  • For this episode of Wentworth Woodhouse: Off Limits, we're back in the area from our first short to provide an extended look at the part of the House that used to provide bedroom accommodation for the servants who lived at Wentworth Woodhouse.
This is just one of the many areas of the site that, for now at least, has to remain 'off limits' to visitors, simply because of how unsafe it is.
Our vision is to regenerate the entire site so that it can be used and enjoyed by everyone and one day, these rooms may once again provide overnight accommodation.
We're always saying that we have a House with over 300 rooms, but there's nowhere to put anything. Our 'Off Limits' videos will show you exactly why that's the case and why every penny that we raise for this iconic site is so important.
We'll have more extended looks at other areas in the house we've shown in our shorts previously, as well as some new 'Off Limits' areas coming soon too.
If you would like to watch our main video explaining why these areas are off limits and why your donations and raising funds are so vital to us, look for 'Wentworth Woodhouse Off Limits: breathtaking exteriors mask a brutal reality' or follow this link: • Wentworth Woodhouse Of...

Is there any record of the original function of these rooms or their use prior to the changes made for the Lady M college? Seems that part of the video shows an upper part of the kitchen ? Is that right? Many thanks

This part of the house was the servants wing. The kitchen, laundry, sleeping quarters. I believe there was also a barbershop, sick room and a room for making candles.

Was Wentworth the same home the Uk government requisitioned for coal mining destroying the front lawn and damaging the houses before returning it to the family. ??

If you would like to find more on the topic of coal mining, we currently have an exhibition on in the house and will have some videos coming soon with Jo too! We also have a video on the channel about how coal mining affected the House and gardens called 'The great garden rescue' which you can watch here: ruclips.net/video/XesP0whaUY8/видео.html
