    When is the good time for repotting or trimming in uk

    • @Plantalogy
      @Plantalogy  Год назад

      Early spring is the best time to repot Jasmine plants. Also, Jasmines are summer-growing plants and like to be trimmed during their growing period. So when the weather starts to warm up, you can repot and prune your Jasmine plant.🌱😊😊

    Your video is the first one I noticed when your Jasmine gets a bud but fails to produce a flower. I had the plant for 6 months after using fish fertilizer I noticed it produces only a bud not a flower. Is the fish fertilizer not adequate enough? Thank you.

      Hello. 🙂
      Fish water contains Nitrogen. If you want to make your plant bloom, use something phosphorus and potassium-rich supplement. Like bone meal, banana peel, seaweed, vermicompost, etc... 🙂🙂🙂

      Hello 🙂
      Until the next summer, all summer flowering plants such as Jasmine, Gardenia, Ixora, Alamanda, Chandni plant will undergo dormancy. So fertilize them next summer with a phosphorus-rich fertilizer. 😊
      And for addition, new plants need time for stabilizing in a new area. So better train them next summer.😊😊💮

    Thank you for the video. It would be nice to have a description of jasminium species that are common.
    The doubt I have whether the common species found in the subcontinent are of tropical or temperate origin. If temperate, then dormancy is to be expected. Mature tropical plants, my expectation is it will flower year round with variability.

    • @Plantalogy
      @Plantalogy  3 года назад +1

      Hello 🙂
      More than 200 species are included in Jasminum genius and most of them belong to temperate and tropical regions. The jasmine species I have belongs to the tropical climate. I found that during winter they slow down their growth and do not produce flowers. Actually, flowering depends on temperature. If the temperature of your area does not drop below 15°c during winter then your jasmine plant may produce flowers during winter. 🙂🙂🙂🌿🌿🌿🌿

      No Sir 😟 Also I never tried to grow them through seeds. But as far as I know, they take at least 14-25 days to germinate!!
      For better germination they need light, friable medium and warm environment constantly. You can cover them using plastic bag which will provide them constant environment (poke some holes on the plastic bag for air circulation) . And whenever you notice a sprout, you have to remove the cover.. If that works 😄🙂🙂

    Hello, Thank you for posting this tutorial.
    I'm wondering if you have information about diseases of this plant? I have a very vigorously growing plant which produces beautiful leaves with no discoloration or abnormalities, and yet fails to produce any flowers. The buds begin to grow, but start out oddly shaped, and never develop into a full flower. Occasionally I see the signed of stress, such as purple or brown coloration on the bits of the petals that try to develop. No fragrance comes from these flowers either. It seems to affect the entire plant, as no branches on the plant are successful at flowering.

    My poor jasmine is struggling to survive. One half of the plant seems fine but the other half the leaves are dried out and falling off. I checked the roots and they seem healthy so I dont know what's wrong with it. It came from the shop like this and I didnt have the heart to return it.

      So sad😥
      Keep the plant as it is for now. And avoid moving the plant. And only water when the plant needs (if leaves wilt). Give it some time. Hope it will overcome 😊😊😊🌺💗

      Yes, Jasminum sambac has an amazing fragrance. A simple suggestion for you, because you just bought the plant, the buds may not open or fall off, it's normal. Take care of the plant because it will bloom continuously till fall. 💐😊😊

    In another video here itself they say do not prune jasmine plant. In this video it says prune your plant regulatly. It is ireally confusing

    • @Plantalogy
      @Plantalogy  2 года назад +1

      It mentioned not to prune during the dormancy(winter) of the jasmine plant.. And prune when the plant is in its flowering season(summer) to encourage more branches. 🌻🌻🌻😊😊

    i love jasmine and it grows well in my house but the problem is that it attracts so many spider mites! it's a battle to control it

    • @Plantalogy
      @Plantalogy  3 года назад

      I actually wash my plants once every week. It really helps to control all types of external insects. But for an instant result, you can use neem oil or imidacloprid formulated any insecticide.😊😊😊🌼🌼🌼
