- The Davidoff Sliding Ashtray ($180) doesn't really look like an ashtray and, as the name implies, it has a sliding feature. Charlie Minato gives 11 minutes worth of thoughts about an ashtray. Yes, an ashtray.

Looking at this, my immediate thought would be to rest the cigar on the long part, open the ashtray and let it hang over into the bin. Balancing it on the small part of the drawer seems less secure than resting it on the longer part.

I don’t know why you didn’t use it in a logical way. All you have to do is flip the cigar over so the part that burns is above the cavity and rest the rest of the cigar on the longer part

HENK The Bone Travel Humidor has a grove on the side where you can rest the cigar and you can use the lid or the bottom cap as an ashtray, so the entire design isn't unique but hey.
I received a Famous Cigar Shop for free. It shape like a round aluminum garbage can with a lid that did the job. $180 is not worth it.

I would categorise it as a portable travel ashtray, not everyone just dumps it on the ground even when you're outside.
I've a stainless steel travel ashtray, no brand, but It does the job.
Bought it for ~$20.
What is up with "premium" brands these days ? would not expect sloppy fit of the drawer part like that when buying a davidoff branded product. Same goes for so many other items. made in china dupont lightersfor example, even the newer ligne 2 are cheapend down. Nice design is great but when i buy premium stuff the build quality is what i am paying for in the first hand.

Obviously the cigar sits on the ‘long part’ of the ashtray while the other side is open and the ash can fall inside.
