My name is Chrome i have been living in y cargo van for 6 years now. I started this lifestyle BROKE and IN DEBT and after 11 months of living the van life i cleared my debt and started to put my life back together and build for a better future. I have turned my original van into a badass camper van that is lifted with all the toys. Over the years i went from being broke and stealth camping in the city and sleeping at walmarts... to now, living fulltime in a jacked up van and driving deep off-grid into the backcountry and living life in the dirt. WOW LIFE HAS CHANGED.

Hearts open to our Canadian neighbors who have/are going through so much with the fires. We're getting Canadian smoke in MN but in upper level winds at the moment. Breeze off Lake Superior is keeping air clear.

Chrome, I agree with the idea of traveling in the fall and spring - I like winter too. Summer can suck, especially in southern Nevada. So I can build up a huge electric bill have the air conditioning on day and night or get the hell out and go to the ocean in Oregon or Washington hoping for no fires there.. You are very flexible and with your awesome attitude, things have a way of working out!

It's so interesting watching this cause I was literally travelling through Cache Creek on the 22nd and you were there 1 day later. Yea, that spot that looks like a salty lake that's all dried up, it's pretty much always like that in the summer. A couple times in my life I've seen it with water in it but not many. I've taken that route to my family cabin in the cariboo a few hundred times at this point in my life, lol.
Telling you Chrome…summer is not the season for you to travel far. You need to stay near the shop. You are right…travel when it’s cooler, in the spring and the fall.
And winters are even more difficult. Maybe he should do traveling in the states. Going down to washinton. Oregon. California
I did the flea tick medication for my 2 dogs yesterday. OMG it is a challenge. I tried soaking in bacon grease and mixed in with food. They spit it out. I just put far back in their throat and hold their mouth and rub their neck to get them to swallow. They are now protected from all the bugs. I enjoy your videos. I am hoping to make the trip to Vancouver next year. Safe travels. I live in Connecticut USA.

Plus the most northern town of Atlin Bc. It’s called little Switzerland. Kluane Lake Area is breathtaking. Plus 3 options for entering Alaska. Like Skagway Ak. 100 miles from Whitehorse Yukon. They are evacuating 0:00 hundreds of people in several part of Alberta. The fire keeps moving. Please be careful and get out of there as fast as you can if they put out evacuation notices.

It's bad out here in Alberta.
The smoke is terrible there, dang fires. We've got alot of smoke in the air here in Southern Wyoming, it seems that every year it gets worse, we've had hotter than normal temperatures here, and no rain. Time to do the rain dance.

A shame Jasper and Baneaff are burning rom wildfires. I remember seeing the news of fires chasing Ft. Mc Murray burning in Canada. I am in Colorado, USA and we have the heavy Canada Wildfire Smoke coming south into Colorado. Take care Chrome and Chewy.
I cruise and learned the hard way to avoid sumner season. The only place to go then on a cruise is to Alaska.
Otherwise it’s just tooooo hot.

Hi Chrome, your question about Starlink permanently mounted? It seems to be no problem with about 90% of the storm chasers here in the lower 48, about the only issue is the monster hail, but that's it.
You guys may be getting some smoke from the USA this year. We're having a lot of fires because of the extreme heat across the states.

Happy to see you have come through our area. There are a lot of beautiful places to camp along Green Lake if you took a back road at 70 Mile House. You would have had an epic time seeing how beautiful the lake really is. Lots of places to camp by the lake with fantastic candy beaches. Hopefully you will stop in on your way when you head south on your way home. Happy trails the Cariboo is a beautiful area to visit..Hwy 24 is also a beautiful drive on the Fishing Hwy...many many lakes...have an adventurous holiday and drive safe.❤
Put in the BC Wildfire App. It's burning everywhere. Not sure what date this video is but heading north on 97 has alot of fires. Williams lake has had 3 in city area in the last 4 days. Lac la hache has fires and 100 mile has fires. Hwy 16 west has fires and Hwy 16 east has fires. Yukon has fires and Alaska has fires.😢
Yeh you definitely don't want ticks and fleas cruisey I watched a RUclips creator who's dog got fleas in the camper van he ended up ripping the whole build apart cause fleas were so bad he had to redo the whole build after he got the van sterilized and treated

Stick a window AC in one of your back windows. A 5000 btu unit will pull a max of 450 watts when the compressor is on. If you buy one that has a digital thermostat it will maintain temp and run very efficiently in eco mode. It's a $200 fix and your 400ah batteries can easily run that all night. They even come in Black to match your van!!!

Those fires are so sad! I used to live in an area prone to fires every summer 😢 Those pay inside gas stations automatically put back whatever amount you don't use BUT you have to go back in for a receipt 90% of the time! 🤪

Another 23 km you could be at Greeny Lake just outside Lac La Hache... I've always had luck stopping in there
The summers in BC are so sad now. We live in the Lower Mainland and It seems every year the fires are getting worse. Sometimes the smoke does reach us and can be hazy for a few days. We don’t really go anywhere on holidays now because of it. I enjoyed seeing Green Lake as that’s a place we always went when I was young. Haven’t been there for a few years now. I always found it was too cold to swim in haha! Be safe on your travels!

The smoke is all the way down here in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We woke to thinking we had a wildfire but it's the smoke from that fire up there. Unreal how far it travels. I do agree with the not a great idea traveling in summer time with Cruz in that heat in all that fire country. Every year it's the same up there, be safe in your travels Chrome! Oh and fyi my dog does the same thing, he will spit it out no matter how small i make it, put some peanut butter on it and it's gone!
I moved away from Jasper 2 1/2 yrs ago, moved to Kelowna , It got burnt badly last summer, now this year It's jasper... who's next? STAY SAFE Chrome and Cruzy!

Hey where are you? We're in Calgary and there's no smoke yet.
The fires in BC got an early start this year, we had to re-route back in May to avoid fires in Ft Nelson - it's mostly clear once you get up to Whitehorse, but that's a crap drive in smoke. We'll be driving back down through it in Sept and I'm already dreading it
Most of western Canada is affected by the smoke even Saskatchewan. Best to stay at home to not add a burden to others. I heard many tourists were stranded in Jasper and some had to head towards Kamloops to get back around to Calgary. The new norm lately is smoke in June-Aug... Do trips in spring/fall/winter.
Our news here in Ontario said there are 300 forest fires in British Columbia aloan! I’m sure it’s gonna be hard to get away from all that smoke like last year. It was the same.
