HELP!!! I need to order that lock online but was wondering about the handles. I’d really like to replace mine and lowes has the newer handles but are they compatible with this older lock? The sales person at lowes had no clue.
I just used the old handle on mine........but what i would do is order the new lock mech...then before I would install it take it to lowes and see if they would allow u to try the new handle inside the old locking mech first..Lowes keeps old and new parts to try on hand in the millwork section...(I use to work for them) goto the mill work section on a slow day and take the new mech with you and your the old hamdle too...as long as it measures the same and the inside fits it should be ok..OK.. they may have an original extra handle there for free if u ask the right mill work guy
You have to take a flat head screw driver and there are 4 catches that you have to push down one at a time and then it will come out..look at your new lock and see where they are located..you can see them in this vid mid way through it
There are 4 latches that prevent it from coming out..take a flat head screw driver and push each one down and pull it out..first the top one then push it until the bottom catches..push that one down then push out the next and so forth til it releases..watch vid midway thru it will show u..if you've ordered a new lock body u can see them on it..use the new lock as a guide if u can't get the old one out
Yes there is a set screw at the bottom of one of the handles I think the outside one...u need an Allen wrench and just undo the screw and one end will be able to pull off leaving the other to pull out
I bought new handles and a new mechanism. Now the 2 bots from the storm door wont come out, and the latch gets stuck where it won't turn in when you turn the handles. Can someone please help me?? I've got it all assembled but still don't work. Plz help me

What I did was use a butter knife and I was able to pry it open from the inside. These locks only last a year and a half, then they need replaced.

I think Pella should come to my house for free and put it together for me. This is crazy. I've been trying to fix it for 4 hrs now.
I put a screwdriver in the front and managed to pop it open. Have no idea how but grateful it opened
