered something. Remember when they touched hands during the bath and decided to leave? And when arisu turned around to leave, usage realized she kinda remember him for something. Remember when usagi told arisu “it’s ok” when he accidentally looked at her in the bath?There are starting to have connections from the borderlands. There is a good chance for season three. Because many other characters will start to recognize each other.
I personally dont think this is a hint for season 3 The feeling of knowing each other but actually not knowing is a very asian philosophy that the spiritual/fantasy worlds are always intertwined and affects the real world That's why they feel like that cause they were in borderland (in the series means the life and death experience together for a short moment)
I think the joker card being behind all the cards is a simple and creative way to say that the joker was "behind" all the games. The joker was also behind everything in the manga.
The ending with the cards on the table makes sense too, a lot of people in "the game" were talking about how normal life wasn't great either. The games in theory will continue in the real world, the meteor hitting was an immediate example of that. Solid show, and glad a highly rated show finally had the balls to pull the "it was all a dream" off at the end without it being insanely corny.
it wasn’t a dream, they were sent to the borderlands when they became unconscious and had to complete the games to stay alive, time is also dilated there, and many people say a second in real life was about a day in the borderlands. also, both tatta and urumi were named as victims at the end of the episode, and we saw them both die earlier on in season 2 and never see them come back to the real world, which could somewhat prove it wasn’t a dream
The show is basically like having a wet dream lol. Or like when someone in the conscious world is knocking on your door, but in your dream, it's explosions. Yep - makes sense.
I know I will be coming back to this episode for many years to come. I've been dealing with grief over the deaths of family members for decades and how the Queen of Hearts explains the meaninglessness of what happens after the games are over (life after death) and how Arisu and Usagi reunite is just cathartic on so many levels for me. I watched it once, got chills; then I watched it 5 more times and burst into tears each time. It's really that potent. I didn't expect it after season 1 and hearing mixed reviews about season 2. I'm finally ready for the Joker game -the real world.
This will probably be the last season because the Joker cards entire plot was to portray as someone who brought the dead to the game for a second chance. He was the intermediator for the borderlands. In the manga, Arisu asked him if he was the game master but Joker never responded relating to that question and only asked if Arisu thought he was a god or a devil.
I have some teary eyes when I watch this scene. On one side, I was sad that their stories already end.. But fortunately, their love still there and sparks each other. On the other side, I was a bit grumpy because why they forgot to each other after all the promises they make during the Usagi's near death scene. All the promises are really touching, even a cold blooded person like Mira the Queen of Hearts willing to let them win the game. The show must go on, will be interesting to see them share stories during meals and say "Good Morning" to each other as they have conveyed. But obviously, a recommended series!
I hope there is a season 3. I'm loving the 2nd season. I watched 2 episodes lastnight. I don't care if I know the "spoilers" I'll still watch the show!

They didn't explain it in the series..there must be a reason to it..many people who watch the show(including me) didnt read the manga too so that joker card is something for us because it only show once
omg I thought the show will continue.... Now I'm left with thousand questions: What about the guys in the Netflix show who finished the game and decided to stay in this world. Are they dead now in the real world? When dying in the game means you are dead for good. What does it mean to stay in this world and continue playing the games and don't wake up in the real world? Where are you then? Not dead but not alive either? And why the queen at the end even knows the answer to everything. Even what happens when you decide to leave the world? But she shouldn't know it because she never wanted to leave this world and therefore shouldn't know what happend to her real body right? I don't get it...
I don’t know. Something about this ending don’t sit right with me, it just feels so weird that they forgot their memories and everything that happened. It was a bitter sweet ending for me imo.

While I do enjoy this show very much, the ending was perfect and having a third season might ruin it. A lot of shows had good first two seasons and then have the third suck.
For those saying it was a “dream and they lost their memory from the dream” type of shit, I hope this clarifies everything. It was not a dream, borderland is the intermediate between life and death, so basically, they literally had to fight to either come back to the real world or die there and pass on to the afterlife. Those who survived the borderland came back and those who didn’t passed on. They didn’t know each other in the real world, so it’s hard to know each other when they come back to the real world, most people who have gone to the borderland forget what happens in the borderland, I think that’s what happened to them, however, a part of them feel some sort of connection, they can’t explain it but it was there. That’s why they had a feeling that they had met each other before. It wasn’t a dream, because the things that affected them in the borderland affected them in the real world. For instance, the girl whose leg was cut in the borderland came back with a cut leg in the real world, the same thing with Usagi, who had an issue with her legs, she’s using crutches. And so on and so forth. So it wasn’t a dream, it wasn’t a reality either, take it as a sort of pseudo-reality, time is different in the borderland, that’s why it seemed like a minute here and a month there. The games may not have been real but the deaths were. And now Joker has come to the real world to ensure they complete their FINAL game. He doesn’t have to do it in the borderland. He can do it here. Hope this clarifies the misunderstanding that it was a “dream”
Wonderful show but I kinda hope it’s the last season as this is in my personal opinion in my top 5 best Netflix series and since it’s ending and the show it’s self are pretty much perfect it doesn’t need nor require a season 3 but if there is one I would not be against it as well.
I wouldn’t mind if there was a season 3 and it was just a regular show showing all the survivors living normal lives and then gradually becoming friends/lovers with each other.

If you die in that world, your heart will not beat again. All surviving players in the Borderlands managed to beat their hearts again because they cleared all the games alive. Plus meeting everyone in that world who got hit in Tokyo is too narrow to call it all a dream. Mira and the other face card masters are survivors of another phase in borderland. Kyuma call themselves citizens because they all stayed behind after they beat all the games. Mira must have defeated the previous Queen of Hearts and Kyuma defeated the King of Clubs together with his bandmates. The girl from his band said, they were able to survive all those games and for so long because of him. It just means they were previous players in the last phase and survives. They all agreed to stay and get permanent residency. They became game masters after that. They enjoy playing the games. If Aguni chooses to stay, he could have been the next King of Spades in the next phase. All I say is the previous players was from Japan in a different dimension but still the same. The meteorite event happened in all those dimensions causing them to be transported in the borderland. Mira knows about the two options because she was previous player who completed her own phase and became a face card holder in the next phase. It is an endless cycle of borderlands. I believe we will get a season 3 if they revealed that the masterminds were the joker cards. They must be defeated for the Borderland and endless meteorite events from other dimensions will be stop
Squid Game shits all over this. Squid game actually makes sense. Alice in Borderland has the main character trying to be friends with mass murderers and the guy who tried to rape his girlfriend twice. And then it provides a hollow, empty, meaningless ending. Never been so mad at a show.
Alice in Borderlands S1 < Squid Game < Alice in Borderlands S2. For me, personally. Let’s see how Squid Game S2 will be. At first I wasn’t so keen on AiB S2 but everything in this season was exellent. Plot, cinematography (especially this), CGI, excitement, character development. I knew there was a manga but I refused to read it for the sake of spoilers/dramatic effect when I could watch this season. I so wanted to believe it was some sort of isekai where Arisu would go back and be reunited with Chota and Karube...
Everything was good, until they shows that child parents alive. That's poses many questions. Does that mean dying in the game doesn't matter? And one who survived till last have to face similar consequences as the one who died midway. we have to note that they all are fighting for there life, so according to that logic. If they successfully survive in that world then only they can return in this world. Arisu's friends couldn't survive that, therefore they didn't return. And that should apply to anyone... This further shows an important human tendency to survive. In medical terms, it is often said that patient must have the willingness to survive if they want to overcome something. If they give up, then even the best doctors can't cure them. In that world therefore, only those who have the tendency to fight and survive must return and others shouldn't who died meanwhile. That's what a proper explanation of the series is... Love the fictional portrayal of the journey and experiences of death.
If anyone is curious: *SPOILERS!* Arisu goes to college and becomes a clinical psychologist and counsellor. Usagi becomes a professional sports trainer and climber. The two of them have a kid.

I gotta be honest I think I’m the only one not happy with the ending, if it’s the real ending. Like it was wholesome and stuff but I actually did want it to be some kind of simulation thing. Im also curious if there will be a 3rd season where they reveal that it’s still not over. Maybe the joker is the real, final two games. The whole point being the joker controls the whole thing. the “last game” was the joke, it’s not over and the real truth about it will be revealed. They also didn’t show anything about the people who chose to stay, or the game masters of the face cards. So I think and hope there will be more about all that. Obviously that could be because it was all in his head. But leaving it kind of in the air like that gives opportunity for more. This show is badass and I think continuing it with the joker cards would be so cool.

The joker created the borderland after so many people were dying at once from the meteor, to give some of them a chance at coming back to life. The joker is a Japanese buddhist mythological figure who guides people into the afterlife when they die. I don't know about the vegetation and the elephants part though.

I watched it once, got chills; then I watched it 5 more times and burst into tears each time. It's really that potent. I didn't expect it after season 1 and hearing mixed reviews about season 2. I'm finally ready for the Joker game -the real world.
This will probably be the last season because the Joker cards entire plot was to portray as someone who brought the dead to the game for a second chance. He was the intermediator for the borderlands. In the manga, Arisu asked him if he was the game master but Joker never responded relating to that question and only asked if Arisu thought he was a god or a devil.

I have some teary eyes when I watch this scene. On one side, I was sad that their stories already end.. But fortunately, their love still there and sparks each other.
On the other side, I was a bit grumpy because why they forgot to each other after all the promises they make during the Usagi's near death scene. All the promises are really touching, even a cold blooded person like Mira the Queen of Hearts willing to let them win the game. The show must go on, will be interesting to see them share stories during meals and say "Good Morning" to each other as they have conveyed.
But obviously, a recommended series!

@@mygoditsalot I assume they are dead. It was implied that anyone who died in the borderlands died in real life as well. The exception being Ann which I'm guessing she got to live because Kuina was holding her hand when they cleared the game.

Because of the meteor. Too many died unexpectedly. So death decide to give them.another chance by competing in the borderland which is purgatory it self. Those who finish the game gets the chance to get back in life,

There is another manga where arisu again, gets back in borderland because of an car accident but he manage to win the games again and gets back to her wife giving birth to their child

When dying in the game means you are dead for good. What does it mean to stay in this world and continue playing the games and don't wake up in the real world? Where are you then? Not dead but not alive either?
And why the queen at the end even knows the answer to everything. Even what happens when you decide to leave the world? But she shouldn't know it because she never wanted to leave this world and therefore shouldn't know what happend to her real body right?

For those saying it was a “dream and they lost their memory from the dream” type of shit, I hope this clarifies everything.
It was not a dream, borderland is the intermediate between life and death, so basically, they literally had to fight to either come back to the real world or die there and pass on to the afterlife. Those who survived the borderland came back and those who didn’t passed on. They didn’t know each other in the real world, so it’s hard to know each other when they come back to the real world, most people who have gone to the borderland forget what happens in the borderland, I think that’s what happened to them, however, a part of them feel some sort of connection, they can’t explain it but it was there. That’s why they had a feeling that they had met each other before. It wasn’t a dream, because the things that affected them in the borderland affected them in the real world. For instance, the girl whose leg was cut in the borderland came back with a cut leg in the real world, the same thing with Usagi, who had an issue with her legs, she’s using crutches. And so on and so forth. So it wasn’t a dream, it wasn’t a reality either, take it as a sort of pseudo-reality, time is different in the borderland, that’s why it seemed like a minute here and a month there. The games may not have been real but the deaths were. And now Joker has come to the real world to ensure they complete their FINAL game. He doesn’t have to do it in the borderland. He can do it here. Hope this clarifies the misunderstanding that it was a “dream”

Wonderful show but I kinda hope it’s the last season as this is in my personal opinion in my top 5 best Netflix series and since it’s ending and the show it’s self are pretty much perfect it doesn’t need nor require a season 3 but if there is one I would not be against it as well.

If you die in that world, your heart will not beat again. All surviving players in the Borderlands managed to beat their hearts again because they cleared all the games alive.
Plus meeting everyone in that world who got hit in Tokyo is too narrow to call it all a dream.
Mira and the other face card masters are survivors of another phase in borderland. Kyuma call themselves citizens because they all stayed behind after they beat all the games. Mira must have defeated the previous Queen of Hearts and Kyuma defeated the King of Clubs together with his bandmates. The girl from his band said, they were able to survive all those games and for so long because of him. It just means they were previous players in the last phase and survives. They all agreed to stay and get permanent residency. They became game masters after that. They enjoy playing the games. If Aguni chooses to stay, he could have been the next King of Spades in the next phase.
All I say is the previous players was from Japan in a different dimension but still the same. The meteorite event happened in all those dimensions causing them to be transported in the borderland.
Mira knows about the two options because she was previous player who completed her own phase and became a face card holder in the next phase. It is an endless cycle of borderlands.
I believe we will get a season 3 if they revealed that the masterminds were the joker cards. They must be defeated for the Borderland and endless meteorite events from other dimensions will be stop

Squid Game shits all over this. Squid game actually makes sense. Alice in Borderland has the main character trying to be friends with mass murderers and the guy who tried to rape his girlfriend twice. And then it provides a hollow, empty, meaningless ending. Never been so mad at a show.
Alice in Borderlands S1 < Squid Game < Alice in Borderlands S2. For me, personally. Let’s see how Squid Game S2 will be. At first I wasn’t so keen on AiB S2 but everything in this season was exellent. Plot, cinematography (especially this), CGI, excitement, character development. Gotta give props to the showrunners, actors and everyone involved ♥️

Everything was good, until they shows that child parents alive. That's poses many questions.
Does that mean dying in the game doesn't matter? And one who survived till last have to face similar consequences as the one who died midway.
we have to note that they all are fighting for there life, so according to that logic. If they successfully survive in that world then only they can return in this world. Arisu's friends couldn't survive that, therefore they didn't return. And that should apply to anyone...
This further shows an important human tendency to survive. In medical terms, it is often said that patient must have the willingness to survive if they want to overcome something. If they give up, then even the best doctors can't cure them. In that world therefore, only those who have the tendency to fight and survive must return and others shouldn't who died meanwhile. That's what a proper explanation of the series is...

I gotta be honest I think I’m the only one not happy with the ending, if it’s the real ending. Like it was wholesome and stuff but I actually did want it to be some kind of simulation thing. Im also curious if there will be a 3rd season where they reveal that it’s still not over. Maybe the joker is the real, final two games. The whole point being the joker controls the whole thing. the “last game” was the joke, it’s not over and the real truth about it will be revealed. They also didn’t show anything about the people who chose to stay, or the game masters of the face cards. So I think and hope there will be more about all that. Obviously that could be because it was all in his head. But leaving it kind of in the air like that gives opportunity for more. This show is badass and I think continuing it with the joker cards would be so cool.

Ok I got it the ones who survived in the borderland and rejected living there came back to their world but what was the borderland? How did they reached there? Who planned all these games? Why it was covered with green vegetation in last episodes? Why that country was covered with mountains and all those elephants? Like I am so confused
The joker created the borderland after so many people were dying at once from the meteor, to give some of them a chance at coming back to life. The joker is a Japanese buddhist mythological figure who guides people into the afterlife when they die. I don't know about the vegetation and the elephants part though.
@@adamx182i think the elephants were put there by the joker to give them hope, i think the joker wanted most of them to live, as for the vegetation, I think it was implying that no one was taking care of the city, hence, everyone was in a coma
