Btw Golden Retrievers being dumb is a very common misconception because of their quirky behavior and goofy looks. They were actually genetically bred for hunting/bird dog and so they are very intuitive and can be silent at the drop of a dime for hours on end but still hear for miles and know where the bird fell exactly each time and go safely Retrieve and return it (hence the name).

I have a Texas Heeler (Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog hybrid). Such a good and good-looking breed. So goddamn smart and loyal, but definitely need attention and lots of exercise. I feel like X wouldn't be able to handle the daily time sink that most medium-sized, intelligent dog breeds require. He'd be better off with a cat tbh. lol
