Kinda surprised that it's so slow. I was thinking about getting this one but now I think the 36cc may be the way to go. 40-50mph seems like the sweet spot. What elevation are you at? I live at sea level so I'd guess I'd get more power.

I just received my rovan today the same one as yours except the color , My question is I seen you have them pieces also, those 4 plastic pieces, you put them back in the bag on first video, what are they for ? Ty. Gene

@@BMPowered sadly no but it has to be better than reving high for low speed but might not have enough torque when geared up I had my Rovan with rovans high speed steel gearset it was good but a little slower off the start
I’m sure these go faster because I’ve seen when they go full speed the engine is screaming I feel like just a little more leaning the engine will do it
Cant you just lean it out more ? Sry if im wrong im new to 1/5 scale. It seems like it doesnt use the full rpms. Or do that engines doesnt take high rpms well ? If it really was at the max. rpm then yes its the gearing.
It sounds like it maxes out and then stops accelerating, so I think it's gearing for the most part. Thanks for your comment!! Welcome to 1/5 scale heaven!!
I hate to give advice over a video because what I hear might not be how it really sounds but in my opinion I think you are running to lean I would fatten it up and give it another go If I'm wrong it won't hurt anything to give it more fuel anyway. also, it sounded like you were suggesting that it's not getting full throttle? I would double-check your throttle endpoints but do not do that with the car running. just trying to help. great video keep up the good work 👍🏻
Yeah, I'm not sure about the fuel. It was bogging at the start so I leaned it out a bit. I'll try it and see. As for throttle, yeah, Jimmy and I talked about resetting the points. Thanks for the advice!
Straight from the box, the carb is set to fire up, with no adjustments. But like with all of these 5th scale gassers, you do have to tweak the high and low carb needles for best performance. There are tons of videos out there on how to tune these motors. We are not the best at it, still. But we are learning...
Lean that thing out, your not even hitting the power band of the engine. Does it have 2 needles/ sounds like you are only adjusting the pilot jet aka acceleration response.
We leaned it out some, but since it was the 1st run after break in, we didn't want to lean it too much. There is a High and Low needle, we were leaning the High a tad. I knew it didn't sound like it was getting the RPMs. We will run it more and dial it in when this cold and ice and snowy weather decides to go away.
bro can u plz recommend a good patrol car for like 200 dollars plz i live in dubai and big fanand also it is supposed to do 80 km/h on bangood it says thats a scam plz help
I can't find a petrol or gas car for 200 dollars on any website. You may have to look locally for one used for that price. The cheapest I've seen them have been has been from bang good, the baja in this video. For 200 dollars, look at the Arrma Typhon its 1/8 scale and later you can upgrade it to brushless and lipo. Yeah our baja 5b from Banggood didn't go 80km. We ended up putting a 45cc motor in it and We just built another 45cc on our last video. Thanks for watching us, we do it for fun..
See my 48 mph run here: ruclips.net/video/QZSFsqL5K6k/видео.html Subbed! I think your 29cc engine in this video isn't loosened up enough yet to hit peak revs, or your mixtures are too rich? Perhaps try altering your 2 stroke fuel/oil ratio and use the best petrol you can find (additives help the engine stay clean). My 14 year old stock, Fuelie 26cc engine hit 48 mph on standard 17/57 gearing, but it's clearly revving much higher than your 29cc. 🤔
There is definitaly something up with yours, it sounds sluggish, this guy hit 43: ruclips.net/video/zY4EyajtAsM/видео.html Maybe yours just needs some more breaking in time, or the filter is restricting air
@@BMPowered Based on standard principles of combustion: 1. Change sparkplug to a new one of good brand 2. Check the fuel lines are not kinked and ensure gas tank is venting properly 3. Make sure fuel mix is correct 4. Check end points 5. Check for binding in the wheels or brake binding 6. Try a dry air filter (or under oiled) but only for one run in a clean environment, it will run like crap if its got too much oil in it 7. take air filter off, it may have sucked in a bunch of oil which is starving it of air
We will check the spark plug and gap, and throw in a NGK. I'm curious about the fuel mixture, we will start with a fresh batch mix and see if that helps too..We used minimal oil in the air filter. We are going to check the servo end points too. Thanks for the suggestions...
@@BMPowered If none of that works, its possible you just have a defective engine. They're cheap and mass produced. Worst case you could do a compression test and if its low, buy a top end rebuild kit, they're cheap. But dont bother installing it until you've worn out the engine from bashing, then fit the top end rebuilt. It sounds hard but it isnt, plenty of guides on YT. Some people fit copper cylinder head gaskets which are slightly thinner and provides better compression and more power
That’s some crazy good shop lighting you got there
That is an epic truck. And cheap too. Speed runs aren't bad for the gasser.
Contemplated this buggy for a few months and was gun shy because it’s a clone. Purchased the losi 5ive this past weekend.
I absolutely love the Rovan, buuuuut, would love to have the Losi too. I don't think either are a bad decision.

Aint gonna get much more without gearing it up. Bout 35 top mph with a 57t. 19/55 is a good balance for bash and speed.
I have a surprise coming for it anyway 😏
Im waiting patiently for mine to get here . Love the video from🇬🇺 Guam

Thanks! I'm gonna keep it stock......nah!
where i can get spare part to this car? are same on HPI baja
For the most part, yes. You can find parts on Rovanrc.com.
That motor is begging for more air and fuel. A little piston shave on exhaust side. Some light port work and a better carb would really liven it up
You guys should look into a 3 speed transmission for it
I've heard they aren't reliable. Do you have any experience with them?
@@BMPowered sadly no but it has to be better than reving high for low speed but might not have enough torque when geared up I had my Rovan with rovans high speed steel gearset it was good but a little slower off the start
Multi-speed gearing is terrible for bashing. Awesome for street ripping when using slicks tho. The one way bearing goes bad if you bash with it.
3 speeds are junk. Research it.
You’ll spend more time wrenching
