Having seen fishing instructional videos like this before, imagine my shock when he took the rod apart to demonstrate the forward cast and a fish didn’t pick that moment to take his fly 😂

I’m feel like the boy in the back of the classroom praying the teacher doesn’t choose him but unlike that little boy I’m actually learning something, something that I want to understand better. You have a wonderful manor of teaching. Easy to follow plus it’s obvious you want everyone to succeed. I can’t wait to watch Vol. 2.
Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together.

Good easy to understand description of skagit and skandi lines and tips….Love the baseball ping pong ball comparison.

I have question … If we can skate flies for steelhead in our 13ft 7wt, could we skandi skate small chubbies on trout spey? 😊

I fly fish for everything, small creek browns, brooks and rainbows, great lakes salmon and steelhead, bass, pike, and even walleye. Recently i was gifted a 16 foot, bamboo spey rod, and i was considering using it fo chinook and cohos. My main concern is that i generally use a 10 wt minimum as 25+ lb chinook are not uncommon. Should i put some 7-8 weogh line on the rod or kust make it a centerpin for using roe?

We believe a 16ft bamboo rod is more like an 11wt, or maybe a 10wt. If so, a 7/8 line would be too light.
