Great video and most interesting..I have my dad's 1977 Akai 4000ds mk11 which he bought new and I've recently put a new pinch roller on it which makes it play back properly now but the deck has a few issues which I'd like to sort to bring it back to life properly cause I really like it and it has sentimental attachment..I'm looking for someone in the UK who could service/repair it sometime this year..
If I remember correctly, if you take off the front panel and there is a mechanism that operates a timer switch with a spring. This is when the switch starts and stops the engine. You have to look for the fault there.

Szia. A videoban láthatod, hogy a hajtótengelyek kuplungját csak tisztítom, más beállítás itt nincs. Ha nyávog a készülék az lehet a hátsó csévélőt fékező hibás beállítása miatt is. Esetleg a nyomógörgő cserére szorul. De érdemes lehet a capstantengelyt tisztitani olajozni, illetve a motort ellenőrizni.

@@user-wv1xv6vp9b Igen, ott lehet állítani az orsó lejátszás közbeni fékező nyomatékát, illetve érdemes megnézni, hogy a leállást fékező gumi fékbetétek esetleg nem fékeznek e lejátszás közben. 13:31-nél láthatod a bal oldali fékezőt.
@@retrodeck1956 Do you mean like sewing machiene oil or is that too thin ? I'm cleaning probably a mk1, it has rubber caps to hold the reels in place. And you happen to know what the stud is for right above the heads casing ? Thanks for sharing your repair video.

should of removed the armature from the motor case and cleaned the old gum build up off the commutator brushes.

Hello. For cleaning, use isopropyl alcohol and WD 40, as well as smooth instrument oil for the axles. Lubricate only minimally.

@@BrainHurricanes Hi. Yes, sewing machine oil is perfect. When you use another speed and remove the cylinder from the capstan, you can store it there.
