Personally, I preferred the scenario where more than one major powers have to worked together to preserve peace and uphold the balance of power whether they like it or not but this one is good too! So thank you! This is one of the best ones I see from you so far, Josh!
Unrestricted submarine warfare was a result of British using neutral false flags to cross blockades, then they would change back to their original flag & shoot the Germans. As the German Navy couldn't know which ships were under false flags, they stroke everyone. When Britain realised Germany was taking the passengers & the seamen to safety before sinking the ships, they started filling real neutral ships to the brim with explosives, so Germany wouldn't be able to secure the passengers. And that's how Britain created a causus belli between the USA & Germany.
I told my friend this! This is one of the big reaaons the US joined the war. They knew that Germany would be the world power if they won, so America knew that if it wanted any chance to be a world power it had to destroy Germany.
Oh and Germany literally tried the most idiotic plan of all of existence to make the Mexicans, who were in a civil war that had just seen an American intervention to stabilize, to invade the U.S.
So essentially, Britain manipulated Germany and the US into war with each other and thus caused the rise of Communism, Nazism and basically everything bad that defines the world we now know.
William Jennings Bryan also asked that armed merchant ships not be allowed in U.S. ports. This would have enabled the German U-boats to surface, order the evacuation of the ships, and then sink them. But, Pres. Wilson refused to accept this, so the Germans could not have the U-boats surface and evacuate the merchant ships, out of fear that they would be sunk by the armed merchant vessels.
Howdy Josh! Wonderful video. Also America would have been better internally by remaining Neutral in WW1. What if Napoleon III achieved the Natural Border of France.
Even if the German military took out France, their allies were losing so much ground elsewhere that it would’ve looked like the napoleonic wars. With the Kaiser as napoleon having to invade Italy and the balkins (Austria Hungary collapsing being the reason. Bulgaria wouldn’t have been able to hold out that mess by itself. Serbia and Romania both came back into the fight as Austria went down.)
That’d be assuming Germany’s last assaults wouldn’t have broken through. The army wouldn’t have allowed a surrender, since the Kaiser tried, and the army deposed him.
By 1917 the French were on the verge of mass mutiny. The only thing that prevented this was the arrival of the Americans. If the United States had remain neutral, these mutes would likely have occurred, forcing the French to drop out of the war or face revolution
@@grandmasterbroda1429 The mutinies were already being suppressed by the french army. Paris or no, German logistics were crippled by the blockade and their gains the the east were being nullified by a soviet invasion of ukraine, austria collapsing, the balkan front fracturing, and the german empire being torn apart by its own mutinies over lack of food.
Frankly, it couldn't have stayed out. The US at the time was one of the major "Factories of the World". As such, the German Submarine War posed a risk to its vital strategic interests that could not be ignored by the US.
sorry for being a nerd but at 4:37 the map of promised land to mexio is reversed the germans only promised texas, new mexio and Arazonia but still good video!
Truth be told, even if the USA didn’t side with Britain in ww1, the central powers were likely going to lose given that the British blockade by itself was already starving Germany and the British intelligence and colonial forces were handling the Ottoman Empire by themselves alright (the Ottoman Empire put up a decent fight, but only really put up a good fight defending Anatolia. If the ottomans didn’t join ww1 the Middle East would likely still be under ottoman rule as of its 1914 borders.
@@Gothic_Christian Yeah, I agree, Mexico was weak and going through a revolution, even if they wanted to, even if Germany gave weapons they couldn't win against the US. I agree, but Germany should have sent this stupid telegraph.
Ottomans and Austria-Hungary wouldn't survive because both countries were already in the state of decline and by the time the war is won their fates would be sealed.
The Austrian Empire ended in 1870, from which Austria-Hungary was born. It continued to exist because the other powers didn't want it to end. The Ottoman Empire was starting to dig oil, which would have changed their fate. Those countries ended because the superpowers of the time wanted them to die.
I think Austria-Hungary and the Ottoman Empire were doomed, they would have balkanized, it would have happened, no state of Israel because of no Austrian mustache man and no Holocaust but Italy would have fallen for fascism, and maybe France and Spain too.

He did. Until 1914.

Better yet, what if Arminius/Vercingetorix had pushed to Romans out of Gaul and established the Atlantic as the western border of Alemania?

Likely no Hitler….
To be replaced by 2 more Hitlers… (probably communist tho)
The blockades really were the game changer for WW1. USA or not, Germany would have starved into revolution or surrender anyways.

Whaf if America was more like the Holy Roman Empire?
You mean the articles of confederation are kept in place and the consituation isn’t made?
Articles of the Confederation moment
That'd be quite interesting!
America would be more undeveloped than Brazil. Because there is no federal government to restrict the expansion of slavery

I give German diplomacy an F during WWI. The Zimmerman telegraph should not have been sent.
I mean, it's not like Mexico was going to act on it anyway. Germany could not pose any actual threat to America.
