Being the actual 65 year old grandma....lol... I relate to your love of books. Like me...if you start young.....you will have a select collection in time. My bookcases stashed with classics are backdrop of my "sanctuary" decor. Don't let anyone stifle your treasure hunts!
@@DressMeUpScotty Same, when my parents repainted our living room I wanted a wall of bookshelves so we can have all the books in the house in one spot. Sadly, it didn't happen
The beauty about second hand finds is, you find something you want and then find a better version of it, then re-donate the original. Win win, perfect recycling and the best way to find exactly what you want, without adding to consumerism. Loved everything you found 😍xx
I like to donate paperbacks to those little free libraries that you find in neighborhoods in front of people’s houses or small businesses. One day I’m gonna make one of those to post on the edge of my yard!
Scotty you are so true to your style and very beautiful. I truly can find part of myself in you. I am a true to my hippie style, but I appreciate your how we are alike the short vests and romantic vintage dresses. Anyway I'm finding that even though we're very different, we're both true what makes us at peace. So happy I found you. Dr Linds
I know that this is an older video but what I suggest doing for books you no longer need is to find several of those Little Free Libraries in your area, especially high traffic ones. I have several that I frequent and within a few days everything that I have put in there has been taken.
Yesterday at the charity shop I found a copy of Charles Dickens the old curiosity shop from FREAKING 1866 !! Of course I had to buy it it’s a piece of history
You made out so good! Love the books you purchased. Most libraries accept donations. I have also donated to our local Women's & Children's Center or Salvation Army, all of which help the community.
i believe the floral doily you showed was cross stitch, i wasn't able to get a close up view but cross stitch is basically pixel art made with x's of thread. it can include some embroidery for outlines or details but the majority of it will be those little x's of thread. i've done several cross stitch projects, it's pretty fun. :)
I'm sort of a new subscriber (I'm kinda silent follower cause sometimes I get distracted and forget to comment) but I love love love love your content and style. Also, from this video, the pot that showed up at 7:55 I was literally like "OMG 😱" My gramma on my father side has one just like that, it is exacly the same 🥰 also the dress at 12:11 is just gorgeous, would love to have one 💜❤ love you so much, your videos are so healing for me and don't worry about the messy out of order thing, I'm just like that hahha I might have undiagnosed ADHD just never really looked into it hehe oh and the pink lamp 🌺 I want one so bad, it is sooo fairy 😍
Don't even think of stopping your haul videos!!! 😱 I live overseas, nearest thrift shops are an hour away, so I thrift vicariously through you!! 😝 The silver "teapot" is a coffeepot. The pink dress is gorgeous! And that white sweater... ❤️❤️ And last but not least, that pink lamp is to. die. for!!!! 🌺
Hahaha I just don’t wanna seem like a hoarder, and also some want me channel to be JUST a thrifting channel 😂 Id hate to have one niche. I am making sure lately to only buy things I absolutely love and have a vision for. It’s amazing that I’ve been able to transform my home into the home of my dreams simply from thrifting. When I first moved to this home I didn’t have any decor and it stayed that way for a few years. I only started hanging things on the walls recently.
And I didn’t know til 2022! My friend sent me a news bulletin I think from a health organization during the summer heat wave. I was like “this explains a lot!” - so I’m double sensitive to heat yikes!
I have to add bc I didnt finish the video before I commented. I used to have a lily pad lamp as a kid, my mom bought it for me. I was just thinking about it the other day but I lost it in storage a long time ago. If I find one thrifting I'm snatching it up
They’re so pretty honestly. Check Facebook marketplace maybe, that’s where I found mine and I keep seeing them on there! You never know! I hope you find one!
I work in a thrift shop (called op shops here) and I swear 1/2 my pay goes back to the store with all the treasures I find lol recently got 4 new pictures that are very cottagecore and 2 of them are 36 years old
I'm currently on the beginner sewers(?) sew-ers 🤷♀️ journey. I got a sewing machine for Christmas and have started culling all the clothes I need to patch and a ton of ideas, like making pillows for all my hoard of throw pillow cases 😬 I have 3 kids two are under 5 so I haven't even opened the box yet bc I imagine trying to sit down and sew without an interruption or without my girls trying to "help" I will get around to it eventually...along with my brand new unopened keyboard and its stand 😔
Yeah that can definitely be a challenge undergoing learning a new skill while caring for kiddos! Hopefully you’ll get time soon to do it. I have no excuse 😂 I need to get on learning sewing.
I hope you feel better soon!! ❤️ mine was a little less than 2 weeks (i hadn’t left my house for 14 days because before I got sick I was recovering from a wedding - funny enough that’s NOT where I got it lol). 11 days til I tested negative. My symptoms started to taper off after day 8 if I remember correctly. My symptoms weren’t too bad and my lack of taste lasted like one day tbh. So hopefully yours won’t be too bad either! I think the worst symptom was just being tired and out of it. So make sure you rest, stay hydrated and get plenty of sleep ❤️❤️❤️ sending good vibes! 🙏🏼

I love that! ❤️ I’ve always wanted to have a “study”, a room with a bookshelf wall with one of those rolling ladders. Some day 🙌🏼

It is! It’s so dramatic I can’t wait to use it for photos 😍
You can always put that cute little strawberry plate on a plate holder and stick it on your wall.

A couple people commented about that haha. I’d never seen one so didn’t know 😆
