- The Salt Bae Nusr-Et GOLD Tomahawk STEAK Review with a final bill of £1300. We have all seen Gemma Collins and other major celebrities eat at London's Nusr-Et Steakhouse in London with Salt Bae sprinkling salt over the steak and then post their obscene receipt of their final bill on social media. Salt Bae has built his restaurant empire around this. So I wanted to experience the Tomahawk Steak including the edible gold leaf and expose this marketing con and what profit he makes out of this complete madness. So here's my review of a Gold Plated Tomahawk Salt Bae Nusr-Et Steak.

Lee , if I was a billionaire I wouldn’t pay £680 for a steak even if it was a steak covered in Jason’s Golden Fleece, if the people who eat at salt bae like getting ripped off good luck to them I bet the owner is hysterical laughing every time someone orders a gold steak

Absolute rip off mate, Gold actually taste of nothing and add no nutritional value or lends no flavor profile to the meat at all, it's just their for show and flare and to make the meat shiny at an added 500 pound mark up. Steak houses around London have just as good a steak, in quality and texture for 1/10 the price about 100 pounds or so with sides and drink.
See what people like Trump Bill Gates and Warren Buffet like to eat. They love simple everyday fast food. Go figure.
I dont blame the salt bae guy, if there are rich mugs who will pay it then fair play to him. But , Dave's food looks amazing, Would happily pay 50 for that as a treat.

Absolutely he didn't come from a rich family. Good on him, it's rubbish but then again so is a lot of things.
What common folk don't understand is that wealthy people don't use their personal budget for eating out, fun and games infact rarely do they use personal budget for anything. Dining out for example will be debited from one of several business accounts and logged as a business related meal and claimed back via annual accounting. Salt Bae is expensive to us but essentially a free meal for them ..just so you know.
Utter contempt for the people that waste money like this just to look good and smug when genuine people are using food banks .

If I was able to pay £1300 for a meal, I would give £1250 to charity and have that meal for £50 at Porterhouse. I've had incredible Wagyu steak in Kobe, Japan and it didn't cost a fraction of that price. An obscene amount of money for a meal.

As for Salt Bae, never understood the fascination, but in the terms of a lot of people who eat at his places, they do say a fool and his money are easily parted. The Bae man must be laughing at how stupid the world can be whenever he looks at his bank accounts.

The food you had looked awesome and fairly priced unlike Salt Bae which is ridiculous, he won't last. I have to give Chef Dave's tomahawk steak with the trimmings 10/10. Keep up the good work this vlog was the creme de creme, one of the best you have done.

Places that charge ridiculously high prices do so to keep out the “ordinary common people.”This gives the rich somewhere to go where they don’t have to mix with them. The rich are not worried about the prices. They can easily afford it. £1300 to them is peanuts. I could feed myself for months on that money.

I'm so glad you didn't go to his restaurant, when I saw the first shot I knew it wasn't saltbays restaurant, and I also know saltbay over charges by about a mile, I've bought gold leaf previously for a cake I was decorating for my daughter and it cost me $18 for a pack so I know they rip people off with there prices, now even I'd pay what you did there for that same meal, good job Lee 👍

Just on principal alone Lee. It gets a zero out of ten from me... I wouldn't purchase this meal, even if i'd won the Lottery Jackpot... That's a ludicrous amount of money to pay, just to consume a single meal for one... This is basically an exercise in adding expensive overpriced items together, in order to give those with money to burn, some kind of bragging rights... Which is why all these "So Called Celebrities"... are literally falling over themselves to try this... I've got news for those thinking that edible Gold Leaf, in some way adds to the taste of the Tomahawk Steak... (It doesn't)... And charging £18.00 for a glass of Diet Coca-Cola, tells you everything you need to know about this pretentious meal... I would rather go to my local Chippy and spend £15.00 on a damn good meal for one... including a 2 Litre Bottle of Diet Coca-Cola... and save myself a whopping £1,321... It's right what they say!... "Some people have more money than sense".

Salt Bae is a greedy had been and a rip off. There is no way I’d ever pay £600 for a steak and whoever does is mental. For what he had in his plate with the wine Salt Bae was charging £1,300 and this chef here did the lot for just £50. It just proves you can have a decent strake meal for a fair price you don’t need to go to rip off Salt Bae

I was going to comment saying it just looked like gold coloured tinfoil on top :) I think it's great to see how these meals in these outrageous restaurants can be done with the same quality meat without the horrendous price tag. As it happens, I'll be having steak myself tomorrow (from my local butcher). Safe travels to the USA :)

The thing with nusret it depends what u order. I went a few weeks ago in a group of five and the total came to under £700. I remember the total divided by 5 was around 135 per person and we ordered 3 starters (carpaccio,burrata, salad) , 3 cuts( lamb chops, wagu, thin steak), side(fries), 1 coke and an alcoholic drink. Given its high end under £700 for 5 isn't that bad. the person that complained about the gold tomahawk decided to order that at her own expense, she should have seen the price before ordering. and she ordered wayyy more than what we ordered in our group

I've read that Salt Bae closed his restaurant in London and thank goodness for that ! He is just an ordinary guy who makes money feeding celebrities making a show around a piece of meat! Much better to support local businesses , paying a reasonable price. Thanks Lee.

Any steakhouse that has the audacity to inflate the price of Coke 9x against most other restaurants immediately gets me wondering if their food is really worth what they’re charging, because I know for a fact the drinks aren’t.
