@Dumbsourplum i mean, the same can be said for the Persona fighting games? And a lot of spin offs are very popular in the SMT community (Devil Survivor is a prime example). Of course, there are a few people who dislike Persona for its popularity, but most people enjoy Persona and got into SMT because of it. Just because it's a spin off, it doesnt make it bad. It just means it takes specific assets from the main series (particularly summoning and fusing demons) to create a different experience with them.

Persona as a whole is set around the SMT universe but the gameplay at its core is still a turn-based RPG, we can have games be set in similar universes but not be called spinoffs, because at its core, it’s a separate series and story to what the original told.
I mean, sure - if you're talking about the SMT mainline games - but since we are literally talking about the Persona series, it's fair game! TBF we didn't pull an ign and crack it at SMT because it wasn't Persona 5 😅😅😅😅
i mean 3 reload was LITERALLY made to match the standard set by persona 5, and a lot of things that persona 5 introduced to the series as a whole is present here
I know its going to be YEARS but when Persona 4 gets a remake i HOPE they change the beginning and get to actually playing faster. Persona 3 reload has been a GREAT remake!

The opening fixed one detail that always vexed me, and please don't call me weird for noticing. I believe it's in P3P specifically, for whatever reason, during the brief time that we see Yukari before you get to name the protagonist. For some reason, the screen cap shows her hiding in a building, psyching herself up to fight shadows, pretty normal right? For whatever reason, not only are her shoes off during The Dark Hour, which is already confusing, because survival is a little more important than values, and manners. But she doesn't even have socks on for some reason. You'd think someone prepared to fight for their life, would be a little more prepared to run for their life. I've always thought that was weird.
If you're talking about the intro, I AM 90% certain that she's ... in her room, trying to get the guts to use the evoker. Because unless you're talking about the intro with the music, everything from when the Protagonist gets off the train to when he reaches the dorm is happening at that moment. And we see later that Yukari is at the dorm with Mitsuru, and the only one doing Shadow duty at that time is Akihiko. So, Yukari was in her room working up the courage to use her evoker, and it's pretty traditional in Japan to not wear shoes inside, and if it was midnight (the dark hour) she was likely getting ready for bed when she remembered that she needs to spend the next year pretending to commit sudoku in order to achieve the proper mental stress to summon a persona. Hope that clears things up for you.
@@Nekufan1000000 that helps me with perspective a bit, but I think what mostly confused me about that, is in the FES version, (which I only got to play once) the MC walks by the window of the building that Yukari is in, and then keeps walking for a while. It made it unclear if those were the dorms, though in hindsight, he was probably just approaching the building from a different angle. But it felt weird that she would suddenly be in the dorm entrance at that exact moment. It's probably just a JRPG playing with your perspective of time. Also, @TheBetaNetwork I know how sus that sounds, but it's a very specific image that Atlus put in the game! And I'm the type of person, that if I step away from a game for 9 months, I feel compelled to start over. So I've seen the first twenty minutes of P3P too many times! At least in this version, it's more clear it's the dorms, and she at least has some freaking socks on. But if you have to be ready to at least run for your life, wear some shoes!! Either that, or be hiding under the covers when the Dark Hour happens, hiding is an alternative to running after all.
First time playing one of these games. I started here on reload. Liking it. Not my typical style of game but it’s engaging and makes me want to listen and read all dialogue
Nah, it's fine to enjoy eng dub in persona games bro. The casts are phenomenal, definitely less cringy than animes, and sometimes even sound better than JP

Plus for this game its because it is the first game with official translation on other languages, it helps my region to get in this series
The English cast did such an amazing job, even the original P3 cast came back to play different characters!
