    Who tatooed this 17 year old?? This is the oldest teenager on Earth. This guy’s been divorced twice, had his car repossesed, got heavy into cocaine, but cleaned up his act. He grew up a Christian but lost his faith when his brother drowned himself after his girlfriend cheated on him, then he found purpose again in his wife’s little boy, who came from her first marriage.
    Seriously, he cannot be a teenager. Look at those dead eyes. The light of youth is gone. Ahead lies only mortgage payments and weeknight binge drinking. He reacted less to breaking half a dozen world records than I do to James Corden carpool karaoke and I’m 10 years older than this car repo guy. My man has see some shit 😂🤣😂

High bar squat testing the leg strength , bench testing the chest strength (without giant Japanese grip and body contortionist arch) and conventional deadlift testing back strength.

    6:19 excellent shout on the armwrestling ROM. Armwrestling, bicep especially, is inside armwrestling which is really only from that position and backward. If you get pulled out of that, you transition to outside, which doesn't use the bicep as much and relies more on lat and dragging pressure.
    So Levan (world #1) would actually be doing a disservice to himself and his training if he tried to push that much weight to a further ROM, when it's already strengthening him where he wants to be. And to answer some of Zack's questions in order: It depends but mostly yes, yes there are strict r/l pullers most are stronger on one than the other.
    The championships for armwrestling go exactly like the olympics: There are about 10 different major leagues, the cold war never ended, you are and aren't allowed to compete outside of your league or with other leagues entirely subjectively, and everyone is sick of it. The best of the West and best of the East are finally going to get to pull this coming June though, because people finally realized the Cold War actually did end!

      That really depends on size, someone who is short and thin is going to have a lesser capacity for strength training.
      That being said, for a reasonably sized individual you should get that far faster. I was 6"~ and 74 kilos when I started seriously training for heavy compound lifts, and I had a similar squat (which is my weakest lift), 130 kilo deadlift for reps, and could OHP my own weight in about 5-6 months with around 2-3 weeks of deload in the middle (because I went in holiday), and while I've previously been in pretty good shape (calisthenics mostly), I hadn't strength trained for a year and basically went through a harsh but achievable powerlifting-gymnastics hybrid based program. I don't have the best frame for heavy lifting, and while I do put muscle on somewhat quickly I am normally quite lean, so for anyone who was more heavyset or predisposed to maximal contraction the totals could easily be way higher. My friend is a larger build then me and can easily build up to a 140 squat in a few months both when he started training and when he had taken a several year break.
      They might not be doing strength training though, if they are focusing on that horrible bodybuilding hybrid many people seem to be into (high reps with 40-60% 1RM) you can easily end up making very slow progress in regards to strength.

      @@AveSicarius whole lotta writing for some cope. I doubt the guy is 45kg bw. Being short isn't an issue with lifting, being thin is fixable by just eating. He's absolutely pissed on his time investment if it's taken him 3 years to squat 105kg and bench 60kg lmao

      @AveSicarius 2 года назад

      Some people do have various physiological disadvantages that prevent them from gaining weight or strength relative to other's of the same age. They could have hormone issues, problem's with metabolism, or joint problems that prevent full ROM and limit strength gains.
      It most probably is an issue with training, and I was trying to give an anecdotal reference on how even someone with relatively overall low strength potential can achieve that quickly with effective training, but it could also be a variety of other issues such that unless you know the details, you cannot say for sure what the issue is.
      They also don't need a coach, they just need to read into proper strength training and fix their technique and schedule if that is the issue, getting a coach speeds that process up, but it is fully achievable just through using information freely available on the internet. It's probably also better to do so from a hobbyist standpoint, because if you learn how to programme progressive overload and effective recovery it benefit's you massively in the long run.

      I could see sumo staying, but the bench shenanigans definitely have to go. Maybe swap bench for OHP or something?
      I think it would be cool to have more movements that don’t get announced until competition is close, like say 6 months away. Imagine if powerlifting was set up to where the deadlift event could be any type of deadlift like a snatch grip deadlift, sumo, conventional etc. Or Squat event could be either a lowbar, highbar or front squat etc. And athletes wouldn’t know for sure which variation it would be until competition is close. Minor changes to lift technique won't change anything. The fact is that as it's currently conducted, powerlifting is a long, boring sport with low stakes. There's no tactical weight changes, forcing people out for an attempt they're not ready for etc. Everyone does their first attempt, then they take weight off the bar and everyone does their second. There's no sense of gradual climax and 'anything can happen'. Run powerlifting like weightlifting and it would be slightly more interesting to watch. But it will still be people lifting weights small distances slowly surrounded by spotters and refs.

      Just gonna chime in and say that I find sumo cooler looking. I do think for most sumo is easier and a bit more technical, so easier for lighter technical lifters to abuse and therefore a big conventional for me is a greater show of pure strength. But that wide position like a wound-up spring, just looking ready to pounce on the weight... I think that's the best aesthetics ngl.

      How big is he, and is he on gear haha? There are definitely kids out there who mature fast, and if they've been lifting weights for a while just get insanely strong compared to other people the same age.
      I mean this is where Olympic and international teams usually recruit from, usually young kids who excel at a high school or collegiate level. Obviously need to compete or train with a team to get scouted though, but these are the kind of kids that get taken. Most of the kids I've known in other sports, especially competitive swimming, were picked out for high level competition as young as 14, and were competing against adults very soon after.
      Some people definitely respond insanely well to PEDs though, and when they go competitive they fall off somewhat.

    Karlos Nasar looking like that while being 17 year old is honestly no surprise to me. He is competing at a high level there so his physique is better than average as expected but the face is pretty normal.
    Being from Bulgaria I can easily accept the whole look, its not all that surprising to me CONSIDERING he a legit competitor. I also have a 17 year old friend with a way thicker beard. They just got them good genes for that. As far as drugs go I have no clue, not an expert there but if he is it just makes it that much more believable.

      Yes, but he was born and raised in Georgia by parents who were also both born and raised in Georgia. Kakhi had never been to Greece until he was compelled to immigrate due to economic reasons. This is just semantics. If Georgia wasn't in complete shambles after the civil war of early 90s, he would have continued competing for Georgia. He said so himself.

    As someone who does technically sumo, i do think most sumo lifters take it too far, there should be rules about height to feet placement proportions to stop crazy rom restriction. My knees are barely wider than my elbow but my hand placement is close together. I can lift more if i stand wider but seeing as i dont compete and think it looks dumb I typically avoid it. I am convinced the rise of sumo has negatively impacted the view of powerlifting worldwide as the my younger brothers generation do not view powerlifting as a serious sport anymore

    • @thorthewolf8801
      @thorthewolf8801 2 года назад +1

      I think sumo and conventional shouldnt both be counted as deadlift. Have a separate record for sumo and conventional, that way there would be no argument between lifters who pull one or the other

    I think the 134kg Curl by Levan was the most impressive, like in a normal gym nobody can even deadlift 134kg. Even holding that in a single arm is crazy but actually moving it 1 inch is insane. Imo he could be the worlds strongest man, worlds strongest powerlifter or even weightlifter if he trained for it. He would be stronger then Lasha, the Mountain etc. etc.
