Good job “No Body No Crime” and “Exile” are good story telling songs.

The story behind this song is Taylor was in a failing relationship with Calvin Harris, when she met Tom Hiddleston at the Met Gala. Tom was "the getaway car" to help Taylor break off her current relationship with Calvin, and most likely knowing he was going to have a very short fling with her.

She dated Calvin for almost a year and a half. She needed a reason to leave and met Tom Hiddleston and Joe at the Met Gala. Tom is not shy so he and Taylor hit it off. They seemed really happy for a few months but then she realized he was a rebound. Sometime later she started dating Joe.

They (she and Tom Hiddleston) met at the Met Gala 2016. "Think about the place where you first MET me"

Answers to a few of your questions:
This song is produced by the absolute king of the synth world, Jack Antonoff. That man genuinely knows how to use a synth like no one else.
This song is the story of Taylor's exit from her failing long term relationship with Calvin Harris. The getaway car metaphor tells the story of how Tom hiddleston acted as her "getaway driver" from her relationship with Calvin Harris, yet Tom was still surprised when Taylor eventually took off in a "getaway car" from him too. "Don't pretend it's such a mystery, think about the place where you first met me". Using the word met is also considered by some to be deliberate as Tom and Taylor met at the MET gala.
This song has a much newer related song on the tortured poets department called 'the bolter'. She recently mashed up the two songs at a show (that I attended!!!). Both songs explore the theme of being a chronic runner from relationships, with the bolter saying things like "it always ends up with a town car speeding out the drive one evening". While it doesn't seem to be a habit of Taylors anymore to run from relationships, the bolter is reflective of her previous tendency to do this, especially around the time getaway car was written.

Yeah... I love that she wrote the baby sister to Getaway Car 6 years after in The Bolter 🥰

The producers on this is taylor herself and our boy jack antonoff. She has done a lot of songs with him ever since the 1989 album. He has an amazing ear for the 80s string type music.
    I recommend:
-My boy only breaks his favourite toys from the new album.
-The story of us (taylors version) from the speak now album
-i know places (taylors version) from the 1989 album
Also for something different and more slow i recommend This is me trying (the long pond studio sessions). There is a clip with the interview and taylor describing the song with jack

Now after the new album I keep thinking of this song when I hear “the bolter” and the line where Taylor says “mr steal your girl, then make her cry” in the song “loml”

I believe Jack Antonoff (from the band Bleachers) worked on this one with Taylor, he has worked with the production in a lot of Taylor's music including TTPD. Great reaction, Reputation's Get Away Car is one of the holy grail songs, like All Too Well is to the album Red.

"I want to know the story "...well, she gives us it in the song "Exile"..."escaping out the side door"...listen to that with this in mind.

Oooh recently Swiftied old millennial here - I hear influences of Pat Benetar and The Go-Gos (the song You Thought in particular).
Taylor is such a good musician and clever lyricist. I’m really enjoying this journey that you’re also on.
