your video says replacement... it's missing the replace part where you go over installing a new battery with battery adhesive and screen adhesive... half the video is missing....
00sevensargent- I’m not sure why every single comment isn’t what you just said lol... you’d be f*cked if you were following the guide then all of a sudden you can’t put the fone back together again 😂
Decent video, but a bit rushed, and obviously doesn't cover the re-assembly, but just do things in reverse. I just replaced the battery on my iPhone 7 plus successfully. Took me a little bit to get the top part of the screen off, as it seems to have a plastic lip along the top, so it doesn't just pop up and off. It cannot be overstated to be careful with the loose screws - they are crazy small. And on at least two parts, one of the screws is bigger than the others, so you have to keep them straight. One of mine got lost in the phone for 10-15 minutes and I used a needle and magnet to fish it out. Also, wait to reconnect the battery *last* after the screen reconnect. I didn't do this, and while it didn't cause any issues, supposedly it can cause components to die. Overall, it took me about 45 minutes to replace the battery, but that was due to the screw that tried to go AWOL. You have to be good with tiny, tiny, tiny parts. If I had to do this again, I would try to do it without removing the screen, but that seems risky with the delicate screen cables.
GamingForCheesecake Not necessarily there could be something very specific with putting the adhesive strips back in. Don’t make an assumptions. There’s always hidden gotchas with technology
What happened to the days when you could just, you know, swap the battery in about 3 seconds! I deserve to become a certified Apple technician if I can compete this! The only reason it’s this complicated is because Apple realised that the battery is just about the only consumable item in the phone and they could make even more money if they bolt half the phone over the top of it so most people pay to get it done when there’s absolutely no reason why you shouldn’t be able to just pop the back off and take the battery out!
Hi, i just want to ask if im gonna change my battery for my Iphone7plus, Do you think it will have a problem with the performance of the phone? or not?
The last few steps arent necessary. You can just use your tweezers and grab the tabs for the battery adhesive. You only need to take it that far apart if your adhesive tears and you cant get the end of it anymore.
You can ruin the home button by over tightening the bottom two screws when you put it back together. Next time you might wanna walk people through putting it back together so you can tell people this. Now I have to watch another video on how to replace the home button, but it won’t be your video.
Why are you removing half of the phone? You don’t need to remove Taptic Engine or anything. ALSO you can NEVER get the strips out the way she removed them. You don’t need to heat the phone up. Use tweezers, as your pulling the strip out wrap the strip around the tweezer. Pull, twist, pull twist. Man i can’t wait to make a RUclips channel on how to PROPERLY fix iPhones.
I did this today. I didn’t have any new adhesive, so I took some silicone caulk and carefully lined it around the edge with a toothpick 👀 it’s working so far (I’m typing on the phone) but we’ll see how it holds up. Not that I would recommend it, I think silicone caulk is acidic so you’ll have to be very careful. Also there’s no guaranteeing the waterproofing worked
I sure am glad I did not purchase a battery. Once you remove the old battery - then no need for a battery any longer apparently. I think they forgot the second half of the video. lmao
I like how the website claims it take 30min - 2 hours to complete but they show us in less than 4 minutes. 😂 I guarantee my adhesive strips all break off half way through their removal. 🤣😂
Ifixit one question, I'm looking to get the iPhone 7 plus battery kit I see in the description that it comes with display adhesive, how do i put the adhesive in? Is it a strip like the battery one or is it different ?
today I changed my Iphone battery, and it just does not work, THe phone keeps rebooting over and over, and it does not charge. It can’t be the battery because I changed 3 and it only works with the battery I had before What did I do wrong?
Yep all you really need to do is disconnect the ribbon cable that the battery is attached to. Very unnecessary to remove the screen or the Taptic Engine.
I work in phone repair and am confronted with many iPhone users every day. Letting many of these people service their own phones would cause Apple more headaches than it's worth. Swappable batteries also affect the look (Apple is very focused on looks) and the durability (Apple would sell less phones) of these phones. Not to mention the waterproofing.
Like Dany said, Apple is big on privacy and security. It's much more difficult to open an iPhone and find the memory chip and then somehow read the encryption than it is to take out someones SD card and be on your way.
Just unclip the batter clip?! I dont understand why its necessary to remove the whole screen and the lil engine! (and whoevers about to reply with 'static electricity traveling through the screws and brackets', spare me.)
Don't bet on it. I just got my iPhone 7 plus back from the Apple store in Philadelphia and so far the screen protector is a mess and definitely needs to be replaced. I don't know what they did but this was on perfectly and now looks useless. I just hope there are no new weak points that will break. The new battery has exactly the identical amount of charge showing as the battery that was in the phone to start with. I don't trust a company like Apple at all.
Guys PLEASE HELP ME OUT !!! I've dropped my iPhone 7 plus and it opened between the back antenna lines and the other part. Now first of all the "glue" that makes the parts waterproof is gone , and second of all I dont know what to do. PLEASE HELP ME OUT
Omggggggg, some step is not important. Why u move the screen out? And the bottom no need to remove too. And open the screen take a long long long time.
Ok I'm sorry but this seems way too scary for my little heart to handle
worked perfectly! Didn't use heat...just pried it open with the adhesive still intact. Scary moments but it worked
your video says replacement... it's missing the replace part where you go over installing a new battery with battery adhesive and screen adhesive... half the video is missing....

remember back in the day when you could just pull the back cover off your Samsung
Hell yeah!😂
mEtAlMaNiAc787 how I wish it was like back then but welp...CAPITALISM!
Those were the real days man......
I recommend doing this outside in the rain to kinda set the mood!!😎

This isn't a video on how to replace the battery this is how to remove it.
you're stupid if you can't just do it in reverse
mr jackonno78 is right
GamingForCheesecake Not necessarily there could be something very specific with putting the adhesive strips back in. Don’t make an assumptions. There’s always hidden gotchas with technology
if you can't put adhesive strips in without a video tutorial, then you shouldn't be opening your iphone to work on it
@@gamingforcheesecake3668 that's not the point. The video title and what the video shows are two different things

Ok now for step 341. Take the discobob and dialate the rebo plate and put your left hand on yellow.
I’m just go to the repair shop after quarantine, thanks
Dear lord I will just pay the 50 bucks for a new battery and install from a professional.
Hi, i just want to ask if im gonna change my battery for my Iphone7plus, Do you think it will have a problem with the performance of the phone? or not?
In other words, don't change your iPhone 7 plus battery.
The last few steps arent necessary. You can just use your tweezers and grab the tabs for the battery adhesive. You only need to take it that far apart if your adhesive tears and you cant get the end of it anymore.

Does it destroy water proofing ?
my question too
Hanniffy Dinn No
*****
Doesn't even look waterproof, thought it has some seal you had to remove... confusing....
yes it does. waterproofing depends on the adhesive under the screen.
Don't lie to people. This will absolutely kill the waterproofing.
I did this today. Is a lot of work, I think I’m better take it to the shop lol
nice dude its parrfact vodeo ever big fan from india
what a personality
Does it still water resistant ? When repaired ?
I might have screwed up. Just the screen part I guess! I opened it from the top! Not the book way/flip
damn i did the same thing. You just need a screen replacement
This video was n ot about replacing the battery. It was about taking the old battery out ! lol
Thank you Gwen!
Thanks for create this video, more funcional
You guys are the best. Very detailed and practical videos. Parts and tools are also of great quality. Thank You!
Damn people already swapping batteries? I haven't even got the phone yet
Where can i buy the replacement battery, also replacement speakers ?
Idk why apple just doesn't put a special screw to take the back off and you can replace the battery right away like an Android???
can you add a bigger battery to it?
Femeie ! M-ai lasat cu bateria pe masa ! Nu zici si cum se pune aia noua?
Does replacement battery don't turn off itself
It didnt look like the different cables around the sides of the battery had to be removed.
And how you do you put everything back? 🙆🏻♀️
Kokusima Sima you just repeat but backwards...
Too scary, but thank you!
Thank you 😉
At 2:01 when I'm removing the screws there are 2 that won't come off or twist I am using the right screwdriver
You're in a rush
I sure am glad I did not purchase a battery. Once you remove the old battery - then no need for a battery any longer apparently. I think they forgot the second half of the video. lmao
I like how the website claims it take 30min - 2 hours to complete but they show us in less than 4 minutes. 😂 I guarantee my adhesive strips all break off half way through their removal. 🤣😂
They made it look really easy to lift the display after heating the adhesive.
well i did my 6s battery replacement once,
never turn your phone on while replacing it because mine was sabotaged by the battery electricity lol

Wow not complicated at all 🤦🏾♀️😂
Ifixit one question, I'm looking to get the iPhone 7 plus battery kit I see in the description that it comes with display adhesive, how do i put the adhesive in? Is it a strip like the battery one or is it different ?
Have to do this for an old friend. Thank you
very nice
Fix my iPhone 7 plus battery plz
today I changed my Iphone battery, and it just does not work,
THe phone keeps rebooting over and over, and it does not charge.
It can’t be the battery because I changed 3 and it only works with the battery I had before
What did I do wrong?
U literally could just pull the adhesive strips without taking out your Taptic engine
yes but there is more chance for them strips to tear with the engine in place.
Yep all you really need to do is disconnect the ribbon cable that the battery is attached to. Very unnecessary to remove the screen or the Taptic Engine.
This video is just several steps away from being a complete teardown.
do they explode too?
Where do you get good iPhone battery? So far every battery I got for iPhone was garbage.
It would not hold a charge or make the phone act up.
Enseñen también cómo reemplazar la batería del Galaxy Note 7.
Luis E. Dejas q explote y ahi la sacas xD
Ese chiste ya está aburrido y trillado. Ya no das gracia sino pena, amigo.
Luis E.

Clear instructions
Thank you!
You lost me at the tools needed
So far this is the only negative with my phone I have found.
I have 2 red iPhone 7 Plus I wanna switch the batteries will that work?
Yes but why can't you just buy a new one or sell your old iPhone.. Theres no point
Already ??? That's your aPple for ya ! XD
2020 iCucumber is coming for only $2500!!
I wonder why Apple made it so difficult.
Couldn't they build in the ability to swap out batteries and maybe go with micro SD memory cards?
I work in phone repair and am confronted with many iPhone users every day. Letting many of these people service their own phones would cause Apple more headaches than it's worth. Swappable batteries also affect the look (Apple is very focused on looks) and the durability (Apple would sell less phones) of these phones. Not to mention the waterproofing.
xxnike629xx sd cards are not secure and most of them are also slow and unreliable
+oKtosiTe Almost seems like he was trolling, but you gave a really accurate and kind answer eitherway. Thanks for that!
Like Dany said, Apple is big on privacy and security. It's much more difficult to open an iPhone and find the memory chip and then somehow read the encryption than it is to take out someones SD card and be on your way.
I just let it sit in the sun for 15 min in the summer and came right off I wish they make a upgraded battery they suck
bruh i just did it and it made my homebutton stop working not happy at all
After watching this video I've decided to go back to Samsung.
already?
And the rest..?
Do it in reverse
Just unclip the batter clip?! I dont understand why its necessary to remove the whole screen and the lil engine! (and whoevers about to reply with 'static electricity traveling through the screws and brackets', spare me.)
Aint nobody got time for that. I will bring my iphone to repair service for changing or replacing parts. It will save lots of time of my life. LUL.
Don't bet on it. I just got my iPhone 7 plus back from the Apple store in Philadelphia and so far the screen protector is a mess and definitely needs to be replaced. Good
but why you always focusing on iPhone teardown some other phone
The Problem is you can't purchase apple batteries. So you have to go to apple to get a New one 🤷♂️
having to pay that much money to take it apart is almost not worth it because I am a 12 year old kid
what can you use instead for the heat?
Quantum Information fan
Easy plus you dont need to remove the screen.
I miss her ):
This is so difficult and complicated
hopefully last!
Where is my iOpener?
Put in a new battery and
Looks like the screen will broke in one wrong move
Omg !!! Im in love with her !! 😍
I thought she was Ashley Tisdale for a sec
You rushed why? Why did you not show how to reassemble the phone. 1 out of 5 stars.
Download this video and and play it from end to start
NO need to remove the screen OR the engine! Just more work and higher risk of losing screws or damaging the phone 📱
auxmike true. Just be careful not to tear the flex cable of the screen. Not necessary removing it.
I'm not messing with the 7's.
Guys PLEASE HELP ME OUT !!! I've dropped my iPhone 7 plus and it opened between the back antenna lines and the other part. Now first of all the "glue" that makes the parts waterproof is gone , and second of all I dont know what to do. PLEASE HELP ME OUT
30min later heading to apple store for a new phone.
Nice nails 👌
How to break your phone
Welp, looks like I’m going to Best Buy.
how to remove android battery;
1. take off back of phone and whack the battery out.
2....thats all...?
wendy williams you mean like on the note 7 or the galaxy s 7 or the one plus 3.
i suppose thats only for the androids i've come in contact with
*****
i dont get the big deal?
i explained how to take out most android batteries as a joke.
LG does and also have SD memory card
its remarkable phone EXCEPT few months into using it and it just shutsdown and wont start again LOL
Tom ya but then you have a shitty android phone. There is the iPhone and then everything else.
Omggggggg, some step is not important. Why u move the screen out? And the bottom no need to remove too. And open the screen take a long long long time.
No way. I will either pay someone to do it or get a battery case.
