The last thing I'd ever want to do is give petty criticisms about how you do these videos, the incredible work, time, effort, and personal sanity you all put into this is extraordinary, and the insight you provide is absolutely invaluable. Those few comments who have grumbled previously over not getting spoon-fed perfect translations simply for their own entertainment aren't worth the trouble, honestly. Those people certainly can afford to make such a little effort in the safe, cushy, comfort of their homes for the greater cause.. sheesh.. It's also entirely reasonable to use whatever translation tool you have to free up your very precious time to focus on what is the most important, which is the interviews, insights, exchanges, and Ukraine's total victory asap. That said, I agree that the auto voice-overs are distracting and less pleasant, but that's not the main problem with them. They also eliminate some of the most important communication information by removing the actual speakers voices, tone, expression, etc., that is key to understanding true meaning. It also prevents other bilingual Russian/English speakers from being able to explain different nuances in the comments when they hear them which translators can't do. Literal translations very often mean something very different than the intended meanings, and without the real voice tones, attitudes, and inflections it all gets lost. Lastly, that auto voice makes it sound scripted. We all know it isn't scripted, but anyone looking for an excuse to dismiss your work is certainly going to make an issue of it. I believe you have misunderstood most of the comments although they seem to be pretty straightforward. Some of us (quite a lot judging from the comments) prefer to hear the speaker's voice and read the subtitles. It makes it more real. It is not a petty complaint; actually, it's quite valid. It is very stupid to consider the viewers' comments as an excuse to dismiss Mr. Zolkin's and Dima's work. We all know (and comment about) the valuable work they both are doing because they are documenting this war. So calm down and leave your lessons for someone else. By the way - it's Slava Ukraini, not Ukraine. Your translation is wrong. In English it's Glory to Ukraine. Better use that.

That was a very powerful interview. I give you major credit for treating this man like the victim he and is comrades are. Putin's Russia has no respect for any life. Ukrainian or their own. They cannot win this war but the human toll will be incalculable. This young family is forever changed even if he manages to survive. What a loss. So many families in Ukraine destroyed. He is a man from the Luhansk region who see it for what it is. The deliberate extermination of the male population in the Donbass by Russia. They were drageed off busses, from classrooms, stores and sent to war with Mosin Nagants and Maxins. The Russians had block battalions ready to kill them if they didnt obey. Every photo we saw of the early invasion where people on the internet mocked Russia for their ancient equipment was all pictures of the so called "DPR" and "LPR" and very few people noticed what was going on.

Zolkin, I have to say as someone who watched these in their native language on your Ukrainan channel; I really appreciate the translated audio as it makes for easy listening. Might I suggest looking into something similar to Skryim's xVASynth. from what I can tell, that could allow for some fairly good audio.

No no I love the new "dubbed" version. With only subtitles the bad grammar, misspelling and rapid screen changes slows understanding. I actually really like the translation I can go at 1.5x speed. It works fantastically ! Please, try it before knocking it people! Use computer voices as lectors (voice-over translation), please. It works perfectly in so many countries... If you use women voice as a lector there is almost no interference with male original sound (it matters only for people unaccustomed to lectors, but male lectors generally have ultra low pitch voice exactly for the same reson - not to interfere with voices of actors).

The last thing I'd ever want to do is give petty criticisms about how you do these videos, the incredible work, time, effort, and personal sanity you all put into this is extraordinary, and the insight you provide is absolutely invaluable. Those few comments who have grumbled previously over not getting spoon-fed perfect translations simply for their own entertainment aren't worth the trouble, honestly. Those people certainly can afford to make such a little effort in the safe, cushy, comfort of their homes for the greater cause.. sheesh..
It's also entirely reasonable to use whatever translation tool you have to free up your very precious time to focus on what is the most important, which is the interviews, insights, exchanges, and Ukraine's total victory asap.
That said, I agree that the auto voice-overs are distracting and less pleasant, but that's not the main problem with them. They also eliminate some of the most important communication information by removing the actual speakers voices, tone, expression, etc., that is key to understanding true meaning.
It also prevents other bilingual Russian/English speakers from being able to explain different nuances in the comments when they hear them which translators can't do. Literal translations very often mean something very different than the intended meanings, and without the real voice tones, attitudes, and inflections it all gets lost.
Lastly, that auto voice makes it sound scripted. We all know it isn't scripted, but anyone looking for an excuse to dismiss your work is certainly going to make an issue of it.

Another excellent and interesting interview. Much better than with many of the orcs, who as you say avoid and play with their answers. That was a very powerful interview. I give you major credit for treating this man like the victim he and is comrades are. Putin's Russia has no respect for any life. Ukrainian or their own. They cannot win this war but the human toll will be incalculable. This young family is forever changed even if he manages to survive. What a loss. So many families in Ukraine destroyed. Every photo we saw of the early invasion where people on the internet mocked Russia for their ancient equipment was all pictures of the so called "DPR" and "LPR" and very few people noticed what was going on.

Zolkin, I have to say as someone who watched these in their native language on your Ukrainan channel; I really appreciate the translated audio as it makes for easy listening. Might I suggest looking into something similar to Skryim's xVASynth. from what I can tell, that could allow for some fairly good audio.

No no I love the new "dubbed" version. With only subtitles the bad grammar, misspelling and rapid screen changes slows understanding. Plus it's difficult to judge body-english and facial expression when your eyes are focused down and away. Then of course there are some folks who are simply slow readers. I'm glad I came back and discovered this improvement.

If we are voting on style of translation I prefer to hear their native language and read in English. No doubt I could walk around and do something clean cook create some art because I could understand what I was hearing but nevertheless I enjoy listening to others languages more.
Often not understanding but hearing original voice that is able to get emotions accross gives me more information than hearing the robot voice.

Ukraine fights better, even though the population of Russia is three times a big as Ukraini, Ukraini will win. They way that a soldier fighting to protect his country is worth three attackers. Use computer voices as lectors (voice-over translation), please. It works perfectly in so many countries...
If you use women voice as a lector there is almost no interference with male original sound (it matters only for people unaccustomed to lectors, but male lectors generally have ultra low pitch voice exactly for the same reson - not to interfere with voices of actors).
I do appreciate the work of this journalist and i do understand the anger and hatred he must have inside. I would love to see him ask questions in a bit more professional way and avoid all unnecessary sarcastic questions. Asking the wife when are they going to win the war is a bit too much.
