I made the mistake of bringing this flick to my mom's place to watch during a visit. Keep in mind that she's an elderly Chinese woman that speaks very little English. When the limo gets flipped onto the beach, she asked if the chauffer was OK and I just shrugged my shoulders and said I don't know. So she asked me to find out if he survived. That was 11 years ago, and she still bugs me about it.
Modern day Hollywood is utter garbage and barely a fraction of what they used to be. Nothing but remakes and live action adaptations. Nothing original anymore, just totally creatively bankrupt.
The only blemish was Albert Brooks. There was a reason why they chose his voice for Marlin in Finding Nemo. It was the same reason why he was cast for "The In Laws". It's his voice and non-threatening demeanor. He made a very poor villain. It was the same reason Tom Hanks made a poor cold blooded killer in Road to Perdition.
Well, Nino's death was quite anti-climatic, so that would be a good reason to find the movie boring or underwhelming. Nino is such a prick and his death was building up gradually but the execution fell flat tbh. Love the movie though!
