im hoping to use the rear and front from an old golf kart on a rig im building for my kids, so it's way overbuilt. got a 1976 toro snow blower briggs that was used ONCE, original tins, sounds STRONG, thats whats going on that sucker. i just need to find a carb with an actual throttle instead of the on-off one that toro tossed on there for the blower use
You got harbor freight channel locks and you got a Walmart brand grinder cutting that pin off you definitely went cheap on those tools brother but hey they work don’t they!!!!!
eazy way to get bearings out of aluminium housings : first get all the gears and stuff out , put the housing with the bearings open end down on a cheap electric hotplate / stove , the aluminium expands more when it gets hot and usually the bearings fall out on their own , if they dont drop the case on the wooden workbench with the bearings down a few times with the old bearings out turn the still hot housing over and drop the new bearings in before its cooled down (no hammering needed ) works with putting bearings over axles too just need to heat the bearings
@@marks8068 something i seen done with wheelberings is that they weld the inside race to the outside race weld realy hot and once the weld is cooled it will fall out the hole its mounted in
@@watahyahknow yeah I hate doing that.. that way you risk the new bearing tot being pressfit anymore and spin inside the case under load wearing out the casing. If my solution is for some reason no option I`d rather do it the way you posted first
did you get the other bearing out ??i seen on road kill they packed behind the bearing with bread and drove a rod up threw the bearing witch would put pressure on the bearing and should pop out ,,, dont pound too hard you could put rod threw the case ...
@@SportbikerNZ you put it in the hole then you put a rod the same size as the bearing hole ..you pack the bread in there keep adding as needed ,,there is a gap behind the bearing . and the bread will fill it ,some people may use grease too do the same thing .
RBG soak the crusty bearings in hot WD40 to drive out the moisture. Then clean with brake clean. Then soak them in the recommended gear oil for 24 hours. Then spin the removed bearing on your finger it it feels gritty discard. I'll bet it's ok.
You don't have to have the part number on the bearing to get a replacement. If you know the inside diameter, outside diameter and the width, any bearing shop will be able to tell you what the part number is. 99% of bearings are standard sizes. There are exceptions, but most are common. The other thing you need to know is whether the bearing is open, shielded or sealed. That is also part of the part number, but a quick glance will tell you that.
To be fair that'd be rather lackluster judging by the very underwhelming diesel engine characteristics on go karts other people made. The suggestion usually comes from people who don't really know anything about diesels.
theres no way in hell i`d have bought a new complete shaft just because of a bad bearing.. any engineering supplies store should have a replacement bearing for less than 1/10th of what you paid for that thing..
Why didn't you pressure wash all of this grime off befor you put all of these new on this build. Ever build you do the first step could clean of the grease dirt and gumk that the only thing I see about your project I think you do better on on all the rest you do is great workmanship just learn to clean you shit up
What a terrible comment baselessly assuming he wasn't going to clean it. Man, the foolish people on the net must be why he lost his hair. Even a noob that's watched only a few RBG vids knows he would have cleaned the heck out of this.
Chris has the skills to pay da bills. For a one man show he's kickin ASS
did you see when he broke down
Just a bit of effort and some clever observation makes a sticky situation smooth as molasses. Well done freind!
Thanks

Hey RBG you need get a Blind Hole Bearing Puller for case side bearing
I’m planning on coming up for the event, thanks to your channel I think my mini bike is ready, is there camping there???
Yes sir there is. Might want to call them first and make reservations.
Red Beard's Garage I’m coming up !!!!

Next time shoot me a call Greg, I get all Yamaha parts at dealer price and can have it drop shipped directly to you!
The brack is internal in the rear end so if you have the parking brake on and try to tern the cluch it whont move ..... I'm a golf cart mechanic 😁

or just mig-weld a slide hammer to the bearing, thats a lot quicker

Great vids.
I’m interested in that cart. Where do you post your stuff for sale. Might want some mods done to it as well, depending on what you already have done.
Great. Place

bread? How can they drive a rod up through the bearing when there is no access hole behind the bearing? Makes no sense.

Brax's mustache looks like 8 year old me drinking chocolate milk and then saying "look mom, I got a mustache just like dad!"
So can you clean some parts and reuse them?
Oh your gonna use the blue wrench to rotate that pin !!! lol
Glizzy cart back in action?
The diff still has to move if the transmission is in gear or not. ??
Thanks.

Been waiting on this cart to come back big pimping now
what is the total length of the golf cart? Wheel base etc...
Idk if you remember but I commented on your first post on insta of the golf cart.
I don't remember. Mustn't have been anything memorable.
That rear axle is it original
You heard him RBW Chris!
Chris is da man. I have no doubt hes up to the task
Man that thing was locked up tight there bud great job figuring it out

Perfect time weld diff get some that sweet posie
Posi is limited slip, not fully locked like a welded dif. Nothing similar about the two.
Depending on where it was could be salt water due to storm surge
It’d be caked in salt
Looks like the inside of a Honda trans just smaller and less gears.
What the biggest duramax before you get to VTwin
Surely they list their products on their website.
Whoop!
you shouold build some mad go kart that has big speed and shox
Convert it to a Subaru differential, it’s also lighter
Or a nuclear sub differential for strength.
Im here ..... ...... ...... ... ..
Damn those harbor freight pliers you have, the design was stolen from Knipex! Damn them Chinese factories!
First like and comment
Sorry, but your disappointing comment contributed nothing good and deserves punishment. ruclips.net/video/75MCdx7zURI/видео.html

Not to be rude or anything it's called Hurricane Harbor I used to live there
Fear not, it's hardly rude to identify place names.
Hi
Sup bitches one of the few first hope the build goes well guy
Whenever you get your track together and invite youtubers over to race you should invite Vasilybuilds
Knipex pliers clone
First
Firsr

I didn't buy it. Said in the video I ordered one for $14
@@RedBeardsGarageOops i missed that I think.
Dude he took great pains in the vid to clarify he never ordered the set, just the bearing.
