What a difference from my high tech modern flat, to your quaint Victorian home that has been carefully and tastefully decorated in tranquility and harmony. Well done it's beautiful!
I enjoy you both so much. I love the house and do feel you made a wise choice. I agree carpeting is not appreciated. It breeds germs and never looked good for long.
Your home is absolutely delightful! All those stairs will certainly keep you in shape! You weren’t joking when you said your house was long... and yet so cozy. So many wonderful spaces to enjoy! I must confess that I LOVE that your dining room is a mess right now. I adore that you and Joerg are so relatable. Thank you so much for sharing more of your wonderful home with us!

Dear Kirsten and Joerg, Just viewed this video which you made three years ago. Many thanks for your generosity in letting viewers into your home. It was also interesting to compare it with the current changes you have made. Just lovely.
It's a little over a year since you posted this video, and I just had to say how lovely your home is. To me it's just perfect.😊 Thank you for the tour. You are both so kind.😊
Your house is so lovely, I love houses that have character rather than the modern style which can be so ordinary and you have decorated it beautifully. Thank you for this house tour it was very interesting, looking forward to the continued journey of your cosy abode.
I first saw you two when you posted your 'Fairytale Cottage in Devon'. Just made me smile. You two are so cute and sweet. So glad I found you again and have spent time catching up with you. Your home is beautiful and your hallway wallpaper is so so lovely. You are a pleasure to 'visit' and so up-lifting! I've now subscribed so I don't lose you again. You are a breath of fresh air!

That utility room is really nice and hiding the dishwasher away from your kitchen makes that area charming like in Victorian times. What a dream house! love it. Thanks for sharing. God bless you two.
What a lovely couple you are. You both so relaxed and charming and a huge pleasure to be in the company of. I love your positivity and journey reassurance about whatever it is you both choose to do. Very refreshing very relaxing and it makes me happy and full of ideas. Thank you sweet people xxx
How wonderful, nice of you to share... I would never ask to see the rest of your home because that's your personal space. You feeling comfortable to share..well thats good too. BEAUTIFUL home and they are always a lot of work to get it just the way you want it. Looks like your making good progress!. Nice to see you both ..much love Michelle ❤
Thanks so much Michelle! Yeah we only share what we feel comfortable with, definitely won't be sharing the outside of our house due to privacy and security.
You have such a lovely home. It was very special that you would open it up to your viewers. The house has character and the two of you have done a wonderful job in highlighting it. Thanks so much!

Love your house and can't wait to see future changes! So interesting how your dishwasher is in the utility room. Here in US it's always in the kitchen, and washer and dryer is usually in a utility room or utility closet or a basement. Cheers!
Thanks so much Julie! Yes, the dishwasher is always in the kitchen in Germany too but now we think it's actually a good idea since it leaves us more cupboard space in the kitchen. We had a utility room in our house in Germany as well and always loved it.

I'm actually new to your channel and spent about a whole day watching your videos ,the calmness is unbelievable it is such a therapy watching your videos .... please make more and more videos Greetings from Egypt ❤️
The Victorian period is a tribute in its self to the architecture and everything that it represents in that era,and that it wasn't all dark and poor, infact the Victorian period was elegant, and way better in a lot of things compared to today!BEAUTIFUL, THANKYOU.🎩👗💙💚💛💜💗.🌈.
You are so right.. I watched my first video of the Peppercorn cottage and now am on my quest to see ALL. Kirsten's voice drew me in and her sweet face...I was hooked!

From Georgina(on hubby's iPad) You made me giggle when you spoke so quietly about the blind in the utility room as though you would offend it by saying it was ugly!)You are both so joyful to watch, thank you for sharing your beautiful home.
Thanks so much Georgina! Hahah I know, I just didn't want to sound ungrateful, the blind is absolutely fine for now so it's more than okay. (LOVE your name).
Dear Kirsten & Joerg, I don't recall exactly when I first viewed your videos, but I distinctly remember being so drawn-in that I immediately "Subscribed"🔔! I live in the U.S. (New Jersey) and I don't get to travel abroad anywhere near as much as I would like to, so I absolutely love vicariously getting around with the two of you! Your tastes (for books, foods, gifts, home decor, daytrips, etc.) are so similar to my own that it often feels as if I've run into 'long-lost but very cherished' friends! This is my first time ever "Posting" a Comment, so it took some time for me to figure out how it's done, but I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to directly "Thank You" both, for making the time and the effort to share "life" as candidly, warmly & beautifully as you do! For the blessings that you are, may God continually Bless you!🌺
Here is the Midwest USA, we call those windows in the ceiling "skylight" windows. One of the problems with skylights are that sometimes the seal gets old and they leak when it rains hard. If you have a tiny room next to a bedroom, they could be called a "dressing room" or "walk-in closet." All your clothing gets stored in the walk-in room in cupboards or hang from closet rods. My aunt lived in an older home that had a dressing room leading off her master bedroom and the on-suite opened into the dressing room. There was a separate on-suite for their boys next to their on-suite, but they were not connected (except for the plumbing inside the walls.) Do you have a cellar or what we call a basement under your ground floor for storage?
So much character. I think it`s far nicer to live in a property for a while and work your way through each room as your feel for the place and understanding of your needs develop, too many rush and do everything immediately and then end up making costly mistakes and regretting choices. Thanks for the tour XX
@@KirstenJoerg Yes, I was going to comment on the beautiful, serene wallpaper - so challenging to find sweet wallpaper like this... I'm sure you've said in another video who makes it, but would you mind saying it again? I am new to your channel and enjoying it so very much here in California!
Thank you for the nice visit... Yes, your home have a cozy and delicate atmosphere which is a reflexion of your personalities... It is beautiful. We have been in our home for 17 years and still have a lot to do..... And as time flows, we also make changes to what we made in the past. Homes are as alive as we are I feel... Constant story being told and recorded in the walls... Stay safe and hugs from the woods...
I love your home. Cozy and perfect for the two of you. The tiny bedroom is “the box room.” I always wondered if that was the baby nursery in days gone by.
Thanks so much! Yes, box room, We don't have that in Germany and were actually shocked that some of those box rooms are even smaller in the new houses here :)
carol King It’s been only 50 years for me! My first hubby was from Manchester. My sleeping place when I stayed at his parents council house was in the “box room”.
They were called box rooms because they were situated above a stairway which protruded into the room a little bit and so then had to be 'boxed in" ..a single bed would fit the space. But that is an extremely small "box' room.
I am renovating my 1800s victorian cottage in Connecticut. Your videos are fortification for my soul . It has been grey for two weeks and my motivation for indoor tasks has waned . I am drawing inspiration from your patience with the process of creating your domicile. It is getting me to press forward with the heat gun and stripper and get back on task with my vision in spite of budget constraints. ❤
Lovely place, beautiful and homely. You've actually inspired me to rouse myself from the recent slump I've been in, and do a bit sprucing up in my own house. I've only ever lived in Victorian terraced properties, either houses or flats, and I wouldn't live in anything else but they are always a work in progress! Enjoy the journey to getting it exactly how you want.
Thanks so much! Yes, once we stared looking for a house in the UK, we came to the conclusion that the new houses here weren't for us and that a Victorian terrace would be the perfect choice.
You’ve a lovely home which reflects your lovely selves. Thank for for the tour. I wish I had a way to send you a tour of our old farm house in the country side of rural Iowa. Better yet, come visit us and be inspired by the tranquility surrounding us! Blessings, Mary
Loved the house tour, so generous of you both to share , yes Kirsten I think Joerg should give Himself a big pat on the back , not just for his hard work decorating , also because he is So tender with you ..thank you for sharing , and explaining your future plans , sounds wonderful As always , such a little retreat home for you . Mary Canada.
Your elegant yet welcoming home is so like you dressed to the tee yet friendly and warm. We here in the states love house tours especially homes of character. When I lived in Maryland I always looked forward to Spring when the Plantation Homes in Virginia allowed tours. Especially the larger ones along the Potomac. Thank you for opening your lovely home to us and making us feel most welcome. Every video is a treat ❤
Thanks so much! Oh yes, we simply love character house tours as well, can never get enough. With all the manor house in the UK, there's always something to visit.
What a beautiful home! When you view a house you instantly know when it is the right one for you. I had the same with my house. You make an amazing team.
Most of the novels I read take place in the UK and very often the characters in the novels live in a terrace house thus making me curious to see the interior of such houses. My wish came true as I followed you on the wonderful tour of your amazing terrace house. It's like a little piece of Paradise as far as I'm concerned. I love your taste in decorating. I'm so happy to have found your channel and I look at it every day because I have a lot of catching up to do. Your walks inspire me to go for nature walks and I have started to do that just around the neighborhood thus discovering my surroundings. I love when you and your husband cook and bake. I find it so relaxing. I am a very anxious person and I find that I am so much more relaxed since I have started watching your channel. Take care. Sending much love to you and your husband.
Absolutely LOVE your beautiful house, the ambience, the colours you have chosen, the way you have decorated & modernised for comfortable living whilst maintaining it's Victorian authenticity. I live in Sydney - many areas here (ie Paddington) have Victorian terraces & yours would be a fine example of how to renovate many of them. Congratulations.
Thanks so much! Yes, so true, Joerg lived in Sydney for a while as a small boy. We were quite lucky to find it like this, it has been modernised before we bought it so we can put our finishing touches to it.
The hallway wallpaper is divine. Kitchen colors are so beautiful. I really like your bathrooms. I don’t see anything wrong with them. You have a lovely home. I’m so happy for you. Much Love
Originally when those kind of houses were built, all the children would have slept in o ne room and the very tiny ‘bedroom’ was known as a box room and used mainly for storage. It was only a few decades ago that people started referring to them as bedrooms estate agents could then sell what was really a two bedroomed house as a ‘three’ bedroomed house.
I think your home is so adorable, compliments you two:) I love victorian structures, they have so much character. I really enjoy and appreciate when you both bring us into your personal sphere (but realize that privacy still has to be a factor when online) which helps us get to know you all the better. A great video, thank you for posting it!
Thank you so much for inviting us into your home! It’s truly special, designed and decorated with love and sensitivity to the home’s origins. I look forward to every video and have watched from the beginning several times over. You are a lovely couple and I very much enjoy this glimpse into your lives! Take care!
Hi You two... Well this was a lovely tour of your beautiful home it is coming along nicely .👍Victorian houses are so full of charm and chariture ... I love everything you have done so far... And will look forward to seeing more as you progress... I could listen to you all day... Stay Safe ❤️🤗💐
The tiny bedroom would have been called a boxroom with just room for a narrow bed some times it was a dressing room, I have seen smaller especially in the modern houses. Your house is looking lovely, I especially like the way the pattern reflects through the hall lights on to the ceiling just the right shade casting a pretty pattern thanks for showing us.
It’s just a pure pleasure spending time with you. Your house reflects your lovely energy. Looking forward to seeing the next stage of the renovation. Lots of love 💐💐
Thank you for showing us around your lovely house, Kirsten and Jeorg, and for continuing to teach us about some of the differences between life in Germany and the UK.
Your house is beautiful. It is wonderful you live in a Victorian from the 1800s. Again, thank you for sharing your lives and home. It is nice that you kept the decorating to match the character of the house. Til next time. Love you both.
Absolutely lovely... You both have such wonderful taste and style from your apparel to the way you design your home.. Just beautiful all of it.. Thankyou so much for sharing it with us.. Have a great afternoon!!!!! 😊
Hello Kirsten and Joerg, I discovered your videos yesterday and I was instantly aware of how special the two of you are! You both have such adorable and endearing personalities that I just don't want your videos to end! I am enjoying them all. Your home is wonderful and so are you! There are a lot of similarities in my family from loving everything William Morris and Laura Ashley to pottery/porcelain interests, all things English, choosing wine by the labels and more!! :o) I have German and English heritage and would not be surprised if you are a relative! I'm just a few years older than Joerg and live in the U.S. Best wishes for happy and healthy days ahead and thank you for sharing your life with us! :o)
Kirsten, you and your husband are such a Lovely People that no matter what you show or do, it is always going to be nice and pleasant to watch... (Even if you had shown the room that is a work in progess ;) , coming from you it would had also been nice. Lol :))) Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, full of marvellous details. It represents you well....... Warm, classy but relaxed... it has the same charm & magical energy that you have. Last but no least, I also wanted to thank you because thru your videos my spirit takes off.... You guys have the power to vanish any sadness or worries and somehow without even saying it you make your audience feel calm, and with a sense of reassurance that "All will be Fine" :) So I send you a BIG " GRACIAS " all the way from Chile! ;)
So nice to make a visit to your channelagain this afternoon.. you both bring a softness to my day... Jorge's humour reminds me of my husband and just like the romantic that he was as well! He died 15 years ago after 38 wonderful years. You home is lovely... I purchased a little condo 3 years ago and have enjoyed decorating it in tones of soft linen and bleached whites and desert browns ... You entrance hall is lovely as is the rest of your home. Thank you for sharing yourselves with us.
so very generous of you both to share your home video with us all, really beautiful taste and I find your home reflects it's peaceful spaces so nicely , Thank you Kirsten an Joerg
.I am new to your videos, and I find them absolutely delightful I love it all and love it when you go to the outlets. Love to see your guest room though.
I love the colors in your home. I wish I could do that but unfortunately I live in an apt. And we are not allowed to decorate. So I include my colors by using accessories. But I really do love the thin, long style of your house too.😘🎅🎅🎅🤶🤶🤶
Thank you for sharing your beautiful discoveries around England, the UK and even Germany. I enjoy old british houses so much and unfortunately haven't been able to travel any more for several years now, so I travel in your wake and like it very much. I also enjoy your smooth and very respectful speech and attitude. Watching your videos is almost like a meditation for me. I'll watch you at night, before bed time and I can dream on in my sleep. Thank you Kirsten and Jörg
Thank you for sharing guys. It was a lovely home tour, you have created such a welcoming and beautiful home. And it's nice to know that I am not alone with other rooms to finally finish too:) But it all part of the lovely process... best wishes to you both, have a fabulous bank holiday. I will look forward to your next video xx
Thanks so much! Oh yes, I think it's nice to take your time and do it properly instead of rushing into things and end up with something you don't love. Have a lovely weekend too!x
I just watched the video on your renovation progress. Enjoyed it very much! When you buy a home that needs work, you are able to transform it into something personal with your personality showing. It becomes your own. All the little details shine through. Older homes have character. When I was married, people would come into my home and feel very comfortable straight away. They said it was a place where they felt they could just take their shoes off and feel at home. I really like your "style". The Laura Ashley, paint colours, and toile fabric. I really like home improvement. Thank you...
Thank you for your little house tour! I know how you feel that the house has a lovely vibe, very cozy and welcoming with a nice quiet atmosphere. I had that feeling too when we first saw the house we are in today, twenty years ago. Although I am in the London area, out the back are allotments and it’s very nice and quiet and not much road noise. Our house is also Victorian built in 1863. It is a terraced cottage style, and in the past would probably have been lived in buy mill workers for the windmill which is still there and has been recently restored to working order. Apparently in the 1950’s my house used to be a local shop, when I moved in the front door led straight to the outside but we built a wall to make a hallway. The stairway runs up the centre of the house between the two downstairs rooms and in the understairs cupboard you can still see where there used to be a door leading from the shopfront space to the living space at the back. There wasn’t much in the way of character features left when we came, no fireplaces or ceiling roses, mouldings and the like. I have decorated in no particular style the way you have, but it’s generally quite light, a lot of white with accents of some of my favourite colours. 😊
Your home is beautiful! My husband and I live in an old German farmhouse, and believe me it’s a work in progress! There’s so much needing done and to be quite honest we haven’t changed very much as I call it a quirky house. You can open a doorway and inside you’ll find three more doors, however we’re hoping to sell our home this year and in Germany people who buy are really only interested in heating, windows and a safe and watertight roof. When homes are sold in the UK, they are presented to buyers, it’s not like that here, considering most people take their kitchens with them and all you see are four bare walls. Anyway, I just love watching your videos, enjoy your beautiful home, from the Wee Scot in Germany 😊
It’s nice to have a utility room and a cloak room ,housing the loo. You both embrace the character of the house thats is Victorian. It’s delightful to see your finishing touches to your house. I love your uniqueness from both of you. My daughter lives in a Victorian cottage..but she has a big garden;she loves it. Have you any open fires or log burner Kirsten ? Joerg has good taste in paint colour..I like it too. Small bedrooms are called the box room.

Greetings from Egypt ❤️
Oh thank you so much! It’s so lovely to hear that you are from Egypt where I lived in my teens.
really? Iam so glad to hear that ,
where did you use to live in Egypt then
The Victorian period is a tribute in its self to the architecture and everything that it represents in that era,and that it wasn't all dark and poor, infact the Victorian period was elegant, and way better in a lot of things compared to today!BEAUTIFUL, THANKYOU.🎩👗💙💚💛💜💗.🌈.
Oh absolutely, we also adore the Arts & Crafts Movement, particularly William Morris is simply amazing. Thank you.
@@KirstenJoerg THANKYOU, I shall have a look.🎭,we re also missing the theatre!
Kirsten, you have the most delightful, soft voice. I actually found myself floating on your voice and missing part of the tour.

Shhhow Quiet 😳
Dear Kirsten & Joerg,
I don't recall exactly when I first viewed your videos, but I distinctly remember being so drawn-in that I immediately "Subscribed"🔔!
For the blessings that you are, may God continually Bless you!🌺
That's so so kind Miriam, thank you so much for taking the time to comment. Have a lovely weekend.
@@KirstenJoerg Thank you, lovely lady...wishing the same for you & Joerg! "See" you soon!
I think Görg is underestimating himself. He is doing much work and beautiful work in the house!
So much character. I think it`s far nicer to live in a property for a while and work your way through each room as your feel for the place and understanding of your needs develop, too many rush and do everything immediately and then end up making costly mistakes and regretting choices. Thanks for the tour XX
Thanks so much! Yes, that's how we feel too, we simply don't want to rush into things and then regret our choices.
You have a cosy and beautiful home. Thanks for sharing.
That wallpaper is lovely. Delicate. Beautiful!
Thank you!
@@KirstenJoerg Yes, I was going to comment on the beautiful, serene wallpaper - so challenging to find sweet wallpaper like this... I'm sure you've said in another video who makes it, but would you mind saying it again? I am new to your channel and enjoying it so very much here in California!
@@LaurenMirandaG Which one do you mean, the one in the hallway? It's a William Morris wallpaper.
Thanks so much and yes we agree.
I just know that the tiny room would be mine. I love it.😘😘
They were called box rooms because they were situated above a stairway which protruded into the room a little bit and so then had to be 'boxed in" ..a single bed would fit the space.
I like the way of delivering speech. Slow and clear English talk.
You’ve a lovely home which reflects your lovely selves. Thank for for the tour. I wish I had a way to send you a tour of our old farm house in the country side of rural Iowa. Better yet, come visit us and be inspired by the tranquility surrounding us! Blessings, Mary
Thanks so much! Oh your old farmhouse sounds like a dream, bet it's so gorgeous.
Loved the house tour, so generous of you both to share , yes Kirsten I think Joerg should give
Himself a big pat on the back , not just for his hard work decorating , also because he is
So tender with you ..thank you for sharing , and explaining your future plans , sounds wonderful
As always , such a little retreat home for you . Mary Canada.
the upper hallway.. is called the landing
Yes!
Ahahah! The landing should be downstairs because its where you land from.above!😀
Thanks so much! Oh yes, I think that's how it should be, one has to go with one's gut.
Thank you so much Lucille!
Thank you both for inviting us into your lovely home.
Thanks so much!
I just love the wallpaper in the hall. The mirror is delightful.
What’s the wall paper called please ..... is it a William Morris one ☝️
The hallway wallpaper is divine. Kitchen colors are so beautiful. I really like your bathrooms. I don’t see anything wrong with them. You have a lovely home. I’m so happy for you. Much Love
Stunning. Your attention to every detail as you work through this magnificent home is brilliant. Absolutely loved this video!
Thanks so much!
The husband reminds me of my Dad,...quiet and reserved in talking...they both sound similar.
The hallway light you chose is wonderful. I love the pattern of light it creates on the ceiling. Your home is lovely!
Beautiful home. Love your choice for decor especially that William Morris paper in the hallway. Victorian terraces are so welcoming .
Absolutely!
I think your home is so adorable, compliments you two:) I love victorian structures, they have so much character. I really enjoy and appreciate when you both bring us into your personal sphere (but realize that privacy still has to be a factor when online) which helps us get to know you all the better. A great video, thank you for posting it!
It's lovely and true to your style. I love your videos..so genuine and honest without pretentiousness.
Thank you so much Joanne, that means a lot!
Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.
You have a lovely home and I can tell that you are both enjoying fixing up your little nest. God bless you and your home. ❤️😺🐠
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much Henrietta, we feel quite at home which is so great. Stay safe too.
Thanks so much Beata!
Thank you for showing us around your lovely house, Kirsten and Jeorg, and for continuing to teach us about some of the differences between life in Germany and the UK.
Thank you so much for watching Sue!
So lovely and full of character ❤
Thanks so much!
Your home is Perfect as are the both of you! Thank you for sharing ... many Blessings!
Kirsten, the suspense of approaching the green door was intense! :)
Hahah :)
You’ve got to be the two sweetest people on the planet love you too!🤗❤️
Your house is beautiful. It is wonderful you live in a Victorian from the 1800s. Again, thank you for sharing your lives and home. It is nice that you kept the decorating to match the character of the house. Til next time. Love you both.
Thanks so much!
Absolutely lovely... You both have such wonderful taste and style from your apparel to the way you design your home.. Just beautiful all of it.. Thankyou so much for sharing it with us.. Have a great afternoon!!!!! 😊
Thais so much Pamela, have a great weekend.
Lol :)))
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home, full of marvellous details. It represents you well....... Warm, classy but relaxed... it has the same charm & magical energy that you have.
Last but no least, I also wanted to thank you because thru your videos my spirit takes off.... You guys have the power to vanish any sadness or worries and somehow without even saying it you make your audience feel calm, and with a sense of reassurance that "All will be Fine" :) So I send you a BIG " GRACIAS " all the way from Chile! ;)
Oh my Gosh, that's so very sweet, thanks so much Cynthia.
Thank you so m much! You condo sounds lovely.
Absolutely beautiful... the type of house most of us who love Victorian picture would be perfect and how you are decorating it is spot on..👍😘🥰
Thank you so much, makes us so happy!
so very generous of you both to share your home video with us all, really beautiful taste
and I find your home reflects it's peaceful spaces so nicely , Thank you Kirsten an Joerg
I LOVE THIS!!! The whole home is just so beautiful and neat and cozy and I could just go on! I want to move in with you! Lol.
.I am new to your videos, and I find them absolutely delightful I love it all and love it when you go to the outlets.
Thanks so much, yes we feel the same. The paint colours aren't Laura Ashley, they are from Edward Bulmer, the best quality and no plastic.
Your home is beautiful...I love old properties, they have so much character. You both have it looking so cosy and pretty :) x
Thanks so much! Oh yes, always love an older property as well.
😊
Thanks so much! Oh your house sounds absolutely lovely and how great that you enjoy it so much.
A lovely cosy home, full of character. You have excellent taste in decor. Hugs and stay safe xxx
Thanks so much Christine! Hope you're keeping well.
Thanks so much! Yes, we have a log burner in the snug.
