Why am I hyped for a 9 year old game
Edit: Since this has gotten top comment, maybe I can use it as a platform. If any DICE or EA representative is reading this, please know that the Battlefield community wants a remaster of this game. Or, since I know you aren’t fond of those, at least a direct sequel to the Battlefield 4 story (a little closer to the present day) that has elements of 3 and 4 with the same gorgeous map and sound design as this game had…
There’s a reason why your fans keep coming back to these old trailers to reminisce about them and that’s because they were masterpieces of games. We enjoyed the experiences we had playing them. Please try to shift your focus back towards this style again because it will really help to build back up the community. You did something different with 2042, and different is always a good thing, but in this case it did not work. It was lacking in many areas when compared with this game. I think your fans are unanimous in that the franchise has been taking a turn for the worse after Battlefield 1. This will be a big help with reviving it!
The *Battlefield Reddit* makes a very good summary of everything we dislike and think needs improvement with the current state of 2042. Please use this when developing the next game, and ask the community for their insight! It would be a great thing if we could do something awesome like the “community operations” event in Battlefield 4 for the development of the next game, and good communication with the community (your consumers) is what will drive sales. This is what we want!!

@@MapleApache Yep, alas they are soon closing server support on consoles. On pc the game is still very popular though and theyre not closing support for it in the foreseeable future.

Well, at launch BF3 is a broken mess, but it had a heart, which is why people stand by it and hope it will get fixed. Unlike a broken corpse that is BF 2042 where it not only had no heart, it had no soul. A blatant cash grab trying to capitalize on BR market even though they know it won't work on BF series.

If critics said that the campaign was terrible then they are dumbasses.
The Turtle Better then most? This campaign was phenomenal. It truly did show what war is like in today’s generation. A wealthy country going up against a somewhat poor and under developed. From the F/A-18 missions, to on top of a rooftop with a squad of Marines getting pinned down by sniper fire and taking turns carefully moving across, this campaign had it all and it has to be on of the best I’ve and will eve play.
There were more good games around then so it didn't seem that great, it's a masterpiece by todays standards however.

The fact that this came out almost 12 years ago is insane and shows not only how the graphics were ahead of their time, but how video game graphics have kind of stagnated(or progressed at a snail'space) since the end of the 7th generation of consoles.
Imagine the caliber of games we could be playing now if successful studios like Dice had been allowed to evolve instead of being destroyed by EA

Battlefield 3 just really nailed the setting and vibe of the game. Still my all time favorite.

This does actually look like soldiers fighting and not fortnite characters jumping around like mad men like in the 2042 trailer. (just my opinion tho)

I remember my brother bought me in 2019 this game for my 14 birthday and we played this everyday and we enjoyed it everyday until completing it i miss the good old days and i feel sorry for those who never got to experience the nostalgia while playing this game

This was the most thrilling trailer I watched when I was young. It'd be even better if the full sentence "... who protect our nation and people" can be added to it around 0:23, mixed with the EA background & music. That will bring the video clip to a whole new level. It's a pity that the clip didn't go that way.

This game was wayyyyy ahead of its time.
I'll finally be able to play this masterpiece again since they brought it to steam, I loved it on the 360 but for some reason my Origin account either got locked or hacked and I was never able to access it after some time. The nostalgia is overwhelming me.
This ended up in my recommendations, and I’m not disappointed.

A milestone in gaming, still looks great today. Map design and gameplay is on point, only the netcode and the servers hold it down.
