my boyfriend dumped me earlier and i’ve been crying all day. i’m finally going to sleep and i see the notification for this video. i know i’ll have a good sleep and better day tomorrow :)
The creature in the last story sounds like it could have been a fox. Vixen's cries are very loud and can definitely sound somewhat human. Plus, it would explain the sudden silence of the other animal noises. Prey animals often stop making noises around predators, especially larger ones.
On the supernatural side of things, I vote banshee. But fr it would be super creepy to learn that in hindsight op realized a relative had actually passed away around the time of the cry. (😄I'm hearing Dee shrieking @Charlie "banshees aren't 𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘦𝘦𝘦𝘢𝘢𝘭")
@@robinmcinarnay7827 you'd be surprised how real the supernatural is. Plus saying it's a fox is only an opinion. I don't see her actually knowing what it is anyway.
Could also be a bobcat their family common where I'm from and they'll sure scare the crap outta ya if you don't know how they sound plus it would explain why op only heard it once because Bob cats tend to roam and not stay in one place for long
Alone out there can wear on you. In 2009 I spent 90 days in the San Juan National Mountains in Colorado. By the way, that's not exactly legal to do either. Trying to make friends with the local wildlife while living off fish is the best way to cope with the utter loneliness. There was one Ranger that came by occasionally to chat with me, he had no issues with it, as I left no traces when I moved around. I did have a sidearm, but never needed to make use of it.
In story 3/the bell story, the chimes are probably from nearby hikers' bear bells These bells are designed to alert bears in the area that there's something there and so they can avoid it. It serves as a warning so wild animals aren't startled. If bears are frequent in the area, it makes sense that hikers would carry them, even if there aren't actual bear signs just to be safe
Bear Bells don't sound like distant church bells. I hear'em all the time here in NH. They're a jingly bell sound instead. Don't think that's what this guy was hearing.

Once again just a suggestion for a video, keep up the amazing work Legendary Reads! The creepier, the better. We can handle it ❤️
All those years I used to wonder why my Dad backed the car in whenever we went camping. It seemed silly to go through the trouble, especially when we were in a tight spot. I never thought to ask. But the guy in the first story answered it for me. Damn. I feel dumb.
I agree. Many people think the woods are nice places where Bambi frolics and yellow flowers grow in sunlit clearings. Not me. To me, they're sinister places where there's always an evil presence. These woods horror stories have exactly the right threatening feeling.
There's something so raw and terrifying about the things that lurk in the woods and call it home. We can never truly know everything about them. So interesting
I know where the story at 18:30 takes place! I worked there for a summer a few years ago with the foundation, building poacher outlooks. Beautiful area but definitely reminds you that you’re not the top dog in the jungle. I got rushed by a male there a few times too, I wonder if it was the same orangutan. So crazy to hear it mentioned here. Love your channel, keep up the good work!
Yeah it’s weird when he tells stories about places you’ve been. The first 2 stories on this video take place in places I’ve been a lot. I’m from Washington state and every river and town they mentioned I’ve been to. Never experienced anything weird like these people did but still good stories.
Were you too almost murdered by an overgrown housecat?!?! :/ Thank you for your work in deterring poachers. (Truly, No Sarcasm here) It's so sad to think of how many wild animals suffer so some Jap can have a "mystical concoction" to enhance his manhood. Makes me sick. The pelts too, im sure, are worth $, but it's terribly disturbing how many exotic animals are poached for use in these ridiculous Asian remedies.
I wonder if the story with the animals in the trees was a mountain lion that did it, they put their prey up in the trees to keep away from scavengers. Though I'm not sure if they do that many at once.
I’m from Washington state and most of the time when you stumble on animals hanging in the trees in mass quantities it’s pouchers. Very rarely will you see a mountain lion or cougar, and even more rarely will you see evidence of them hanging their meal in trees as they would eat on the spot and are apex predators in this area. More than likely an old pouchers camp that was abandoned or uninhabited at that time. Take all the animals down and tear down any structure that might be there then turn into the game warden.
@@sirdumbthicc4294 Cougars very much inhabit Washington state. Just because you don't see them certainly doesn't mean they're not there (stealth predators). Storing prey in trees is highly characteristic of mountain lions, so it's very very likely that's what this person came across. They were smart to get out of there but I highly doubt they were poachers. Poachers wouldn't leave the animals 1. in such bad shape, or 2. to decay and get really nasty. Poachers kill to sell, not to leave alone to rot.
@@kyblaze2527 yeah but hunters will. Those sickos sometimes kill out of the thrill of it and piss on wildlife. Hunting should be outlawed nowadays since NORMAL people got o grocery stores.
@@Utubesanarc that’s not a good move. When the grid collapses you can’t get anything from the grocery store. Oh that’s right, you also don’t know how to hunt either. So I think both are necessary.
I've been listening to Let's Read for 3 years now. He is my favorite out of all the RUclips story tellers...out of those 3 years...the story about the Lesbian couple...was the first story where I knew them. I was driving at the time of listening. I had to pull over and catch a breath. Memories of my mid twenties came flooding back. You see, I'm pushing 50 myself and grew up in Virginia and met them when I lived in Richmond. I met them when I was 22. We became good friends. I'm still blown away...but I just knew one day...I would hear about it on RUclips or some other platform in these days sometime soon. 😥💔😢🙏
I lived near the Shenandoah Valley around the time this happened. I found a picture of the girls and have sat on that very wall. I'd go up there after dark and just hang out sometimes alone other times with friends. I had no idea this happened without a care in the world.
What can I say ? Wonderful stories and another home run 🏃♀️. These particular stories put me in a trance as I listened & had me longing for nature hikes
I was born and raised in Aberdeen, WA about an hour south of Lake Quinault. I would be curious to know if that man was ever found, what his story was, and if he ever had any actual victims. That area is so sparsely populated that people could set up camps throughout the peninsula and be undiscovered. I've also visited the east side, and a lot of it has a rugged feeling ideal for cults to thrive.
The "stalked by a Clouded Leopard" story was hilarious, how they played it up as such a "big cat"... They're similar to Ocelots. Barely bigger than house cats. If anyone has ever seen a pet Bengal cat, they're about twice the size of that. The story going on about "if our guide hadn't been there, we'd be in real trouble! He saved our lives!"... Cloudies are literally smaller than a Border collie dog. They have never killed anyone in recorded history. Listen to the story again and imagine a whole group of trained adults, pissing themselves over one curious young bobcat. That was silly. Lol
Literally what I said to myself as I tapped search backwards to re-hear what had been said to clarify it...oh my god if it hadnt been for the local guide my ankles may have been severely scratched haha
