Interesting honor duping method on WoW secrets channel - • 9.1.5 SL - Arathi Comp...
This video is about the current pvp brawl comp stomp, where you fight npc players in arathi basin, is currently awarding very fast renown. Get on this fast if you want to gear up alts as Blizzard removed the brawl last time they messed up like this.
I love Comp Stomp, especially this week with the double XP event. It's so quick and you get so much honour!

@@randall192-c5l Making gold with alts is a complex subject covering everything from just doing a bunch of callings (best way to make RAW gold) and raids, to doing complex stuff like crafting multiple sky golems. Basically the idea is that if Blizzard put anything in the game that's profitable but time-gated eg once a day, then an alt army gets round that.

Some people reporting a nerf to this...EDIT after extensive testing I experienced no nerf, and other players I spoke to in-game reported similar results to me. One guy actually managed to get from 44-54 in only 15 bg's - MUCH better than the results I got from 35+, SO there is almost certainly more going on with the catch-up mechanism than is obvious, it may be dependent on what campaign content you've done or some other factor.

Last week they nerfed exp from timewalking and now they nerf honor from PvP. You can't do that now Blizzard.

@@archvaldor there's definitely some major factor affecting the renown gains. I would think perhaps it has to do with campaign progression or, time spent on character with a "stagnant renown level". I'm also curious as to whether it's a percentage based chance, or there's a hidden bar of renown XP.
Your renown gains from pvp content caps at whatever max renown is MINUS how many chapters you have remaining in your covenant campaign/chains of domination campaign

Most fun ive had doing this BG ina while. Easy, Fast and gets the chores/catchup out of the way without being too long and tedious.
Naturally blizzard will see players having fun and nerf it asap.

ok, so apparently if you have the DMF Guide book in your bag, you can easily farm some gold/prize tickets as you can aoe loot the dead enemies you get PvP DMF quest items from them really easily. Those items are useable only once a month I think, I haven't tested that but you can sell them on AH for couple hundred gold a piece for sure, the last time I sold them they sold pretty quick every time.
Don’t forget to use your guild banners before the match ends for a slight boost in honor gained
Oh yeah that's a useful trick, most people don't think about that.

Campaign and korthia campaign progress can bottleneck your renown. It works up to 60 renown if 9/9
So I was today all day playing WoW... Turned the game off now and said yeah its time to go to bed... But 1st, lets check RUclips... And boom your video poped up... Don’t forget to place A guild banner down, that’s the difference between 480 to 580.
Stand nearby it, lasts 15 minutes with a 10 minute cool down. More than enough per match, but you’ll get the full affect at the start of the match so you’ll have to save it for every other one.

The feels intentional if it's been removed before. Blizzard have done events in the past designed for power leveling alts. They could have at least threw in 5 A.I. in really good pvp gear to scare players that get cocky. Like normal pvp lol.

Nice find. Had been reminiscing how much I missed meaningful feeling casual pvp rewards. Had been playing around with a loremaster twink past couple days after finishing 9.1 storyline, let the sub lapse, filled out the unsub form. But I do have 9 60s and each covenant so it might be worth for me to grind this. Renown still seems easy for alts doing their gold dailies , campaign, and weeklies, idk how many dupes of the new night fae mount I have. I find the night fae campaign can be grinded in a few hours each fresh 60, have done it more times than I care to admit.
How much conquest do you get per win? If it hasn't been ruined already

I recall from previous editions of this brawl that the achievement to re-cap flags 50 times (Defending the Basin?) is impossible to progress. Has this been fixed?
Don't think so, I ran a glitch past this which allowed me to re-cap a flag without the bots interfering and I must have re-capped 50 times in the same bg, no achievement. I'll check properly for you later though.

my renown is stuck at 49. ive done all the quests you can possibly do up to this point. the next chapter is at 50. ive done world boss, weekly quests. all daily. all callings. what do?
Isn't that when the weekly korthia quest pops up for a renown.

So what happens is after your renown stops going up, its time to do weekly/callings/worldboss. once thats done you must finish every single campaign up to the point where you're stuck. then simply que bgs/dungeons whatever ever LFR until you get the next in line. once you have the renown. quest again and repeat until 60. there it no more waiting. it just takes forever.
Even with this glitch I wouldn't want to level an alt. Grinding the story, anima, legendary, soul ash and renown all again is not appealing enough to pay a monthly sub. Great video as always though.
Yeah but doing this alone you would be competitive without any of that stuff. You aren't going to be breaking mythic parses or hitting 3000 in arena, but you can do most things outside that.
I have a holy pally alt and I literally just need the conquest for the trinket is this the fastest way to get conquest without doing any ranked? I would do ranked but all my friends have left the game
If you have no use for renown or honor I would recommend just doing the first random/epic/brawl of the day with the side quests from the brokers/wintergrasp etc. The only reason to do it this way would be if you absolutely must have the trinket today, but at only 3 conquest per bg it is going to be too slow even with the speed with which you win these.
Renown? I don't play wow anymore since BfA's last content patch, what is Renown used for?
Just a whole host of abilities and rewards...ilvl boosts, stamina increases...mounts and all that stuff.
@@archvaldor Oh I read on wowhead it's that Covenant system. It is funny to me how low they fall with that trash.
When I seen the Artifact Weapons first, I thought that AP grind is trash, especially the fact that when I got a alt to level cap the AP I gained for the same WQ compared to my first character was such a HUGE difference... that it didn't make any sense to play that new toon for 2 or 3 weeks... until the "Artifact Knowledge" cached up.
With Battle for Azeroth they learned what I knew after 5 minutes playing Legion, they made "Artifact Knowledge" be something global connected to the server of the game, which meant it made sense to raise a alt and then being able to get right into the action with it.
However... one reason I loved wow so far was because unlike some other MMOs where you never really reach "max level" in wow you did. But ever since Legion they add some "pulled from thin air" system that is aimed at "encouraging" you to go online every day... like a dam phone game. The Covenant system... is exactly that.
Anyway thanks for the video... just sad that I not play anymore, I had all the BG achievements in Europe, now I play in US and just didn't want to go through with them... thanks to Blizzard having to "reimagine the wheel" for each class every expansion. One Expansion the Mage is very fun to play... the next Mage is extremely unfun, or not viable in pvp anymore. And don't get me started at that "no flight" so you experience the world on your Ground Mount.
Blizzard invests way too much recourses into arbitrary stuff that is then not used anymore come the next Expansion.
got me a renown level every time up to 31, at 36 gives nothing anymore (tried 4 times)
you can combine this with thorghast renown. thorgast will give you a renown every time you complete a layer you have not done for the week. so you start at layer 1, 2 ...
i have not tested if you can do layer 1 for multiple renowns, if you just dont loot the endboss and let it get send to the mailbox
How do you actually enter this bit rbg?
4 comp stomp matches today and no Renown. I’m lvl 18.
It might be freakishly bad luck, or there might be some other criteria involved, but me and others seem to gaining renown fast at that level.
For me at least Renown isn't hard to level, but the Covenant campaing on the other hand is a must, and a slow questing experience to unlock all 3 soulbinds.
Fair point. I don't mind the campaign so much since you have different campaigns for each covenant, but I imagine doing a campaign for a third or fourth time would be agonizing.

Good time to point out there is some funny things going on with buffs in this BG. (unless its been fixxed)
Yesterday my feral druid friend was somehow inexplicably obtaining the shadow form buff. Not the current one, but the old one that granted physical damage reduction as well.
He was even able to maintain this buff going into Arenas, only removed upon death.
Wow. That makes no sense whatsoever. I can't even fathom any kind of theory how that could happen.

It was great in BFA for farming Honor to rank up Blood of the Enemy essence.
doesn't work (anymore?) here in eu, just played a game and did not get +1 renown (lvl 55+)
As I say in the video it slows down at around 35, to nothing +40. It is a good idea to do your campaign quests on alts from that point. I need to work on making these things clearer sorry for any confusion.
it's not working, been farm it with 3 of my alts yesterday, only honor no renow s at all, btw my 3 alts all at renow 6~15 ish.

Yeah its very low pressure. People are very unforgiving towards the undergeared in regular bg's - then they complain when que times go up....

Its blizzard fault really i cant blame people for nto wanting to waste 15 minutes in a BG constantly getting unlucky with undergeared players on their team

Why would this be considered a glitch or exploit? It basically gives the same rewards a bg would.
Because a random bg has que time, they can take 15 minutes, while epics can go on for hours and they all have a loss condition. The average length of this brawl is only about 3 minutes at most, ques are faster than normal bg's as the computer team doesn't need to que, and you ALWAYS win.
@@archvaldor yes but the whole point of this bg is being extremely easy lol. Else not even the reward for doing a brawl you would get.
This is pretty much intentional. They even gave us the 50% honor bonus for BGs. They know they messed up with the absurd level of grinding and are trying to cover it with more broken content.
If that is what they are doing, that is fine with me. I'd rather they just deleted their mistakes than pretended it was working all along.

took about 4 runs to get from 29 to 30. Then 1 run per again to 39. Done about 7 or 8 runs at 39 and not progressing to 40.

@@archvaldor Yeh. Basically get an army of alts located in an inn, then use WorthIt Addon and engineering teleports to go herbing until out of rested Xp. Easy herb gold and you get xp as a biproduct

There is, but I wouldn't recommend subbing for just one thing. You could probably work out most of it from watching my recent video on shadow rift.

What about a perma stealth until you move mechanic? Kinda like shadowmeld. I need it on a warlock, but warlocks can't be nelfs sadly
Edit: I tried the mogue statue toy that you showed in a video like 2 years ago and, while it works, it's only for 5 minutes. Which is sad because that stealth also covered the nameplate, which I need not to be visible aswell

they must have changed it. at renown 24 I did 6 of those. not a single lvl up
Started at renown 27, im now at renown 38 and still going strong.
Your title is deceiving, it's not a glitch or exploit if it has been designed this way.
If anything it just has not been tuned correctly as any geared player can farm dungeons in 5-10minutes and also get renown, this is quicker but if the mobs were tuned higher it would most likely end up to be a similar time spent.
It is titled glitch/exploit/loophole because it simply isn't that obvious what happened here. And no dungeons are simply not that easy to level, you are dependent on the group and have to actively manage your character in a way you just don't with the comp stomp.
@@archvaldor Yeah I am not disagreeing that comp stomp isn't easier in it's current state. If it was tuned appropriately doing comp stomp should/would be the same as spamming heroic dungeons.

The thing is, it enables pvp players to catch up on gear and renown. since pve plebs get everything up their ass just for doing scripted boring content that requires eighter half a braincell or just an addon to know what to do.
the renown is finally high enough that honor gear isnt absolutely worthless anymore, so it doesnt matter if u play vs bots to get stuff quick and ez or u get farmed by pve gear and wait for a q 15 mins :)

Done 20 matches from renown 6 to 26 with no story completed. Will report back after doing more on how fast it seems to go from there.
Reporting back. Another 20 completed and renown 40. It's a good idea to do story quests in between battles to utilise your time better as well

Exploiting stuff is always fun for me regardless of what is going on with the game...so yeah I'll probably be there when they switch the servers off. Not that I don't understand why some regular players quit.

After certain point you sart getting 1 each 2 wins. i ended up with renown 40 after finishing my set and upgrades.

Farming renown is not the problem... the problem is doing the campaign over and over and over again whenever you want to play an alt
not glitch not exploit , renown is pretty easy to catch up now . but this is the fastest way
I tried catch-up other ways and it was nothing like as efficient. If you know of a way to do it this fast then I suggest you make a video yourself, a lot of people would be interested.

Yes renown is easy to catch up, but the brawl is painfully easy. Sooo yeh be more passive aggressive , im very sorry that everyone copied your ass and every decent exploit/glitch is over paywall now .To bad you cant just go to ownedcore and copy the first topic like before to score ez 100k-200k views .

No but the bg is off rotation now. Won't be back for a few months.
I'm so annoyed at myself for not doing the BG more... only just mustered up the 'give a fuck' to play WoW again after having an amazing time playing all the Resident Evil games, FF14.... back to WoW, back to capturing all sorts of clips, burning 4 hours aday in video and photo editors immersed in the WoW instagram community instead of playing.... I ran the BG 3 times and went up 3 levels.... no doubt when the the BG comes back round it'll be fixed; although whether people will be bothered by then is another matter. It's put me off a bit knowing I'm investing so much time gaining renown that I could get about 8x faster if I wait for the rotation.... and just play other games till then lol.... alas there's plenty of other stuff to do fortunately; mounts to farm, old reps to catch up on, alts to level, so I'm being a bit negative but there's stuff to do realistically.

@@archvaldor I switched to FF14 and so far it's great :D Mostly having fun with all the little housing glitches. Definitely made me realise how little fun I ended up having in WoW compared to right now.
@@ArkhanneTV If you have a moment...a lot of people have asked me to do stuff with ff14....but the game designers seem to be good people and I imagine I would get a very different response exploiting that game. Is there any exploit culture there....how do you think ff14 exploit content would go? (I noticed you were very good at explaining things so I'm asking you specifically)
@@archvaldor Unfortunatey I'm not familiar enough with the game yet to know anything about exploits beside what you can find on youtube. The only thing I've been looking into so far is housing glitches, that are so widespread and used they're pretty much considered part of the game at this point.
As for if there is any exploit culture over there, if there is one it's not as widespread as WoW. Just doing a quick google search shows a significant difference: beside housing glitches, you won't find anything, at least not easily.
Unless the exploits you find directly affect player power or the economy, I don't think there would be any really strong opposition.
Ultimately I'd say, if you really want to see how it would go, the best way to do so is to give it a try :P
I swear to god, blizzard just doesn't know how to balance. The last time this was on rotation this was the best way to level, not only they took it out of rotation cause people were farming AP/Marks Of Honor it was also a great way to gear up since you could use those marks of honor to get recipes for crafted gear lol. Soooo we can farm fuckton of honor to get like what is it 210ilvl? very easy to gear up alts this week.
Yeah I agree the honor is fantastic flop it was already broken for that. I focused on the renown only because it is gonna be pver's who don't know about this whereas us pvp nuts are already know.
Yeah just did my 1st one, highest DPS by far, dealing 50% of their health to them in one The Hunt, it accounts for the weekly quest from the vault, farming honor like crazy....

it is an obvious intentional design, right down to the name basically saying you get to stomp the computer.
I've seen that phrase used since the 90's in video games, it just means humans vs computer.

you do the campaign as late as possible because those are guaranteed renown no matter how far caught up you are, while if you do the campaign first, you'll get to 37 faster and be unable to earn further renown catchup. doing this to 36, world boss 1 --> 39, world boss 2 --> 42, 3 callings --> 45, campaign --> 63 would be possible when that unlocks, i believe is next week? That right there is the best plan to catch up renown. ridiculously, unfairly fast.

Farming renown was never a trouble. We need easily way to catch up conduits on alters. Vendor or bind to account 😔
You get buckets of conduits doing the events round the maw, shouldn't be much of an issue.

I think the perception about FF14 being a time sink might come from the fact that progression/unlocks are more so tied to the “Main-Story Quest” (MSQ) than your actual character/class level. Think of the MSQ as a very long quest-chain the leads you all the way from level one to the end of the base-game, through every expansion and every content-patch. This is definitely different from WoW which has updated its starting zone experience many times and allows you to progress through content at your own choosing, eg. which zone, expansion, etc. One could compare this to the WoW's Chains of Domination Main-Campaign but from level 1 to max-level and beyond and with actually really, *really* good plot, character development and world-building! :)
I think Jessie Cox did a great video on this: "15 Years of WoW vs 1 Year of FFXIV". If you have 18-36 minutes to spare it is a great watch to understand the different design philosophies behind FF14 and WoW. The gist of it is that WoW is more of an MMO-RPG and FF14 more of an RPG-MMO, meaning FF14 is more like your traditional Role-Playing Game enhanced with Massively-Multiplayer-Online features, while in WoW the MMO mechanics are the core pillars and the Role-Playing Game comes after that.
This philosophy also feeds into the way you progress certain systems in FF14, it feels more like your traditional RPG when you “grind” for something. A great example I can personally attest to is the way you unlock and level up your Grand-Company rank in FF14. In WoW-Speak this would be something like a reputation-locked special items vendor for you main faction or maybe even comparable to the shadowland covenants.
When I first unlocked access to the Grand-Company system at level 20 I was reminded of the tedium that is/was to farm faction-reputation in WoW and was immediately discouraged to invest any time into this since I wanted to level and reach end-game content. To my pleasant surprise I’m now level 50, have reached the end of the base-game and simply by leveling and doing the occasional company-quest I’ve unlocked max-rank without much hassle…
In closing I’ve heard from many FF14 players the sentiment that “FF14 respects your time” and my current experience so far seems to confirm this.
IFF you want to give FF14 a try, the free trial has unlimited access (apart from some social features) up to level 60 (max level is 80 currently) with no time restriction. To my knowledge that includes the base-game ‘A Realm Reborn’ as well as the first expansion ‘Heavensward’.
But I will not lie, from what I’ve heard many people quit before reaching the first expansion because the MSQ is only slowly ramping up its plot, but many things/people/ideas that get introduces are important later in the game. (But after that, *oh boy* it ramps up! *Minor Spoiler* , stop reading here: I have had strong 'red wedding' flashbacks with FF14)

Just did 3-7 and got it every time. May be there is a small possibility of not getting it at this r level, or there might be some mechanic preventing you getting it.

I actually agree, but I suspect they have no idea what they did right. Hopefully I'm wrong and they develop more ways to bypass obsolete grindy content no one wants to do twice.

I think it is more likely they just don't have good AI. Every time I see reports of AI's with amazing abilities-in reality these abilities are massively overstated.

I think ion was truthful. ive seen very effective arena bots and i can see how it would be possible to code an enemy who does stuff like : interrupts at the very last fraction of a second or always stays at the exact required distance from you and so on
They should hire the guys and girls who programed the gold bots xD

Blizzard really don't like me (they tried to take this channel down using legal action) so I guess I'll hang around just to piss them off. Even before the recent allegations I didn't really think that much of them so not much has changed for me.

Yeah I think they have upped the damage to adjust for 9.1 ilevels but its still pretty easy. Maybe add one minute to the estimated time of a win.
