As soon as I heard that girl had to wait on a neighbor's porch for 45 minutes before driving her back home, I KNEW immediately the neighbor was in on it. Nobody would "finish cooking breakfast" while a bruised and hurt child waits OUTSIDE on their porch! Crazy!

I had my rott puppy for about 6 months when my husband was on our road about to come home and sees some young girl practically dragging our dog on a leash down our road away from our house. Thank God he stopped and said something. She claimed the dog was hers until my hubs got out (exciting our puppy, seeing his dad) and called him "Brother come here buddy" lol our rott nearly yanked her to the ground so excited. He dove in the truck and they pulled into the driveway to see me outside calling for our pup. (btw my daughter named him lol we got him on her first valentines day. She is now 4 and him 3, they are best friends and I never have to worry about intruders or letting her play out in our yard if I need to walk away a minute or something.
We also had a neighbor steal our two small rescue dogs when they got loose once. She hid them in her home for days trying to claim they were not our dogs when we were going house to house asking if they had been seen. People are so strange.... like its hard to go adopt an animal at a shelter or something 🙄 no lets just steal our neighbors pets! We have been very lucky so far thankfully smh

For a woman with her own children to leave a bruised and bloody 6year old outside for almost an hour cause she needed to finish cooking breakfast is absolutely mind BLOWING! And even more so after she was told by the little girl that someone murdered her grandmother! She very easily could or Calle the police, and brought that little girl in her house and gave her a blanket! Seriously IDK what goes thru people's minds sometimes...

It's important to remember that the US justice system isn't broken by a few idiots. It's working as those with the power to change want it to. It largely exists to vilify an underclass, make a show of big fines for scapegoats from the upper echelons, and keep slave labor in for profit prison pursuits at capacity. In many jurisdictions, the municipality must pay a penalty if their prison system drops below 97% full or so.

Regarding story #6... I hear the same BS over and over again when someone is so clearly wrongfully convicted to the point where there's actual physical evidence exonerating them. The courts/prosecutors are so dead set on upholding the conviction because to them having the admit they actually wrongfully convicted and jailed/sentenced to death an innocent person is somehow worse than actually maintaining that conviction and keeping that person in jail (or actually killing them in death penalty cases). Literally, to these assholes, evidence of innocence DOESN'T COUNT. Only evidence of guilt.

Story 6 literally sounds like something from Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney, because the judge was like you can't just prove your innocence, you also need to find the actual killer.

RIP Mia. Coincidentally I just came across the newspaper clipping from Seattle regarding the investigation into her murder. It was in some old papers from my youth. It did indeed shake everyone at that time.

What's the deal with story 5? Is this a letter somebody found or was it released by the private I himself? I doubt the latter, it would be unethical to reveal the client's real name.

Pretty sure the names were changed. There is no missing person named wendy werner, and no obituary young enough by that name to match either.

This might be a weird compliment but I think you're the only person that actually does True Crime related stuff if used with stories that were submitted honestly I think it's a breath of fresh air compared to the cut and paste story that a person narrates and talks about it for 2 seconds and then heads to the next story I like the fact that you do the story Justice by explaining the entire thing rather than just skimming over it and getting to the scary or interesting parts of it

I don't care WHAT the charges are against me, I would 100 % of the time elect for a bench trial. I trust judges more than I do my peers. The general citizenry by a huge majority, goes into the hearings thinking the police and prosecutor are always right....thus the defendant is GUILTY until proven innocent in their eyes. Right after I turned 19, I was on a jury. I was so happy that both sides felt enough confidence in me to vote to keep me. We had an incredible group of folks. We were very diverse, but all good people. I was by far, the youngest. After we delivered our verdict, both the prosecutor AND defense attorneys came up and told us we made the right decision, and did an excellent job. That is one of my top 3 proudest moments in my life. I wish I could work 1 jury a year. I think every able-bodied American should do it at least once.

For story 5, my theory is that what ever happened to Wendy, it gave her a major dissociative disorder (mental disorders that involve experiencing a disconnection and lack of continuity between thoughts, memories, surroundings, actions and identity).
