      What we evolved on and because of what we evolved, which are meat(in it's purest definition) and fruit.

I feel is very misleading to say you can eat with no restrictions or that you can practice "food freedom" without explaining that moderation is part of it. Yeah she has a plate that looks high in calories at the end but doesn't talk about ingredients and portions (it looked like a very regular and filling amount)...same with muffins (1 muffin per portion)...and the tofu brownies (tofu=less cholesterol) and the birthday ice cream cake (just a slice) and she lives a very active life and works on her feet. You can have it all in moderation to take care of your body and indulge at the same time but half a pizza and a 32oz soda is not indulging as a snack...it's lack of self control which probably reflects in many other aspects of the person's life.

    My only problem with diet culture is that it has made people forget what eating healthy for the sake of health looks like. Everyone is always on one diet or another and when they are not on the diet they proceed to eat trash everyday and jump on a another diet. Our bodies aren't supposed to be eating like that.

    • @ollynolly4592
      @ollynolly4592 Год назад +2

      @8th account the problem is not that they don't try to diet, it's that they follow fad diets that don't work and are unsustainable so they give up quickly and whatever progress they made is immediately lost. It just reinforced bad eating habits. Weight loss is freaking hard and telling people to achieve it by extreme deprivation will not work

    • @ollynolly4592
      @ollynolly4592 Год назад

      @8th account I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm saying it's not going to work for everyone and it didn't work for me. For years I tried to lose weight by going on extreme diets, which is what the majority of people do, and its not just cutting out junk food. It's cutting out healthy carbs and fats and eating 1200 calories or less. I developed bulimia and a binge eating disorder from my extreme diets and it's taken a long time to change my thinking surrounding food and the importance I place on it in my life and that's what most people need. Yes, people are addicted to food but you also need food to live which makes it very different from combating any other addiction. I think more people need to be re-educate in nutrition and I lived in Sweden where the eating and exercise habits of people there are so different from the US it's no wonder Americans are fat.

    • @ollynolly4592
      @ollynolly4592 Год назад +2

      @8th account that's my point. People are going from one extreme eating habit, fad diets and very low calorie diets, to another like binging on any and everything, and not many are talking about a balance. People see eating healthy as a means to an end, meaning they they intend to lose the weight so they can eat whatever they want which is all the trash food. Eating healthy is for perpetual health and that's what we need to relearn

A lot of these foods shown would not be good for people who are predisposed to diabetes and wouldn't be good for everyone on a daily basis. It's perfectly fine to have days where you say "fuck it" and eat sugar and carbs for everything but you also have to have days where you do eat a balanced diet and give your body more of what it needs and less of what it doesn't. I would think someone who understands nutrition would understand that and acknowledge it rather than encouraging people to eat whatever and treat their bodies like shit if they feel like it.

The main point of being a nutritionist is being able to balance your life while meeting your nutritional needs, so this might not be the best example as some people are taking this video as a greenflag to enjoy a bunch of sweets (which you should if you want, but moderation!!!). I'm seeing a lot of surplus with oils and sugar which is fine every now and then but these things need to be within a specific limit in order to live a happy and nutritional life!! So everyone please remember, meet your daily nutritional needs :)
