@@miguelrosado6348 what answers? She dodged everything by repeating things that someone else has said regardless of it's relation to the question. The questions about other countries weren't a high point as it attempted to frame a program designed for palestinians as bad because it doesn't help entities other than palestinians. Being complicit in the use of US funding to employ and provide gathering places for terrorists comes to mind. He could have used this time much more productively. There were plenty of uncomfortable questions for this particular issue and would have achieved his goal better.
@@tomwilson9010 I was being sarcastic by using the same comment structure of the original post. These hearings for me are designed for senators and politicians to have the spotlight and build their brand by posing their thoughts and criticisms in a shape of a question. So these questions are not indented to draw information from the answers, but for the politicians to tell the world what they think about these issues. That's why they are all misleading and unfair, as you can't decided complex issues and have a fair assesement of the situation with a "yes" or "no" questions.

The whole point of the UN was to be impartial, not to promote hatred and terrorism, which UNRWA has been called out for doing for years now. Clearly the UN failed their job and as a result this agency needs to be disbanded completely.
The UN actually changed the definition of what is a refugee only for the Arab Palestinians to keep considering then “ refugees “ when no where else would such ppl would be called refugees. Nah, they are considered to be refugees because they have a legitimate claim, directly of through ancestry, to the land they were expulsed from in 1947-48 during the Nakba. The mistake of the "manufacturing" of the state of Israel is the main cause to the constant upheaval in the region since then.

The Palestinians are not the only refugees on this planet, other refugees, once they've settled somewhere else, or born in other countries, are no longer recognized as refugees by the UN. Whatever claims some Syrians or Ukrainians or Tibetans or Kurds or Armenians or Germans or whatever hold in their heart, from WW-II lessay, through ancestry or any other thing they care about, is their business. The Jewish people also have claims through ancestry to the land they were expelled from. More recent ones, and ones going way farther back. A Syrian refugee that has settled in Canada, is for all intents and purposes now Canadian. They don't need a UN agency to take care of them.

Nobody needs their own UNRWA. UNHCR already exists and is quite adept at handling refugees and helping them gain citizenship. The only reason UNRWA exists is to fight a certain country.

The threshold is, the redirection of funding to an alternative direct service provider. Staffed by representatives from the funding Countries, who are staffed by citizens of the funding Countries which is audited by the funding Countries both operationally and financially and frequently. Zero funding to UNRWA or any UN body period.
