imagine sitting on a plane listening to this song, thinking of the all the miles you've travelled, all the storms you've been through, and all the baggage you've been carrying, then the lights come on and you've reached your destination:
a seaside town, the ocean breeze in your hair, the sunset illuminating the sky in pink and orange hues, and then home.
home where your husband and daughter are waiting for you, in your place by the sea,
and finally, after years of being lost,
you've finally come home.
That was honestly so beautiful.
grammar please bruhhhh I just got so emotional 😭 wow how u do that?!!!🥺👏🏻
THIS is the context this song was made for
thank you, i hope we all finally get to come home someday.
this plot is basically Fun: Why Am I The Only One :D
Second - 00:01
Me - I love this song
Same!!
Me since the first time I listened to Music
Found you
Same
Literally me
"couldn't wait till I got outside"
this hits different when in quarantine damn
ikr?😓
Me too haha
Woahh 😓
yea
I thought this was a quarantine song xd
This song hits different when you have problems and everything seems so overwhelming and you're all alone. You have no one by your side to share the burden with you. That's when you get homesick, miss your home town, miss your parents and the sense of safety and assurance that they gave you. But you realize that you're an adult now and you have to stand on your own feet no matter what. So you cry yourself to sleep, wake up the next morning and tell yourself that everything is gonna be alright.
Damnnn who's cutting
onions ???
Damm that's deep but I get u :(
Oh indeed I know this feeling so very much. When I lost the love of my life, lost to me but not gone, she is out there somewhere. She was and still is the brightest light in my life I have ever known.
No dude. Believe me that our parents always there for us.
"Don't call me when you are happy. But call me when you are down"
I hope you'll be able to listen to the song in a different light when it is right for you and you have the comforts you speak of missing. 🫂
_this song made me cry several times -_

Give it a year until this song appears in sentimental commercials.

Yeah a UK central heating advert with stupid cute characters called Gaz and Lecky! Like we are all idiots. Still she will make lots of money from it hopefully.

Natasha Doran I’ve never met a Sigrid fan, in Portugal I don’t know any, @trindade_385 , that’s my Instagram, send me a message if you want to talk about Sigrid😁
I remember when Charlotte Church 1st hit the airwaves. She was my favorite. When she retired, I thought there would not be a voice like hers again...
... Until now.
A new voice of an angel.
A truly beautiful song.
I’m currently a freshman in college and this song made me miss my Mamma at home. If you see this, I love you mamma ji.
"Independence comes with a price"
This line hits so hard, when you are just away from home and realise what comfort 'home' give you😪
Who's cutting onions
Verse 1]
Couldn't wait 'til I got outside
Wondering what the world be like
I knew I had to change my mind
Didn't realize it would happen, all so soon, all so soon
[Pre-Chorus]
But, I see the world so different now
But, there's a place by the sea and that's my town
[Chorus]
When I don't know what to say
When I don't know what to do
There's a room I need to sit in
Surrounded by my favorite view
When I need a hand to hold
Someone to tell the truth
Would it be okay if I came home to you?
[Verse 2]
Mmm
Independence comes with a price
When questioning your own advice
But I know I'll be alright
With an open door, no matter what I do, what I do
[Pre-Chorus]
Mmm, but I see the world so different now
But, there's a place by the sea and that's my town
[Chorus]
When I don't know what to say
When I don't know what to do
There's a room I need to sit in
Surrounded by my favorite view
When I need a hand to hold
Someone to tell the truth
Would it be okay if I came home to you?
[Bridge]
No, I don't wanna keep on calling
When I'm miles away
And you're too far away
Oh, but if I need you to remind me
That nothing has changed
Would it be okay, would it be okay for you?
[Pre-Chorus]
And I see the world so different now
'Cause there's a place by the sea and that's my town
[Chorus]
When I don't know what to say
When I don't know what to do
There's a room I need to sit in
Surrounded by my favorite view
When I need a hand to hold
Someone to tell the truth
Would it be okay if I came home to you?

Always been a huge fan of Sigrid. Was emotional watching the BBC's closing montage of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic ceremony to your song "Home to you". Absolutely magical music.
Hi Bobby-is it really you???!! One of the great themes of literature is "how can I find a way to a safe home" ("Watership Down", Apollo13 (in reality and film)). After the pandemic we need songs and writing like this so much. Have a listed to "Homesick" by Dua Lipa and Chris Martin.

Finished watching movie....end credits roll. Wife yells from the next room "Is that Sigrid??" She know what's up.
Ah! I see you're an Andrew Schlutz fan
You are a saint for recognizing that. She's lucky to have you, specifically a man who knows good music when he hears it and commends his wife publicly. You are few and far between and let her know the she is beautiful for me, not to be weird lol. Sincerely a 21 yr old looking for that simple love. Hard to come by in these times. You guys seem comfortable, able to laugh together. I love that and I bless you both. (-a practicing and known intuitive who can just feel things and I need to voice them and praise my respect, because who else does,?). All my love for you both! Sorry for my intensity lol. YES WE GOT A SONGG YESSSSSS
Well. BBC closing montage to the Olympics has just sent me here.
This is literally the song that describes everything that happens to me this year.
I have had my exchange year in the Netherlands from 2019-2020. Everything was going well. I can speak Dutch and start to get used to the environment, the culture and everything there. Eventhough there are indeed a lot of hard times, but the wonderful moments that I also had there is priceless. But because of Covid-19, I have to travel back to my home country. I have four months left there. I have no choice but to travel back to where I'm from. And because I'm an Asian, I had a lot of hard time staying there during the time that covid-19 start spreading there. There are still a lot of things that I want to do or a lot of people who I want to spend the rest of the time with before we will never meet again. however, the situation happened so sudden that I even didn't have anytime to say goodbye to all the people who I met and spend time with. I have never thought that the moment when we met is the last moment I'll get to spend with them. It's very sad and it's not the way that I expected my exchange year will end like this. I literally listened to this song and cried during on the flight back.
But still, when I arrive at my home country, I also meet people who I love, my family, my friends, and a lot more. Life still goes on. What have happened is already amazing. I've got a lot of precious memories there.
I still keeping in touch with people that I met there. Hoping that one day, we will get to see each other again.
I'm happy that at least, I've got an opportunity to have this experience, an exchange year. I've got to meet and know all of these nice people, got to learn a new language, learn about other cultures, new aspects. I'm really appreciated this journey.
This song just basically reminds me that life goes on and there'll be people whom you love waiting for you. All those miles you have traveled, all of those experiences that taught you, makes you grow. All of those memories will be kept in your heart forever.
Thanks Sigrid. I really love this song. It shares a lot of memories in it. Thank you.

The girl I love recommended this to me. She's happy with her man now but sometimes I hope I can still come home to her. I love her so much.
Oh I know, I know this so well . . .
I've been listening to this a lot this year, it always made me think of my Grandmother and how she was always there for me no matter what I did in my life. I was there for her when she died yesterday and this song now takes on a whole new meaning. She'll be there for me as she always was with an open door and warm welcome for me in my memories. Thank you Sigrid for this lovely song that brings so much comfort to me at this time.

I can 100% see this being used in a Christmas advert this year about coming home to grandparents you havent been able to spend Christmas with for the last couple of years.
I remember when I saw the movie "The Aeronauts" I fell asleep (it was very, very late in the morning). When I slept the credits of the film with the song came out. I woke up from the beauty that my ears were delighting in my sleep and I didn't stop until I found this masterpiece to be able to listen to it over and over again.
Omgggg. That exactly happened to me as well. I watched it recently last night then I fell asleep. I woke up at the end part of the movie hahah then I heard this song
Does it make you travel the scenic places? The beach at dusk, the hilly areas with small pathways going somewhere, the woods surrounded with tallest trees, the boat ride or even a walk on road with trees on both the sides? Cuz it does make me feel that way. When a song makes you feel home, magic happens. 💗
everyone has this "place".Many aren't lucky enough to be able to get there when they need to but at least this beautiful tune from this lovely girl gives them hope

First time i heard this on last nights Stand up to cancer. How have I missed this for so long. Touched me more than any song has ever done.
This song hits different during this quarantine. The lines "I don't wanna keep on calling, when I'm miles away and you're too far away" really got to me because I haven't been able to see my boyfriend in over a month and it's killing me, especially since he lives alone so he doesn't have anyone there. I'd give anything to just hop in my car with him and go somewhere. Anywhere, doesn't have to be a beach. Just somewhere where I can be with him.
This made me shed a tear!😢❤
me to bro
I discovered this song when it first came out a few years ago but promptly forgot about it; I wasn't in a great place at the time, and I carried a lot of familial baggage. Since high school, I had a lot of different ideas to my family, and due to a mess of other issues, I felt trapped inside my own home. I desperately waited for the day I left for college, and things have gotten much better since then. Nowadays, I live in a seaside town across the ocean from them, and it's become as much a home to me as the place I grew up in. I'm more independent than I have ever been (which says a lot, given I practically raised myself after age ten), and though I am happier and more of an 'adult' than I have ever been, though I have more friends than ever, I still feel so horribly alone sometimes. I was never anyone's best friend, never had anyone I could tell anything to, no one who I couldn't imagine living without. It's not unbearable, but it's a loneliness I can't shake.
So, I'm going home to my family for the summer. I was worried that because of the bad terms we left on, I wouldn't be welcome, but it's been the exact opposite so far. Knowing that, I feel... a little less alone. It's not perfect, there's so many things I still can't tell them, and I will never be as close to them as many people are to their families, but I still love them enough to want to pay them a visit.
By some odd chance, for the first time in years, this song popped up on my feed today, and it's startling how familiar and accurate it feels now. I appreciate it much more than I did those few years ago. I want to thank Sigrid, too, for writing the first song in ages that has ever made me cry. It's a beautiful piece, and it's a shame that Sigrid hasn't received more popularity in the years I've been away. Hoping that can change in the future.
