Former Emperor ride op here, I can confirm that this occurrence is a small system mishap. The system sometimes turns off the drop chain (often when trains are going too fast towards it) and the following trains can't get on the pre-drop block until the drop chain is functional again. In other words, ride ops cannot turn off the drop chain for guests, even if they tried.
If you look at it, it honestly doesn't look that crazy, probably more just a whip feeling than ejector airtime, maybe if it had OTSR instead of vests it would be a better.
Im literally playing it now, most fun you can have, it's so funny that almost no one dares to take this ride and there's only a *5-MINUTE* wait now LMAO
No idea how this could be possible. On Griffon at BGW theres a bump in the middle of the track right after the lift that engages the 2nd chaindog that catches the chain that serves as the drop break. then a similar bump in the track stowes this same 2nd chaindog before the station so it can go up the lift normally. have you taken the behind the scenes tour at BGW?
I did this ride with no brake. It was super surprising and made the ride better at least for me. I asked the worker and they said it happens completely on chance and the system randomizes it. They even said that they tried to get no brakes when riding but it’s impossible to predict
@@sparkyUK I just read that from a ride op that used to operate this ride. The operator cannot disengage the holding brake even if they tried and the brake stops working when the train goes too fast.
fun fact: this is not supposed to happen at all the reason why this happens is because the train doesnt hook onto the chain this only happens a few times a day
@@Geom__dash777 It's not anything to be concerned about. It doesn't hurt the ride or make it any less safe. It's just a system error because the train was going a bit fast and it didn't hook onto the holding break. It doesn't do anything though. Its just something that happens occasionally.
I live in SD and have passes to seaworld this is deff not supposed to happen. There is a hold at the top thats a highlight of the ride it cliff hangs you holds then drops...thats deff strange and not normal
